Run Away from this Company
**Authors: Exercise Extreme Caution — I Lost More Than $70,000**
I am an author and independent publisher. Between December 2025 and May 2026, I paid more than **$70,000** for publishing, audiobook production, marketing, distribution, book-fair representation, and related services connected with American Publishing Company. In my experience, substantial services I paid for were never delivered as represented.
My concerns became much more serious when I investigated who I was actually dealing with.
American Publishing Company lists **11845 W Olympic Blvd, 11th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90064** as its mailing address. I have been unable to verify an operating APC office at that location corresponding to the business presented to me. APC's own website also states that the company is **“managed and marketed by Awsomate Pvt Ltd,”** which I found is associated with Karachi, Pakistan.
Another major concern is where my money went. Payments represented to me as being for American Publishing Company services were directed to other entities, including **End to End Digitals and CMOLDS**, rather than simply to American Publishing Company. My investigation has raised serious questions about the relationships among these entities and the ultimate destination of my money.
I was also presented with a purported **“Lake Union Publishings”** distribution agreement involving 11,100 copies of my books. I was verbally led to believe that this opportunity was affiliated with Amazon Publishing. Amazon's legitimate imprint is **Lake Union Publishing**—without the additional “s.” I relied upon the represented Amazon/Lake Union affiliation when making my decision. Had I known that no verified Amazon relationship had been established, I would not have entered into the agreement or made the related payments.
I have **formally requested a refund of my money**. I have not received a refund. Since making that request, **my emails and telephone calls have gone unanswered**. Individuals who previously communicated with me regarding services and payments are no longer responding to my attempts to resolve this matter.
### Pay Close Attention to the Trustpilot Claims
Prospective customers should also independently verify the review claims presented on American Publishing Company's website.
APC's website has displayed a **five-star Trustpilot representation and a 4.7/5 rating**. However, when I checked American Publishing Company's actual Trustpilot profile, it showed only **two reviews and an overall TrustScore of 3.0/5**—not 4.7/5.
One of those two reviews is my one-star review. The other is a five-star review posted in November 2023. I attempted to independently identify the author/reviewer associated with the positive review and **could not find evidence sufficient for me to verify that person's claimed publishing experience or identify the book that was supposedly published**. I am not claiming that the reviewer does not exist; I am saying that I was unable to independently substantiate the review.
That discrepancy alone is something I believe prospective authors should examine carefully. **Do not rely on ratings or testimonials displayed on a publisher's own website. Go directly to the independent review platform and examine the actual reviews yourself.**
I have filed a complaint with the **Federal Trade Commission** and have notified or submitted information to the **Attorneys General of Arizona, California, and Texas**. Texas is particularly relevant to my investigation because of the payment and business connections I identified involving End to End Digitals.
I have retained the contracts, emails, invoices, payment records, wire information, refund requests, and other documentation supporting my experience. I am continuing to provide this evidence to the appropriate authorities.
I cannot tell another author what decision to make. I can tell you what I wish I had done: **independently verify the company's physical presence, legal entity, payment recipient, claimed publisher relationships, reviews and testimonials, and every promised distribution opportunity before sending any money.**
Based on my personal experience, I would never do business with this company again.
My warning to fellow authors is simple:
**Don't just walk away. RUN.**
