False claims about Ninjatrader and Orderflow Capability
During research into retail futures trading platforms supporting market-by-order (MBO) data capabilities, I encountered the BestOrderFlow platform and conducted preliminary due diligence. This analysis identifies several areas of concern that warrant careful consideration before engagement.
Background
As part of evaluating software solutions for order flow analysis, I investigated various platforms' MBO data capabilities. As an existing customer of NinjaTrader and MotiveWave, I sought to understand BestOrderFlow's claims regarding MBO data integration and chart presentation.
Key Findings
1. Pricing and Transparency Concerns
The platform requires a $1 registration fee via PayPal without providing transparent upfront pricing information. While nominal fees are not uncommon, the lack of clear pricing structure raises questions about business transparency.
2. Domain Registration Analysis
Domain registration records indicate the use of a privacy service based in Iceland. Independent research by The Reykjavík Grapevine has documented this address's association with problematic activities, including identity theft, disinformation campaigns, and ransomware operations. The New York Times has also reported on how the "Withheld for Privacy" service at this location has been exploited by malicious actors. While domain privacy services are legitimate business tools, the choice of this particular service provider presents reputational risk considerations.
3. Technical Capability Verification
Direct confirmation with NinjaTrader's support team indicates that MBO data is not available through their platform. Similarly, MotiveWave does not expose MBO data through its SDK. This raises questions about how BestOrderFlow can deliver MBO-based functionality when the underlying data providers do not support this capability.
4. Business Communication Standards
Communications in the platform's Discord channel included statements that could be interpreted as coercive regarding user compliance with specific requirements. Professional service providers typically employ collaborative rather than threatening communication approaches with subscribers.
5. Competitive Analysis Accuracy
Public materials contain inaccurate statements regarding competitor capabilities, specifically claiming that Bookmap software lacks filtering and order size display features that are demonstrably available in that platform.
Recommendations
These findings suggest the need for enhanced due diligence before committing to this platform. Potential users should:
Request detailed technical documentation of MBO data sourcing and processing
Seek transparent pricing information
Verify all claimed capabilities through independent testing
Consider the implications of the chosen domain privacy service on business credibility
This analysis is based on publicly available information (their website and videos postedon YouTube) and direct vendor communications. It does not constitute an allegation of fraudulent activity, but rather identifies areas requiring additional clarification for informed decision-making.
