Brant Self Storage Reviews 

I recently contacted Brant on the Isle of Wight. From the first phone call they were extremely helpful, guiding me through the storage process, online forms etc, and suggesting a local moving company. My circumstances changed which meant I no longer needed storage, but it was easy to cancel and again, a pleasure to deal with this company. I would have no hesitation in recommending them!

Excellent service received by all the staff at Brant Self Storage from the time of enquiry to putting our caravan on our storage pitch. We even had a nice man help put the caravan cover on which we very much appreciated as it was getting dark and raining.

Location, convenience and ease of parking of the Alton depot is great but being able to access the room at any time of day is the one thing that stands out, especially after using other storage locations that close at 6pm most days and 4pm on a Sunday.

Misleading pricing agreement; was sent a marketing/promotional material and found out due about increase to a small line at the bottom advising of a "small" increase to your monthly costs

Very deceptive information provided by staff over rhe phone when receiving the quote

Will be clearing out my unit ASAP and never using again

We had to postpone on the day we were due to start using the storage unit. Brant were very understanding and have kindly agreed to hold our money as a credit, so when we are ready they will provide us with another unit.

Really good communication. Easy access and great location. Would use again when needed without considering anywhere else.

Unit was clean and easily accessible. No problems finding our store and advice was clear and succinct.

I was met by Chris Harman who couldn’t have been more helpful. The units are spotless and very easy to access. The security is top rate. I would certainly recommend anyone looking for storage to look no further as this site in Alton is hard to beat.

To help with our house move I rented a unit in Borden. The booking process was simple and quick and when I went to the Borden site I was very impressed by the security and the cleanliness of the actual unit. I was able to drive right up to the unit making loading very easy.

Honesty and openess are critical with customers and I regret to say that this is where Brant Storage need to improve. Their covert policy of advising vaguely of increases to storage fees isn't clever and creates an image of a company who are far from being completley transparent with their customers.

Two price hikes within a 12 month period equating to 14% increase are covertly mentioned in what on the surface appear to be a marketing emails. There is in no mention of how much the increase will be until such point as its taken by direct debit from your account. In my case the email I sent to query the increase was never acknowleged.

The mention of these price increases is literally the last sentence of a long drawn out marketing email full of images, their recommend a friend scheme and details of their services. It is not in the spirit of how things should be done. The title of their emails is"Storage" and give no indication of the important message namely being one of an upcoming price hike. The wording if you can find it states. "Your next 4 weekly billing cycle will have a small increase which we have kept to a minimum and is something we must do to continue to provide you with the quality service you have come to expect." Many may not view a 14% increase as being "small".

Inviting customers to leave comments on these platforms is nevertheless positive as it offers the public a chance to draw their own conclusions. For the companies concerned it alows them to consider their modus operandi. I am hopefully that this review may achieve at least one of the following:

1. Make potential customers aware of how this company chooses to currently operate and therefore make their decisions accordingly.

2. Encourage Brant Storage to adopt a more open way of advising customers of what will always be a sensitive subject.

I genuinely hope that it's the latter as both Brant Storage and its customers new and old will always benefit from complete tranparency.

I am not seeking any form of refund from Brant Storage. I just feel strongly that they have the need to change this policy for their own benefit and that of its customers.

A couple of times I had to call out of hours for the pin, and they were always polite and helpful. Also, sometimes had problems with the padlock and they were helpful with this too.

The staff were excellent and very polite, Units were very clean and well maintained. The Site is lovely and secure and in great surroundings.
