Was looking to purchase a 5 year anniversary gift and reached back out to Brian Gavin as my wife loved her hearts and arrows diamond for her engagement/wedding ring. Shocked to work with the same representative who assisted me with my initial purchase. My rep again was very helpful and made the diamond selection process a breeze. This round I purchased a blue diamond and silver necklace with a daisy-look floral a back which fit the 5 year "traditional" gift. Again Brian Gavin knocked it out the park and the fluorescent blue diamond makes it different and more special than any other diamond studded necklace. All I can say is, "Brian Gavin see you again for my 10 year gift!"

Not really quite a good experience for me!!

Brian Gavin personally helped me select the best emerald cut diamonds that were on the market. We worked together to create a hand-forged engagement ring and wedding band that are stunning!! Highly recommend for honest and personalized service!

We had a great first experience with Brian Gavin when they made my custom platinum engagement ring which is why we returned for a matching wedding band. That’s when everything changed.

They asked to hold my engagement ring to ensure a proper fit and offered to clean it. Instead of simply returning it polished, they called my fiancé—not me—with a nearly five-minute rant about how “very dirty” the ring was, blaming my lotion use and even my cooking habits for supposed damage.

Then they quoted $185 to “refill metal” in ten spots on a ring that had been gently worn for under eight months essentially suggesting their own craftsmanship was flawed. The photos they sent were harshly lit and clearly exaggerated to justify the charge.

When I asked to speak to someone else, the Director of Sales, who, I later learned, is also the owner's wife dismissed my concerns and defended the team’s behavior instead of addressing it.

It felt like dropping off clothes at the dry cleaner and being scolded for wearing them except this came with a side of high school gossip. They called my fiancé behind my back, insulted me (the person who chose both rings), and told me I “wasn’t the customer” because I didn’t swipe the card completely erasing me from my own purchase.

This company:
- Framed normal wear as “damage”
- Criticized my lifestyle to justify a charge
- Ignored my cancellation
- Refused to stand behind their own product

The entire ordeal changed how I see a ring that once held meaning. While we eventually got the wedding band refunded, the damage was already done.

Let this review be a warning: luxury should never feel like this.

I also saw the review from the customer Leslie called a liar and I believe every word. Leslie is the one who told my fiancé I was “dirty” behind my back. The unprofessionalism and sexism were blatant. At one point, the Director of Sales reduced me to a bystander, telling me I wasn’t the customer because my fiancé paid.

Ironically, I’m the one with more financial means and the one more likely to become a long-term client. But they treated me like I didn’t matter.

Even if your first experience goes smoothly, don’t get too comfortable. What should’ve been a joyful time shopping for our engagement and wedding rings turned into something ugly. If you're a woman, be prepared to be dismissed, insulted, and erased. We were returning clients who spent over $40,000, and this is how they chose to treat us. Respect should never come with a price tag and clearly, even that wouldn’t have been enough here.

It’s easy to see how they rack up glowing five-star reviews: most people only buy one ring. We had the same impression at first. But come back a second time, and the facade drops. That’s when the deception, deflection, and pressure tactics kick in all over a petty upsell that blamed me for “damage” to a ring they made. It wasn’t just insulting—it was revealing.

We couldn't be happier! The engagement ring was just so beautiful!!! It made me teary eyed and smily :) Absolutely STUNNING!! The craftsmanship and diamond were impressive!!! The sparkle is just wow! Quality is top notch! The box is even beautiful and well made. The certificates that come with the jewerly are very nice as well. Emily was such a great help in finding what we were looking for. Excellent communication and the team even sent me well wishes for my cats emergency when we had to pause our shopping. I highly recommend Brian Gavin. Thank you, thank you!

My husband and I recently purchased a Black by Brian Gavin diamond to be sent to a designer and set into a ring. We worked with Emily, who I understand has been there for quite some time. From the very beginning, Emily was incredibly responsive, kind, and thorough. She took her time walking me through the selection process, and answered my questions. She made sure I felt comfortable from choosing the diamond to confirming payment to coordinating shipping.

Emily worked well with my designer. She kept both of us in the loop, communicated clearly and promptly, and made what could have been a stressful process feel easy and smooth.

The diamond itself is stunning — exactly what we hoped for. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend working with Emily or Brian Gavin Diamonds.

While I can see that many people have positive experiences with this company, I had a bad experience. I was apprehensive to spend $3500 on a ring on the Internet, but after reading sites like this one, I was comforted about their quality.
When I initially received my ring I was thrilled at how gorgeous the diamond was! I was not as happy with the matching wedding band. On the inside of the wedding band, they had engraved their logo. But for whatever reason, they did not smooth the metal after engraving the logo and I could feel the metal scratching my skin when I tried the ring on. I immediately returned the wedding band because the rough metal made it feel cheap and the workmanship wasn't worth what I paid.
About a month after I received my engagement ring, I went to a local jeweler to find a wedding band. The jeweler asked me if I had worn the ring because he found several gouges in the gold. I never wore this ring and it remained in the box that I received it in. Unfortunately, when I received the ring, I had only admired the diamond but did not inspect the band.
When I did look more closely at the band, I was able to find several gouges in the gold. It looked like someone had squeezed the ring in a vice or a pair of pliers and the teeth of the tool gouged the gold.
I immediately contacted their customer service and my experience with this company rapidly went downhill even further. They immediately implied that I was lying that the ring had never been worn and they admonished themselves of any liability by saying that it was impossible that they sent a damaged ring. The gouges in the gold were big enough that I could take pictures with an iPhone camera. I explained to them that I was thoroughly comfortable with letting their jeweler inspect this ring. 18 karat gold scratches very easily and there would be no signs of wear on this ring as it hadn't left the box since it was delivered to my house. I spoke with more than one representative at this company and they both told me that it was impossible that they sent a damaged ring. In the beginning, I was apprehensive to wear a ring that could be damaged so easily, but I was willing to just have them fix it. After being called a liar repeatedly, I demanded a refund so that I could move on from this company.
After I threatened to dispute the charge with my credit card company they finally agreed to return the ring. I had the ring in my possession for six weeks and it never left the box that it came in.
After they received the ring back, Lesley took the time to send me another email that even after a thorough inspection, they could not locate any damage. Out of spite, she also deducted $35 from my refund to cover the cost of shipping the ring to me, initially. This company has very low standards for quality control if they can sell a $3500 ring with damage that can be seen with the naked eye and they find nothing wrong with it. I would upload the pictures for proof, but there is nowhere to upload pictures on this website.
There are obviously plenty of good reviews for this company but I received two rings with very poor workmanship. I was able to go to a local jeweler and find better quality that actually cost less. I would NOT recommend working with this company.

I was browsing the site when a few diamonds caught my eye. Worked with Katie who listened to my requirements and short listed a few diamonds for me to consider. We finally found THE one. She also guided me through the ring design. It's been a pleasure working with Katie ! There was no hard-sell tactics and my pace of shopping as entirety respected. Such a joy to receive a stunning final ring 💍.
