We couldn’t be happier with the stables where my daughter rides. The whole team is fantastic — friendly, professional, and incredibly supportive.

The instructors are excellent, always encouraging confidence while maintaining high standards of care and teaching. The staff are welcoming and helpful, and there’s such a lovely, positive atmosphere every time we visit.

It’s a wonderful environment for riders to learn, grow, and truly enjoy being around horses. We feel very lucky to be part of such a special yard!

Fantastic riding school. Kind and experienced staff, my daughter has progressed massively since joining in August when her old riding school closed. Highly recommend. Amazing opportunities to travel to external competitions, beach hacks and more.

We have been so impressed with how friendly and supportive the staff and instructors are at Ampfield Riding Stables. My 15 year old daughter started learning to ride at Ampfield stables last year and has really increased her skills and confidence with the help from the team. We would highly recommend them for anyone wanting to learn to ride with a professional and caring team.

We absolutely love Ampfield. When our daughter joined in 2022 she progressed in a year faster than she had over three years in her previous yard. She has loaned three different horses, all of excellent character and quality and has taken part in unaffiliated and affiliated competitions with brilliant results. The instructors are friendly and professional and look after the riders while making sure they get the right instruction and skills they need to improve their riding. Both flat and jump private and group lessons are very beneficial and have helped our daughter improve immensely. I have also joined Ladies Morning, a group one hour session for older riders who wish to restart riding, improve or just have a bit of riding fun with likeminded people. The stables also offer beach rides and forest hacks which are very popular. Highly recommended.

Amazing and supportive environment with a family feel. Highly knowledgeable and fabulous staff, lessons have greatly advanced my daughter’s confidence and ability. Highly recommend.

Excellent place to learn to ride. Horses are well looked after and there are a range of different horses for different abilities. Staff are knowledgeable and experienced and tailor the lesson to the rider’s needs and abilities. As a very nervous adult beginner I have grown so much in confidence, knowledge and ability under the expert tuition here. Highly recommend.

A brilliant yard, I have passed BHS exams and progressed to winning rosettes for dressage and jumping in the 2 years I have ridden here. So rare to find a yard with horses and instructors that help people reach their goals and have fun and friendship along the way. A true family run gem. And amazing beach rides !

Arrived as advised, 15 minutes early, yet the instructor showed up late without acknowledging the delay. The session was cut short to just 15 minutes instead of the promised half hour. Additionally, unattended dogs almost led to a mishap. Overall, the place lacks friendliness and organization. I'd recommend steering clear.

Instructor was 15 mins late. No apology or explanation.

So instead of a half hour lesson we got 15 mins. Not even an apology.

We were 15 mins early as requested.

Loose dogs nearly caused an accident.

Unfriendly poorly run place. Avoid.

Our six year old daughter has been having lessons at Ampfield since last year. She loves riding here and is making great progress. Everyone is very friendly and encouraging and the horses are happy and well cared-for. Highly recommended.

People here are very kind and amazing! Very useful and has amazing instructors!

We had a fabulous experience at Ampfield Riding Stables. A really well organised place with lovely well trained staff and ponies. It was for my granddaughter’s 8 year old birthday party making a total of 9 little girls. They each had a quiet pony to ride with a structured lesson ending in games, followed by pony grooming. A great success and I would highly recommend this place.

My daughter loans here, it is a fantastic riding stables. My daughter has gained so much confidence in her riding and skills as well as making lots of new friends.
It really is a well run, lovely place to be. I would highly recommend.

Very friendly and welcoming yard and both my girls have progressed a great deal since starting at Ampfield

1. No enough “Professional Equestrian Coach” — we really do not want to pay GBP42/ 30minutes lessons; only to get a student as Equestrian coach to training our kids. It is really dangerous. If any hurt happen for our children , the student are not any Risk control. It is unacceptable.

To be honest Recently private lessons go really poor. Only see one “Professional Equestrian Coach” lots old Coach left.

The owner start use student to do the Coach job and run private training. And Told us these student are qualified. And she think we have not give chance to these students are rude……..
Actually we have been told to pay GBP420 for 10 lessons and we do try 3 day lessons there ( with these student Coaches); the last lessons only give us 15 minutes…… really unacceptable.

3. Each lessons give a different Coach and we have meet 3 different coach to teach our child and the last lessons only 15 minutes even we pay GBP42( then we make phone call to complain, then the owner just complain back said we speak too louder and she think a customer speaker louder complain is rude and she start to looking for excuses to stop any lessons to us. )

4. We still waiting for payment return.when we call them to ask when can we get payment return. They no any detail plan return payment to us . just tell us wait, we don’t know how many months need wait.

5. When the owner could not offer professional service. She have no idea to improve their service or try get better management for her business. Just looking for unacceptable excuses to push customers complain back.

6. The Ampfield Riding Stables staff told us the owner she lost her some special relative and could not Control emotion. Sometimes just crying in office (Maybe it is the reason this Riding center could not give qualify service ) The owner just mix private life and business together.

7. As customers we have paid all cost and we do want to get professional qualify service.

If Ampfield riding Stables are not ready running business, we will have to give up. We don’t want our children to get any hurt in one wrong riding place. We have to stop any lessons in here . Need payment to return

8. We told Anna(the owner daughter) and told her we have to stop lessons here if no any qualify coach to give private lessons and ask her return our rest payment .
we have paid 10 lessons cost GBP420 and only join 2.5 lessons and the rest 7.5 lessons cost need return).

She start use Vicious language attacks and abuse customers.

9.We really want to ask the owner did you know what is really rude? ( we do believe you know your daughter Anna more than anybody else)

10. Wish you can improve your business services not always looking for excuses it is not any helpful . Hope you can get ready one day.
