It's just sad to see...not only I've not receive much support while doing the course, I've had a family incident and had to move back home to give support and only going back to the UK by the end of 2024, requested to get my course cancelled due to that and I've been required to basically destroy my life in the UK in order to prove that I'm not there...if its not a scam its definitely unethical and a disgrace

Hello, this is a message to everyone who has been affected by these companies, Caledonian finance group Carnegie Consumer Finance, Green 360 limited,
Affinity Construction Training (ACT),New Trades Career.
You need to report this to Action Fraud immediately IF YOU HAVE PAID FOR TRAINING COURSES, AND NOT RECEIVED WHAT YOU WERE PROMISED.

This course is an absolute scam and no help whatsoever. I stopped paying Caledonia finance as they are both scammers. I tried reporting both as scams with Action Fraud and Lloyds however both did not help with my situation. My debt has now been passed to a company called DRS. After checking trust pilot for this company it is now more clear than ever that this is all a mega trap for us unknowing victims. I even tried getting help from Trades Courses Complaints who did get back to me but left me in the dark with the next steps. All three companies Affinity Construction Training, Caledonia Finance and DRS should all be shut down as this is not an ethical way to conduct business and bullying is certainly not the way to go.

SCAM!!!! DO NOT SIGN UP. I don’t even know how they got my details but the fraud who calls himself Luke Clarke. Tried to make it sound like there are limited spaces on the course made me tell him why THEY should accept me onto the course. Now I’m stuck paying £190 pm for a course that is worthless. don’t know why it takes to weeks to mark a multiple choice test which can be marked in seconds. This is the tactics they use to make you lazier because you can’t move forward with the modules until it is marked. Anyways DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS. REPORT THEM.

Keep as far as possible from these scammers. They misleads and are total crooks. Everything all the other people say here is true about them. They say after TMA 13 you are booked for your first practical workshop I completed up to TMA 25 never saw a workshop yet , the so call tutors are waste of time as well. What these scammers did realise I went to college in the late 90's and been doing electrical work since then. But after recently moving to the UK I had to pretty much retained to practice electrical here. So being now in my early forties, I couldn't see myself in a full time college for I have my adult responsibility. Their materials had so many errors. In fact the material they sent where from c&g 2008 and now the regs are 2022 alot have changed from then to now.

Hi ! I started the course of Plumber LVL 2 and Gas Engineer LVL 3 , all good and beautiful until I got to the situation of taking the H&S test which is a special one made so that you don't pass it the first time, to waste your time. I passed the same H&S tests at a CITB center on the first try with a 100% result and at AFFINITY I gave it 4 times without success, I tend to think that I didn't pass it on purpose, to pass the time, so the month in which I have to pay the course also passes. In the books I received from them, it is written very clearly that the first week of practice at the center is after I finish TMA 13 and H&S test, I passed both, and then they tell me that I have to do up to TMA 16, not TMA 13 !!! I sent them a message why they don't schedule me for practice and they said that I have to call at Customer Service ! But I talked to them by email and they said that they would contact me automatically, but it didn't happen like that, they are liars and take their time to take my money !
If someone solved it somehow, and stopped this course, respectively the payment to them, we can discuss by email. "m.marius08 @yahoo.com" no space between "08 and @yahoo" !

I've had a change of job which is now much more labour intensive and longer hours and therefore wanted to drop out from the course. I've received next to no help as it is anyway and have completely lost all interest in the course. I rang the admin team to express this and was told that I'm signed into a contract now and only had 14 days to leave the course, when on the phone I was told I could leave at any time I just wouldn't get my money back. I feel genuinely sick with worry now about having to pay over £7000 for something I don't have the time or motivation to do. I wish I'd seen the other reviews saying the same thing before I signed up with this evil company.

