James was very skilled in running the auction and didn't pressurise or have any awkward gaps !

James conducted an absolutely amazing Charity auction for us - and overall we raised over £12,000. It was a fun filled evening thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

James Lewis did an amazing job in helping us organize our first black tie fundraising event. He made good suggestions regarding how additional money could be raised besides the main auction. The latter he conducted with good humour and skill. Over £12,000 was raised for VCIDS!

James was great at a recent charity auction, such a good character that pushed the bids to make more for the charity. It was very entertaining and fun.

The auctioneer did a great job to maximise contributions for this worthwhile charity and he was entertaining.

I have used Bamfords of Derby and Rowsley before . Every member of staff offers a friendly face and full attention. Every client is treated with the utmost respect.
My visit on this occasion related to antique jewellery. I was introduced to Kerri Keeling, Bamford's leading expert on antique and modern jewellery. Having laid out the various items, Kerri was quick to give a detailed history of each item, giving her estimate of the likely value, and advising upon a lower and upper sale auction recommendation. During the period before the auction date, I needed to raise queries on a couple of occasions. Kerri was very swift in response, and gave the appropriate advice. On the date of the Auction, the sales went very smoothly. Our items all sold for well above the suggested " come and buy me" price. Kerri had said that the items could go way above the initial prices, and how right she was! Throughout, kerri has acted on my behalf in a totally professional manner, generating my utmost confidence in Kerri,and Bamfords.

I found Kerri very knowledgeable and extremely helpful.The price estimates she gave me were very acceptable

First time using an auctioneer to sell some unwanted items, mainly jewellery. We used the Rowsley site and dealt with Kerry Keeling. Kerry was really nice and very knowledgeable. Every item sold and went above its reserve. We were very pleased with the whole experience. Will use again and definitely would recommend.

Olivia was absolutely brilliant when I was trying to book some items in for the next general sale. She was polite and helpful throughout the whole process. 10 out of 10.

I immediately felt at ease when I met Kerri for a valuation of jewellery and enjoyed chatting with her whilst she methodically worked through all the items. Kerri showed genuine interest in the family stories behind the jewellery and it was very clear that she enjoys her job and has a good knowledge and enthusiasm of vintage items. At the same time, she reassured me that I wasn't wasting her time with items that were of no value. She discussed with me the process of selling items at auction so I was fully aware of what to expect when I agreed to proceed with Bamfords. Items are put forward again at subsequent auctions if no take up initially.
I feel confident with Kerri's involvement in the process of valuation and itemising the items and highly recommend her.

Not happy with the way they auctioned our items.
They grouped a lot of items into a huge lot which did not recognise that some of the pieces were valuable! For example, a piece of Meissen was lumped in with other less valuable items and not even identified in the listing for that group. They also misplaced two chairs and after 4 months of us asking when they would be auctioned,they notified us that they had been disposed of as they did not have fire labels. Why they did not tell us before doing so is still unknown as we would have collected them and kept them ourselves.

Excellent valuation from Kerri. I learned an awful lot and Kerri and the team couldn't have been more helpful. Kerri has so much knowledge and expertise. It was great to hear that some items were actually quite lovely and that others were basically a bit rubbish!!! I will definitely be consigning some items with Bamfords.

I have used Bamfords to sell multiple items for me this year. From my first contact in spring through to early summer I was treated with courtesy on every occasion. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful, particularly Olivia and Ian. The emotional attachment to my late mothers effects and my childhood toys was recognised from the outset. All items auctioned met or exceeded their estimated valuations. Additionally it was great to be present at one of the auctions with James presiding and his professionalism was clear to see.
