This auction is hilarious to listen to. They can sell £5 items for £1,000. If you are looking a bargain, it is best to avoid these people who reside within in a bubble.

The bidders are delusional.

Bamford Auction House at Derby, is the most outstanding, organised, approachable, extremely helpful group of individuals I have meet. If there is an award to present I would hugely recommended Bamford Auction House.
When you go in it is relaxed and friendly at all times.
All staff are polite and friendly, and extremely helpful and are highly knowledgeable. If you need help transferring your lots in or out of the sale room, you are always offered help. I have worked in Customer Service over forty years, and this is why it is important to give feedback when you experience such extremely high standards that Bamfords offer the clients or visitors. thank you Teresa

Collette and everyone including behind the scenes are superb ! Friendly and attentive and it doesn't matter who you are you are given the V I P treatment. I even had Mr Lewis ask me if someone was looking after me.

From start to finish consigning my items to auction was a smooth process . I wholeheartedly think they are the best auction house around.

First class from start to finish. Big shout out to Peter who went above and beyond to assist with a shipping query once I had already won the lot. Which was then expertly packaged with care ready to be collected. Polite, helpful and super friendly, I will definitely be back soon! I’d give you 6 stars of if I could!

At the last auction at Rowsley, Olivia was extremely courteous and helpful in assisting me with lots that I wanted to view. I always find the Bamford's team to ge friendly and helpful, and I'm looking forward to the next auction.

Following a free valuation from James of 2 items at Ashby de La Zouch recently I mentioned I had several other items jewellery, pictures, china etc I would be interested in having valued and possibly selling. On being told to “fill the car” and come to Spondon I decided to do this. From my initial phone call to arrange a valuation, meeting Colette who is very knowledgeable and valued my items, and deciding to sell I have been very impressed. I have been kept up to date on the whole procedure by email which as a first time seller is very helpful. Some items have now been sold and it was interesting to be able to watch the sale live on my iPad. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bamfords, especially to anyone unsure about selling, the whole process up to now has been excellent.

The team at both Rowsley and Spondon are always so polite and helpful. When at Rowsley the staff make me feel as if I am their first customer and nothing is ever too much trouble. The porters will always let you check items before the sale, thoroughly and the customer service is first class. Advice is very professional and without bias. Top class service.

I consigned in May they told me my items would be in a auction in June. They then held on to the items until a sale in September which meant they could charge nearly 50% in commission....

Be vary wary using these guys. They sell items that they're aware aren't in working condition and don't include this in the description. I just got conned out of £800 for what is now essentially an overpriced door stop. I tried to resolve it with them and after taking ages to respond and me chasing them, they basically shrug their shoulders and tell me it's my responsibility deal with now they have the money. Be extremely cautious!

I don't know what has happened to Bamfords, they've lost the personal touch. I've used them for auctions for 15 years, but my last win failed me. 100-year-old very rare pottery. A guide of £20/£40, hammer of £650 - I found heavy-duty tape stuck to lids, which removed the enamel when peeled off. A request for James to contact me... he never did, equally annoying that I had introduced him to a client who wished the auction house to sell his large collection of ceramics I'd looked at professionally. Not even a 'thank you' for the introduction and I understand James was more interested in the furniture and upset the 82-year-old client by his attitude. His business has gone elsewhere !

I use bamfords nearly every auction as buying to resell for cancer charity. I have bought many random unique items and the service during and after the sale is superb from help packing and loading to condition reports and advice from and by all staff not only many bargains to be bought but an enjoyable experience and have made many friends and is also great day out.

Always accommodating and helpful with an amazingly broad spectrum of knowledge. Brilliant team! I cant praise them enough!
