Staff are knowledgeable and always willing to do any research needed to put a realistic estimate on items. Auctioneers have a good style and always try to achieve the best price from the bidders.

Bought a DVD player in the auction and when received it the plug had been cut off which raised suspicion. Plug put on and unit connected to monitor but on power up there was no display, inserted DVD but there was no response from the player and display still blank.
Asked for refund but the response was electrical items are decorative items !
There was no mention of item for scrap, repair or parts so item not as advertised. Have bought many items at auctions but this is the first time I have been scammed.
Also standard charge for P&P is ludicrous.

First time selling at auction, so pleased to have chosen East Bristol. Special thanks to Lucy who was very patient and helpful. She gave advice without any hard sell, her valuations were spot on and communication was excellent. Everything was so well organised, already planning our next one.

They were really friendly I've never sold or been to an auction at all I had stuff my late husband collected that will never be displayed or neices and nephews wouldn't want so best was to auction and gad my money for lots sold when they said I would get it I couldn't fault them and would recommend and use them again for sure x

BEFORE you bid find out your delivery costs especially if you use their recommended in-house agents.
Recently bought a ring hammer price £130 and in addition to Buyer's premium of £30.42 they charged a further £27 59 just for delivery. The Post Office would only charge about £6 for signed delivery with insurance. Outrageous charge and won't be using this Company again.

Agreed with the auction house to collect items days in advance, drove over two hours to collect to find out that half the item we purchased could not be found.

The service has been bad before but this is just a joke

Sold a set of books through this great auction house. The staff were a delight to deal with. Straightforward and helpful in estimates (even though my items were very difficult to price). They have great Internet connected sales room. The fees are super easy to understand (no complicated pricing, listing fees, photography charges etc.) Why 4 stars? My items drew lower prices than I would have liked, but I can't fault the auction house for that. They really tried.

The best packing from an auction house I have ever experienced.....by far. Purchased a very large mineral and fossil collection which arrived together over 5 boxes, each item was very well packaged and carefully placed, very impressed.
My husband and I have bought from auctions for years and never had such good service on the post/pack/delivery and the lady that I spoke to at the auction was very friendly and helpful. Thank you.

I used East Bristol Auctions Ltd for a house clearance following my father's death, and to sell a number of items from that house at auction. Awful experience. Avoid.

East Bristol Auction Rooms are a wonderful professional and helpful service! We were faced with clearing and selling my mother in law’s lifetime collection of antiques and collectibles in her Clifton rented flat of 57 years. It was a daunting prospect and when my dear mother in law became ill in her eighties we were increasingly daunted by the prospect. Finally the inevitable happened and she passed away, bless her, and we had two months to sort her flat on top of our busy working lives. What were we to do?!
Then we contacted The East Bristol auction rooms and we haven’t looked back. They valued all the items we asked them to, cataloguing and listing them as they went and their very professional clearance team removed all the bigger furniture and cleared the flat of all the junk quickly and efficiently. We kept the items we wished to and the rest have been sold on for good prices in auctions to people who themselves will value them. They took commission, which is fair enough, and the fee for the clearance was very reasonable. We are very pleased with every aspect of their service and would highly recommend them.
