Avoid this roaster. Poor business practices and over-roasted burned beans.
Purchased four bags of expensive Yemen peaberry and flat coffee beans from this roaster, supposedly "medium roast." Upon arrival, I opened one each of the peaberry and flat beans and discovered they were medium-dark roasted beans, not medium roasted beans. Brewing with both types of beans confirmed this, as the taste was burnt and ashy (not what most people are looking for in a medium roast). Contacted the company and was told to return them for a full refund. I paid for return shipping, and was then informed I'd be given a $20 store credit for both of the two opened bags and a refund for the unopened bag (I couldn't find the 4th bag for the return). I got a song and dance about food items not being returnable if opened (which they knew in advance was what I would be sending them). Then radio silence by e-mail when I asked them to return the unopened beans that I paid $110.00 plus tax for. Then I called them, and they said they'd call me back. Didn't happen, so I called them again and I wound up speaking with a rude and combative person. Deal with these people as you see fit, but IMHO they don't know how to run a reputable business, and they certainly do not know how to roast coffee beans properly. Avoid this roaster.