After enquiring on the ACT website I was contacted by a man who I thought worked directly with them however turns out he was a third party recruiter. During the call he basically making me give him reasons why I should be given a place on this fantastic course, told me there’s no time frame for the course and didn’t explain that it’s all basically by yourself and if you have any queries you contact a tutor team. He made me believe the £60 deposit was just to hold my place as it’s a very busy course, he skim read through the contract and made me sign it while on the call. Me, 19, and not knowing that’s a terrible idea, signed it and that was the end of the call. I didn’t start studying for another couple weeks due to work stress then after a few weeks of studying I decided this course isn’t for me and it wasn’t a great system. I was then told I’m not allowed to back out and was told about the 2 weeks cooling off period which I had apparently signed for but it wasn’t explained. I then went back and forth for a couple months between them and the credit company but was essentially told ‘too bad’.

So I am now stuck in a 3 year course paying £7,800 that I apparently can’t leave despite only receiving little to no tutor help (apart from courtesy calls after I had complained) and one text book.

Anyone thinking of doing this course I BEG research into it and read real reviews before you are stuck in an expensive contract.

If anyone has had the same experience and can offer me any advice if you’ve got any further with getting out of the course, please let me know :)

Am having the same experience with an electrician's course through ACT as the other people who have left reviews have had on their courses.

Avoid them if you can as they will lock you into a long-term contract with only a 2-week cooling off period (which is not nearly enough time to discover how little value the training is compared to the cost of it at ~£8,000).

If you contact them and attempt to cancel, they will throw the contract terms at you and tell you there's nothing you can do. Spoke to Citizen's Advice Bureau about it and they told me basically the same (The joke's on you, idiot etc)

With regards to the training material itself, it's sold as "self-paced" training which is very misleading as the pace is very much set by ACT and they love to procrastinate.

They will send you "reference" books in the post which are divided into haphazard modules each one ending with a Tutor Marked Assignment (a multiple choice test) which needs to be submitted via an online portal. It will take 1 - 2 days for the submission to be acknowledged followed by another 5 days to receive a mark - so much unnecessary delay (For a computer this is several back-to-back eternities given just how quickly they can process simple information and turn it into glorious reports in a heartbeat).

You need one TMA to be marked before you can submit another. The course outline implies there are 39 modules so absolute minimum, it will take about 39 weeks just to get the assessments marked. On top of that, the books have no contents page, no glossary of terms and no index so they aren't exactly easy to navigate. It's a minor miracle that they have page numbers to be fair.

In addition to the "self-paced" learning there is supposed to be weekend learning on-top however, I am 6 months into the course and have yet to attend a training centre (I started in July 2022 and I have a booking for first attendance for March 2023).

The tutor team that is supposed to be there to help you along they way may as well not exist. Not once in 6 months have they ever contacted me to find out how the course is going, how I am finding it or commented on the marks I have been getting or anything but then, why would they? As they have my money and aren't giving it back. I have mailed them a few times are most often they ignore the questions I ask and answer ones they wanted me to ask instead.

I am highly doubtful I will complete this course with the necessary practical skills, knowledge or means to obtain work as an electrician.

When compared to the electrician's short-course I completed with Trade Skills 4 U, the companies are night and day different. To date, the only electrical knowledge I have has been retained knowledge from the previous Trade Skills 4 U course and bits and pieces I have picked up from watching various YouTube videos.

If I lived within commute distance of Trade Skills 4 U I would have used them again.

My saga with ACT is not going to end anytime soon and I hope this review (along with the other reviews here) will serve as a warning to other people looking to learn a trade. This is not the way to do it.

I’m currently stuck in a contract with affinity fuming at the fact they’ve misold information and a plumbing course to me that I’ve already payed £1300 at the moment I’m currently going to seek legal advice to get out of my contract and be reimbursed my money that I have spent ! I’m so angry!

Just avoided being scammed by this company just don’t sign any contracts with them do as the other review says and look at the other company that is owned by 360. The reviews of the other company explain the exact process I just went through with this company they want to lock you in to a contract before seeing any documents. Preying on people looking to do better in life.

Affinity construction training is a trade name for a company called Green 360 Ltd. This company also owns a business under trade name "new trades career" which has got very bad reviews. Please do your research before training with this company.
