The whole experience and the staff were magnificent

I was very happy with our cruise up the coast of Croatia! The cabin accommodations were excellent! The onboard staff was very friendly and helpful..... We really enjoyed with itinerary.... The swim stops were lots of fun and refreshing on our very hot journey. Our Program Director, was attentive, being very sure everyone was doing well and enjoying the cruise and stops. We was also very caring.....and fun! The meal plans were great, offering many choices.
My only complaint was that one of the passengers got onboard and was sick......that caused many of us to also get sick (spoiling part of our trip) and even got the Program Director sick although she did her best to hide it and she was great to forge through and still do an amazing job! The food was very good, but did lack a certain amount of seasoning.....to my taste..... Drinks and wine was plentiful and very much enjoyed. I think APT did a GREAT JOB and we really enjoyed our journey!!! Great kudos to Anna our Cruise Director.

We were on an APT holiday, but to be honest it seemed more like an APT Travelmarvel holiday. No Speciality dining, APT rep in Lisbon a waste of time, didn’t actually interact much with any of the guests. He arranged a meal at a local restaurant, mediocre at best. Douro staff lovely, rep. did well as it was her first week. Chaotic check-in at hotel in Madrid, APT not there to meet coaches. Been with APT 6 times, but this was the least organised and special holiday, definitely a Travelmarvel ship. Like some aspects, but not to usual APT standard.

The food was not as good as in previous trips.
There was a lack of scenic cruising. Tooo long docked at several places. Not the right balance between excursions and scenic cruising.Parallel parking with a bank or another ship either side.

Well organised. Great hotels, mostly Fairmont.

We really enjoyed our trip with you. The ship was lovely, and the staff were fantastic. Food was good, as were the guided tours.

Your entertainment team were very entertaining.

My wife is not very mobile, so we were able to take the easy tours.

Very enjoyable, well organised, hotels were good, except Jasper. Additional trips were great.
Kathryn our guide was informative and enthusiastic, sometimes a little too loud!

Wonderful Cruise, value for money & exceptional Customer Service.

Friendly staff and very efficient.
Tours were great with interesting guides.
The only negative was that we would have liked to see more of the river Danube by cruising during the day.

The bus journeys too long and the guides tended to walk on too fast and get too far ahead even though we could still hear the commentary.
The food and company on board was excellent along with the crew and staff. Ship comfortable and clean. Felt the deck chairs and upper deck layout was average only. Perhaps a few deck games be available.

Phoebe talked all way through the booking in a professional and friendly way.

Excellent tour, extremely well organised, very good hotels and an informative tour director.

The package was very well organised with every small detail taken care of. Such as, the luggage being taken from the rooms into the coach back into the rooms at the next stop & this continued throughout the tour which provided for a stress free trip. Likewise with hotel rooms which were ready with the room keys as soon as we stepped off the coach into the hotel on each stop over. Fantastic service. Our tour guide Benjamin was absolutely fabulous & not only organised every detail but was very funny, informative & made the whole trip exciting & feel fresh every day. He is an absolute star in the APT camp & without him the trip would not have been the same. Our coach driver Darren also needs mentioning as every day he drove he made you feel very safe & relaxed due to his great careful & considered driving, a very experienced driver. So glad we booked this trip & loved every day of it. Many thanks to all the APT staff putting this one together 10/10 from us.

A cruise "on the cheap".
Although we paid more than we usually do with other companies.
Ice cream for desert every lunch time. Buffet Lunch with long queues
Poor quality guides on some coach trips who were not interested in keeping the group together.
Little time on excursions to visit places of interest. "If you want to go into the church - be back here in 7 minutes"
An excellent entertainer - but how many quizzes in a fortnight?
Lacking in information - "if you want a map of where you are visiting - It's on the wall, "take a photo!"
Australian guests appeared to have more information prior to the trip including name badges, luggage labels and detailed itineraries well in advance.

There are many things that went to make this a memorable river cruise. All staff were friendly and smiling all the time. The food choice and quality was superb. The trips away from the boat were excellent and very informative. The only negative point was the transit from Bucharest airport to the boat was affected by traffic delays and in the end we had to go to the boat on the Bulgaria side as the boat had already transited across the river. There was a significant delay across the Friendship bridge and we did not finally board the boat till 21:30. However the crew were very good and we were whisked away for dinner and we picked up our room keys after dinner. Whilst not a good start, the cruise wax still excellent. The BA flight arrived 20 minutes early although there was a delay in getting the luggage. We noticed the BA flight now arrives some two hours latter than schedule a couple of weeks ago. If APT had recognised this we should have gone straight to the Bulgarian point. The driver of the coach spoke no English so all the passengers were in the dark to what was happening.

I would give a 4.5 if I could, because there were only two minor points which stopped a five out of five. Firstly to be clear, every staff member on board from the Captain down, from reception, to housekeeping, bar, restaurant, entertainment, guides ship staff and management were outstanding at all times. Also the food provided was excellent at all times. They all deserve a 5 out of 5. My only minor issues were:

1. After a really hot and sweaty day of walking around on a guided tour, I would have preferred a nice cooling plunge pool on the upper deck rather than warming up even more in the hot tub that is actually on the upper deck.

2. There was a bar area on the upper deck which was used for storage, but no bar service available on the upper deck.

I accept these are minor issues, thus a 4.5 out of 5, but to reiterate, every individual we met was a credit to the company and should be commended on their hard work and dedication in ensuring the outstanding experience we encountered.

The ship, the crew & food were excellent but I was put off by other guests:
1. They do not change for dinner.
2. They turned for dinner in shorts, t-shirts & flip flops, the same clothes they’ve been wearing all day.
3. They took off their footwear in the lounge after dinner & we’ve to put up with the foul smell.
4. They picked up food with their fingers at buffet, locked their fingers & then moved on to the next dish

Initially when I booked I assumed that it was actually on APT cruise and not travel marvel.
The staff were great but the passengers were a bit scruffy . Fancy sitting next to passengers straggling in for dinner with shorts, sweaty T-Shirts and smelly feet with flip flops!!! Although already mentioned by the cruise director on dress code, it was still ignored
Food for dinner were not great. On some evenings it was appalling especially the main course.

Appalling weather but you did well to still run the cruise, give us refreshments. We got very, very wet and cold and saw very little but not your fault and thank you for trying!
