Failed Order, No Accountability, and Unacceptable Customer Service

I placed an order with Big Barker for a dog bed that cost close to $500 to help an elderly rescue dog in pain. Due to an issue within their ordering/fulfillment system, the order was shipped to the wrong address. I contacted the company's customer service department when I discovered the error, and was shocked by their response. Despite being informed that the issue originated on their end, they failed to take basic corrective steps, such as contacting UPS to resolve or redirect the shipment, and instead shifted responsibility onto me. This was not simply an inconvenience; rather, it was a failure to take any responsibility whatsoever for a preventable issue, followed by not only a lack of meaningful effort to resolve it, but a deliberate attempt to deflect responsibility and escalate the situation rather than resolve it. The delay directly impacted a vulnerable animal in pain and caused avoidable physical and emotional distress. At one point, they were holding both the merchandise and my payment while at the same time sending emails stating their refusal to issue a refund! Notably, their customer service contact address begins with “wecare'" yet I found through my experience that the exact opposite is true.
I am documenting this matter and pursuing further action, but I would strongly encourage others to consider this before doing business with this company.

Barker Beds is Unethical and Completely Incompetent

I have endured the absolute worst customer service experience of my life with this horrible company. I paid nearly $500 for an orthopedic bed for a senior rescue dog who desperately needs it, and never received it. Rather than take responsibility for their online ordering system's faulty programming, the so-called "customer service" rep at Barker Beds repeatedly told me:
(a) that the shipping error was my fault when it most certainly was not,
(b) there was nothing they could do about it, and believe me, they have NOT done ONE thing about the fact that I never received my order, including ship out a new order OR reimburse me, let alone try to find the missing package.
(c) instead of filing a claim with UPS as they immediately should have done, their lazy customer service rep told ME (the receiver! NOT the one who shipped the package) to deal with UPS myself. I spent several stress-filled hours on the phone and online trying to tracking down the package with UPS (something Barker Beds should have handled). When UPS eventually located my order (because of MY hard work and insistence) at a facility within a 20 minute drive of my home, I asked if I could drive there to get it, but UPS assured me it would be delivered to me the next day. But I never received it. Guess why? Because right before UPS was about to ship it to me, that customer service rep at Barker Beds decided to file a claim in which they had them ship that bed which I OWN BECAUSE I PAID FOR IT (No, Barker Bed, you are NOT the rightful owners. I paid for it. I am the owner.) back to Ohio to their facility. Now WHY would they do that when I called and TOLD them that UPS told me they would deliver it to me the next day? Ask yourself, WHY would they DELIBERATELY try to prevent someone who bought a bed and paid for it from receiving it? I communicated to the head of the so-called "customer service" (at Barker Beds, it should be "customer antagonizing department", that I had already filed a claim and the outcome. She KNEW that UPS had located my missing Barker Bed order, the so-called "customer service" (what an oxymoron!) staff had my order sent back to Ohio instead!!!!
Today, I am left with:
No product
No refund
Absolutely no accountability on the part of Barker Beds.
Just hours upon hours of stress and aggravation from completely incompetent so-called "customer service" representatives lead by a woman named Keisha who kept telling me there was nothing they could do to help me. I wish I had the refund for every time that woman said, "It's not our policy." So, let's clarify: Barker Bed's policy is to first place all of the blame onto the customer for THEIR mistake and then to make the customer pay for Barker Bed's incompetence. They put it all on ME, the customer, to find a lost UPS package that was delivered to the wrong address due to THEIR poor programming. For all practical purposes, this company STOLE $500 from me. Purchasing such an expensive bed for a needy animal was a huge sacrifice for me. And do you think Barker Beds CARES ONE IOTA about the animal that is suffering because of their carelessness?
Most other professional organizations would have long ago issued a refund or sent out another bed.
To make matters even worse, keep in mind that I was repeatedly blamed and told I entered the wrong address which is completely false!! I entered the accurate address, but their poorly designed online ordering form is obviously not working property.
Why didn't the "head of the so-called customer service team named Keisha" let me know that? SHE KNEW I spent nearly an entire day trying to track that bed down. But when she decided to file a claim and have the bed returned to them, did she let ME know? Of course not! Keisha couldn't be bothered! Then, when I called and spoke to a so-called customer service rep named Aurora that the bed was no longer in my city but headed to hers, she said she would “look into it and call me back.” Of course, she NEVER called me back after promising to help me. When I got tired of waiting, I finally called her again many hours later.... and guess what she said, "Well... there's nothing I can do.... I don't have authority to do anything, so that's why I didn't call you back."
I was literally in shock. I felt like they were repeatedly punching me in the stomach and then laughing about it!
Completely and utterly DISGUSTING treatment of the people who pay their salaries!
This company took my money and has done NOTHING -- NOT ONE THING to fix THEIR mistake. If you value your time, your money, and your sanity, do not order anything from Barker Beds. I personally believe they are entertained by causing suffering. And that is who Barker Beds is.

