Abu dhabi airport. I delivered the car in 24 september. when in 19 september i took the car and gave a deposit with my debit card of 734,00euro they strongly assured me that in 40 work-days i had my deposit back. 60 days passed and i m still fighting to have my money back. I also spoke with my lawyer. I WAIT FEW DAYS MORE, THAN I LL GO THERE PERSONALLY TO MAKE A MESS.

Je vous écris au sujet d’un problème persistant concernant la restitution de ma caution de 3000 AED, prélevée lors de la location d'un véhicule auprès de votre agence Avis à l’aéroport d'Abu Dhabi. En l’absence de carte de crédit, j’avais versé cette caution avec ma carte de débit, comme requis par votre agence. Le personnel m'avait assuré que le montant me serait restitué un mois après la fin de la location.

Malgré plusieurs relances par e-mail et des promesses de remboursement, je n'ai toujours reçu aucun remboursement. Nous sommes aujourd'hui le 13 novembre, et le délai initial est largement dépassé.

Cette situation est non seulement désagréable mais aussi contraire aux engagements de votre enseigne. Si aucune action n'est prise dans les plus brefs délais pour me restituer cette somme, je me verrai dans l’obligation d’entamer des démarches légales pour obtenir gain de cause.

Je vous remercie de me contacter au plus vite avec une solution concrète et rapide. Je tiens également à exprimer ma déception quant à cette expérience et à conseiller à d'autres clients potentiels d'éviter cette agence pour ne pas subir le même désagrément.

Hands down the worst post rental experience with any car rental company in the world. This franchise of Avis is operated by a bunch of crooks.... and I say this with factual evidence rather than with emotional frustration.

Rather than collect the vehicle from the downtown location, I opted to have the car delivered to my hotel for a nominal fee. However in order to do so they insisted on taking the AED3000.00 security deposit up front on top of the delivery fee.

Don't worry we'll refund the security deposit within 45 working days after your rental.
Fast forward 4 months post rental and after multiple chases and excuses as to why the money hasn't been refunded it finally landed back to my credit card this week.

I thought that was finally the end of the matter but the sting in the tail was multiple fraudulent attempts to use my credit card in the UAE for small amounts which triggered a security alert with my credit card company. (I've not been to UAE since June). My credit card account is currently frozen while my account is re-secured and a new card issued.

Will not use this cowboy company again. Ever. Buyer please be aware over what you're getting into.

Two months and I still haven't received the deposit , and after all the international calls and emails , all of them were false promises. I filed a complaint with the parent company in America and they opened an investigation into the matter, but I have to wait an additional 30 days for the investigation. I leave it to you to judge this company, but for me it doesn't even deserve a one star...

They stole my deposit and keep playing games that they will refund it and send me the slip

Even though the check in and check out processes were smooth and fast, my experience with AVIS is quite terrible. After two months, I still didn’t get my deposit back. I thought my first bad experience with AVIS in France was an anomaly but my experience in the UAE confirmed how bad the client service is in that company. I will never use their rental services again.

They have took a deposit of over £1000.00 for the car rental at the airport and this hasn't been refunded yet, I have written to them few times and I had no response from them. So please think twice before you make any deposit to them. They are proper cons and scammers.

The course of the rental was fine, but I still do not have the deposit of 3.000 AED, the vehicle was according to the protocol in order returned

As an Avis President's Club member, I must express my disappointment with the service at the Abu Dhabi branch. I was charged a deposit of 3000 AED on my card, and I was informed that it would be released after 15 days. However, more than 30 days have passed, and the deposit has yet to be refunded. This delay is not in line with Abu Dhabi's consumer rights regulations.

I raised this issue via email with Kelly Hanies and Mohammed Alfatih Arbab, and although I received an apology from Zakaria Hamil, the deposit is still being withheld. Even escalating the matter to Mr. Smith, the General Manager, has not resolved the issue.

I have now escalated the case to Consumer Rights Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Avis UAE, not even as a President's Club member.

Wish I google about this company before renting them in May. Was told that they accepted only credit card and I had only debit..they went ahead with my debit card and took 3000aed which till now I have yet to get it back. I was also told to take their insurance eventhough I alr opted for insurance in booking.com . The number they gave use to have ppl replying back to messages but now it’s auto reply. I have already lodged a report to booking.com. They also charged my card the toll amount even though they previously said will be deducted from the deposit amount.

We rented a car from Dubai 3rd Terminal branch on June 16. They took a deposit of 3000 dirhams (26850 TL) from us. They said it would be paid within 15 business days. 45 business days have passed and they have not paid. Turns out they were taking 3000 dirhams from everyone and not paying. These are scammers. I wish I had looked at the comments here and rented it that way. Don't waste your money on these.

avoid this company. very bad service. I rented a car from the airport and after driving the car it turns out that there is a problem with the engine. Reported via Whtsap and was supposed to arrive within 2 hours, but that did not happen. They are very difficult to reach by telephone. now a day has passed without being walked and I can't use the car. It's a waste of money to stress renting a car from this company. find another company that offers good service

They took money from my unauthorized credit card without my approval. I think they cloned my credit card. I canceled immediately. Let's see when they will refund the 3000 AED deposit!

DON't RENT A CAR FORM THEM IF YOU WANT TO HAVE HAPPY HOLIDAYS, THEY ARE THIEVES, AND THEY TAKE YOUR DEPOSIT AND WILL NEVER RETURN TO YOU.

If I could put zero, I would put zero! thieves !!!! they never refunded me the deposit paid in February 2024. it is June now

Absolutely terrible experience, basically scamming you thinking everyone is an idiot. I booked a 7 passenger Toyota SUV prior to my arrival. The confirmation was successful and the email stated the car is ready. After a 14 hour flight I arrived to pick up the SUV. Turns out, they didn't have any SUV'S ready and no options for SUV's. Instead they provided me a Dodge Charger..... when I told them that I needed a SUV they were trying to convicne me that the Dodge Charger is a similar vehicle and I should be happy... I have been working in the Automotive field (Sales Manager at a Car Dealership) for over 10 years insulting for them to try to manipulate me saying its the same status of car. What a joke of a company. In addition. When I returned the car, they began the B.S of saying there's scratches and dents on a POS charger that was damaged to begin with, car had 15,000KM. Luckily I took pictures of when I picked it up proving that the damage was already there. (I Had to fight with the guy when I returned it in Abu Dhabi Airport nearly missing my flight) What a joke and headache. You will literally get 100x better service from a smaller company like Abu Dhabi Rent a car and also pay 1/4 of the price. They also wanted $2000 CAD Deposit ! LOOL STAY FAR AWAY... its almost as if they think everyone is clueless and just plain stupid.

I paid 3000Derhams from my debit card as deposit, and i when i gived back the car it was i very good case, and the mentioned in contract that they will refund me after one month after the contract finish.
When I contact them, they say that refund it’s under process, and i am jus waiting my money

I have been charged for a full tank of gas even though I returned the car with a full tank. Despite my email of dissatisfaction and the check out report, I received no response or any modification to my invoice.
I do not recommend Avis to anyone.

Jeg skulle vente 1time for at afhente bilen. for at aflevere bilen Al khan Sharjah var lukket, ansvarlig for Al khan har lukket sin mobil og vil ikke svar på sms'er.
Avis rent car UAE har ikke svaret mit opkald efter over en time venter tid. til sidst jeg har afleveret bilen til parkering vægten. man skal finde medarbejder der har respekt for tid of aftaler. I hate the culture of (see you if God will) in some countries.
