Greenwood- Modern Finance for the Culture Reviews 

I am happy to be part of the Greenwood family and have not had any issues with opening my account, getting my card or adding money. My experience has been smooth and I'm very impressed with the apps functionality. Don't be swayed by these negative comments...they are probably "Bots" trying to disparage a minority bank.

I wanted to support the culture but the customer service was not good at all. I was suppose to receive my direct deposit through them. When I didn’t receive it I called the customer service and asked if there was a hold and the rep said he wouldn’t know! Then I asked if there is any pending payments and the rep responded “I can see that so I wouldn’t know” . So then I asked if the policy for early pay day applied and he said not everytime. Asked the rep what happens if my funds don’t show up and AGAIN he replied with a dry”there is nothing we can do”. I was really happy to be apart of something that represents my culture but sadly will never use them again. Every bank can usually answer the simple questions I asked but they were no help.

I couldn’t even open an account. I applied on December 2nd 2022 after waiting almost 2 years to apply to get in. Then they were supposed to send the link after 24hrs of applying. I emailed to inquire didn't receive a response but the link came on December 5th. All they asked for was my drivers license. Submitted that and it’s now December 13th and it’s still pending. I called and waited 15 mins to withdraw my application. This is the worst customer service. I was rooting for this bank to succeed but I don’t see how it will with practices like this

Absolutely the slowest bank I’ve ever dealt with ever. Cashapp is instant everywhere else except these people.

Use this card at your own risks. Deposits take forever!!!

I started an application and stopped midway after reading the fine print. They took my information and opened an account anyway. I tried contacting them many times with no response. Just another financial institution taking advantage of folks.

Had an account for a little over two months. Red flags from the beginning.

Felt a little uneasy when I found out my money would not be handled by a black owned black. Yes I understand the concept of fin-tech banking, but I find it hard to believe they couldn’t find a black or minority owned bank to back them.

Customer service is poor. They ask for sensitive information over email to verify your account and then when I send it they don’t respond. This has happened more then once. Days would past and I would reach out again asking for an update, only to get a different representative, apologizing for the last ones “mistake”.

My card still hasn’t arrived after 2+ months, making it difficult to effectively bank with them. Sadly I decided to end the relationship with Greenwood Bank and stay solely with OneUnited. Even then when I reached out to close the account I was asked to verify the account (which is fine) and once the information was sent I got NO RESPONSE. That was 4 days ago.

It doesn’t feel like a real financial institution. My advice is wait until they grow (if they grow). But as of right now I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone I actually liked.

I seriously considered opening an account with Greenwood Bank but here is why I would never do business with Greenwood Bank. When the Co-founder make a nasty video and calling people the N-word I would never want to be associated with a bank that claims to be black owned yet continue with the misogynistic behavior, crass attitude and have an issue with people having a differing of opinion.

When I decide to put money into a bank I do not expect Founder, Co-founders to take a political stance and disparage the very people they are trying to attract. I was expecting a more professional organization both internally and externally in representing its clients and potential clients. Anyone that follows a rapper who have no respect for women, culture or refrains from using the N-word does not deserve my business.

I recently changed to this bank thinking everything I read was legit. Not so, for starters, my money landed in my account on the 28, they wouldn't release my funds. I read that when your money hits is available. That's not the case. False advertisement. They hold your money for what I don't know but they they were holding my money and would not release it until the 1st of the month when my money was in that account on the 28th. I'm very dissatisfied with this bank. I changed all my money over to this bank and this is what's happening to me. No good

I really liked Greenwood because it was a BLACK OWNED BANK. I have USAA and Wells Fargo but I was so excited to start banking black, but I’ve had a horrible experience. The app really isn’t that great but my main issue has been this: Iinked my greenwood account to my cash app and had been actively sending money from my cash app to my greenwood account instantly. (The money posted instantly). Over a week ago I cashed out $2875 from my cash app to my greenwood bank account and paid cash app $50 to send it instantly and it never showed in my account. I contacted cash app and they gave me all the info proving it was sent to my greenwood account and reimbursed me the $50 fee for sending it instantly. They told me to contact my bank, I did. I had to call greenwood multiple times and got several different responses about my money. Now they are saying it take 2-4 business days for cash app deposits to go to my account, but I never had an issue with sending money instantly before. I will be reporting to the BBB and taking legal action against greenwood if my money isn’t in my account soon. I’m so disappointed in this bank.

Terrible banking service. Charges for every and anything. Friendly employees over the phone, but terrible service overall. Member benefits are extremely difficult to find information on much less use

Don’t waste ur time ! Declining issues for a bank account . Please my money ur just a building just like every other bank . I waited for what reason? Reminds me of the same racial discrimination hatred like other credit card and bank do black people ! Take ur joke applications go get investors too check account so they can invest in nothing as other banker do ! Ready for decline for no reason to hold my money !!!

I love it! App very user friendly.. I was able to transfer funds from another institution easily. No issues here. Have not set up direct deposit yet, want to have a complete year first just in case any glitches.

The customer service is A+. I am very happy with my first customer service experience.

The platform just needs a way to do mobile check deposits.

At this time I’m neither having a good nor bad experience with greenwood. I joined because I want to bank black.

Just grateful for this platform and an opportunity to participate in the building and preservation of Black Wealth.

This banks offers what I need, it services my people & our community.... For that alone, I am proud!

Loving the bank but the App is terrible!!

It’s functional. I’d recommend it.
