Ho utilizzato KDP per la pubblicazione dei miei libri, ma l'esperienza si è rivelata una vera e propria gabbia per gli autori. Una volta caricati i libri, anche se messi in stato "unpublished" (fuori catalogo), Amazon non permette in alcun modo di eliminarli definitivamente dal sistema o di rimuoverli dai record pubblici, lasciandoli visibili o indicizzati in modo caotico. Il supporto clienti, dopo lunghe conversazioni, non offre alcuna soluzione. Inoltre, le FAQ sulla chiusura dell'account sono fuorvianti: se decidi di chiudere il servizio, ti avvisano che non potrai riutilizzare la stessa email, ma omettono la rigidità dei blocchi legati ai dati anagrafici e ai documenti d'identità, impedendo di fatto una gestione pulita della propria bibliografia e del proprio nome d'autore. Sconsigliato a chi cerca trasparenza e controllo sul proprio lavoro.

Terrible Platform and Zero Credibility!
​My experience with Amazon KDP has been an absolute nightmare. They closed my account without any prior warning, notice, or a valid reason, just after I spent weeks preparing everything to launch. When I tried to appeal, they hid behind automated, robotic responses and refused to provide any transparency or specific details.
​It feels like they terminate accounts arbitrarily and unjustly, destroying creators' hard work for no real reason. There is zero credibility, zero respect for publishers, and abysmal customer support. Stay away from this unreliable platform!🤮🤢

It is interesting how such a bad service is owned by the richest or one of the richest persons in the world. The clunkiness is appalling. Everything takes exponentially much more time than one can imagine and after days of trial and error and one upload per incremental edit, there is this Orwellian Woke emal infogming me from a woke clerk somewhere in Winterfeld on another galaxy thst the book is blocked because it "may cause a dissatisfactory customer experience". So this is where I begin to look for another way of publishing. I had enough of the totalitarianism. What a horroble place Amazon KDP is. I have written a sociological work about the 19:th and 20:th centurys, by myself and just because some 22 year old don't understand sociology I cannot publish? Or is it a technocal issue? I don't know! How can I know. The exact same in another language passed. What if you TOLD YOUR CUSTOMERS EXPLICITLY WHAT THE FAULT WAS. Then we could be constructive. Crap service. Utter useless automated wokeness totalitarian orwellian horror.

Scandalous management, racketeering and literally robbing aspiring authors and general public in gobsmacking amounts.

Amazon take 60% Royalty and the print cost and whichever way they've worked it out, i get .34p per book purchased.

This company is a scamming rip off. They ask for funds to print and publish your book and no books are printed. Then they send false made up figures of your sales. When you question them they just take your money and stop communicating. DO NOT TRUST these people they are scammers that will steal your money. Report this company to the FBI.

I had my KDP account permanently terminated by Amazon, and what concerns me most is the complete lack of transparency.

I received a general message claiming “manipulation of services” and “content guideline violations,” but no specific example or evidence was ever provided. I appealed multiple times in good faith, explained that I’m a beginner, and asked for clarification so I could understand and learn from any mistake. Each time, I received the same template-style response with no real explanation.

This is not just about losing access to a platform—it also means losing unpaid royalties and being permanently banned, which is a serious action. Decisions like this should come with clear and actionable feedback, not vague statements.

I respect that platforms need to enforce rules, but there should be a fair level of transparency, especially when the consequences are this severe. Right now, it feels like users can be penalized without being given a meaningful chance to understand or correct what went wrong.

I hope Amazon KDP improves how it handles these situations, because this experience has significantly affected my trust in the platform.

MON LIVRE SUR KDP NE SE VEND PAS DU TOUT. C'EST UNE BELLE ARNAQUE KDP que de faire croire aux gens qu'ils vont pouvoir vendre leur livre auto édité alors qu'en fait faut payer pour faire la promo de son livre sinon pas d'audience. C'est scandaleux de profiter de la faiblesse des gens. Ils font faire des concours pour inciter les gens à publier leur livre chez eux, c'est scandaleux. Ils n'aident que ceux qui sont déjà connus. Pour les autres, ils les laissent ramer en leur faisant miroiter de belles promesses. Les réseaux ne servent à rien pour faire la promo de son livre et ils le savent très bien, les nouveaux auteurs ne sont jamais pris au sérieux. Ils prélevez 60% sur les ventes, ne laissant quasiment rien aux auteurs. Ils profitent du système pour s'enrichir.

I was suddenly asked to verify my identity in order to access my account. I can understand the reason for this, but the process was unnecessarily frustrating: the system did not properly recognize my ID card, and the verification workflow itself appeared to be broken, repeatedly sending me back to the previous menu instead of completing the procedure when started from iPhone.
In the end, I managed to get through only by using a different document and a computer. This made it clear that the problem was not my identity, but the way Amazon handled the verification process.
Platforms like this are built on automation, but when automation fails there should be an efficient human fallback. Too often, with Amazon, the user is left alone to struggle with a malfunctioning system.
The issue was eventually resolved, but only thanks to my persistence—not because the process worked as it should.
I am sorry to leave a negative review, because I am normally supportive of KDP and I do recognize its value. However, in this case the service was genuinely disappointing.

A mixed opinion, but worrying how many details are required I understand verification but come on! I usually love Amazon but this website gives me mixed opinions I originally came here to publish my books however I’ve been faced with nothing but problems

I am in australia and was approached by this company to publish my book. It has been nothing but issues that i have had to complain about. The very last straw was having to pay 164.00au dollars for 2 of my own books. I cannot look up on amazon the book title and cannot access authour copies. When the two expensive books arrived i opened them hoping to see professional putting together. NOT ONE POEM WAS ON CORRESPONDING PAGE TO ILLUSTRATION. I HAVE ASKED FOR REFUND BUT THAT HAS GONE ON DEAF EARS. I HAVE EMAILED THE HEAD HONCHO AND BEEN FOBBED OFF. I AM NOT A PERSON TO FOB OFF AND WHEN I PAY GOOD MONEY FOR PROFESSIONAL WORK THAT IS WHAT I EXPECT NOT SOMETHING THAT A MONKEY COULD PUT TOGETHER WITH MORE COMMON SENSE AND PROFESSIONALISM. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.

Llevo un año y medio trabando con Amazon KDP y en principio estaba muy contento.

Sin embargo, hace 3 MESES intente poner un libro gratis, me pusieron el libro gratis en todos los países menos en España.

Después de 10 contactos, con diferentes personas del servicio de atención al cliente en las que solo me pasaban plantillas sin revisar mi caso, el libro aún continua de pago, y me han dejado sin respuesta.

Por otra parte, publiqué otro libro la semana pasada, y en principio estaba aprobado, incluso pedí una copia para que me llegase esta semana. Sin embargo, de un día para otro me pusieron el libro en espera y me anularon el envío.

La cosa es que me pone un mensaje para que contacte con el equipo técnico, en el que se supone que pone que te responden a las 24 horas. han pasado ya 7 días y nadie me ha respondido y mi libro continua en espera.


Al menos podrían decirme que han recibido mi consulta, es un poco angustioso estar esperando con la ilusión de que se publique y no recibir ninguna respuesta.

Ya no se que más puedo hacer, el servicio técnico no me responde, me parece una falta de respeto total con un cliente y socio habitual de su empresa.

Quedo a la espera de una respuesta estructurada, una disculpa de parte de su equipo y una solución a estos problemas.