Bad quality

Bad quality. It seems after the company got sold, beds are made in China with poor quality and cheap foam

Terrible experience with big barker

Terrible experience with big barker. We ordered our bed 2 weeks ago and it still says it hasn’t shipped yet. I have reached out to the several times and are only met with ai bot replies. Their entire customer service team is run by an ai bot company. They refuse to cancel the order. They refuse to refund the order. And all they keep telling me is that they will look into it. You think buying the most expensive dog beds on the market would get you a better experience but I guess that’s the day and age we live in.

My family fosters dogs…

My family fosters dogs for various rescues and we usually take small dogs but there was a large senior female in dire need. So, in anticipation of her arrival I ordered a Big Barker bed way in advance since it came highly recommended. A few days before Daisy’s arrival the bed still hadn’t come. I contacted BB and they say that UPS delivered it. They did not deliver it to me. I was at that point forced to buy a bed locally as Daisy was arriving in 3 days. Barker made a claim w/UPS and I received an email and responded. Barker claimed that I did not. They still will not help us. This is a huge strain on our budget. I’m a single mom with a child who is medically fragile and I’ve explained that to them. That coupled with our other 2 fosters makes it hard to stretch our money. But ok. This is who they are when their choice of delivery service fails. Just be warned.

Great quality dog beds/Recommend Big Barker Beds

Great quality dog beds, helpful customer service assistance, and timely delivery of their products. My dogs enjoy these beds.
I have ordered dog beds twice from Big Barker; once in 2021 when I ordered two Junior dog beds, and once in 2024 when I ordered a large orthopedic sofa dog beds.
Even though Big Barker markets their products for big dogs, my two miniature schnauzers and chihuahua-mix enjoy the beds.
The beds have thick comfortable cushioning with head rests, and the orthopedic bed has three-sided cushions and the temperature adjusting insert.
The dogs double up on the large bed and they rotate using the junior beds.
My dogs like the beds so much that I’m considering on buying another bed because you can never have too many dog beds, or dogs for that matter. Highly recommend this company. I hope they keep of the quality of their products and customer service.

Incredible beds!

Such high quality beds! They may be a bit more expensive, but it's the only bed your dog will ever need. Especially with a ten year warranty. It'll save you so much money in the long run rather than buying cheap beds every 6 months that don't even support your dog in the first place!

Best Dog Bed Company ever!

I had ordered a Big Barker bed years ago. It was starting to compress and my aging mastiff wasn't getting much good out of it. I contacted Big Barker and sent pictures of the bed. Next thing I knew, there was a NEW UPGRADED bed in the mail!!!! It turned out that I needed a larger size. Before I even returned the other one, they had sent a NEW bed!!! This company is amazing. The beds are awesome and the staff are courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. BEST DOG BEDS EVER MADE!!!!!!! They are truly committed to customer satisfaction and take pride in their company and their product. As they should! Well done!
