Stay clear of them.
They sent the wrong item in shrink wrap packaging.
They told me to send it back to them, but the shrink wrap was not usable, so i asked them to provide some packaging, as it was thier error, not mine.
There response? No response. I asked if they could send the correct item in a box and i would return the incorrect item in that same box. No response.
Nothing, my issue, not thiers.

Terrible service, stay well clear in my opinion.

This company is uncontactable. They have a phone line that no-one answers and a contact form that no-one repsonds to.

Excellent got cedar decking oil , good price and good quality.

I ordered 4x tubs of mortar joint repair.only 3 have turned up.you cant get through to sales.keep you on hold and say you are no 1 in the q.then cut you off!.avoid this company !. Dx delivery company are just as bad !.

I have tried to telephone this company twice and got an automated answer then I pressed button 3 as instructed and after approx 1 minute they hung up. I have also tried using their contact form and have not had a reply.

Placed order 1st May , no tracking email not even in junk as recorded message says. Made 3 calls today
1 22 mins on hold at position 1 then cut off
2 1 minute then cut off
3 22 minutes @ position 1 then cut off .
Emailed contact us as there is no other way to get through to this company so beware !!!!!

They were supposed to deliver Flooring adhesives 1 week ago and thr delivery providers haven't received the item at delivery depot yet. Build and Plumb doesn't even answer call related to delivery and as soon as I am on the queue no. 1 the call gets ended automatically, which has happened n number of times today.

Updates:
I finally received the packages. The gentleman delivering the goods was nice and helpful. This is the reason why I upgrade the rating from 1 to 4.

I bought some pre-cut panels from them before, and the first experience was smooth. No damaged packages, no delays, everything arrived fine.

This second experience, however, has been terrible.

Some of the packages were damaged, and the DX delivery company automatically returned them to Build and Plumb. Because I urgently needed the panels, I even tried to cancel the order. A staff member called Ros answered the phone and told me I would receive the replacement the next day. That promise turned into vaporware.

I’ve now waited three extra days and still haven’t received the missing packages.
What makes it worse is the customer service. Every time you call, they promise to “check and call you back,” but the callback never comes. This has already happened to me three separate times.

Really disappointing experience, especially compared with my first order.

Dreadful company to deal with. If I could give a zero rating I would. I ordered a tin of decking paint. When the parcel arrived it was decking stain with a large dent in the tin. I contacted them requesting they send me the correct order. They would not dispatch my decking paint until I could prove I had sent back the decking stain (which was their fault in the first place). I then waited for my decking paint to arrive and when the parcel arrived it was somebody else’s order of a hose accessory (and all of his personal details included-a clear data breach). When I contacted the company to complain again they told me they would send the decking paint. I told them I wanted a refund at this point. They refused to refund me until I could prove (again) that I had returned their incorrect order. I have never encountered such incompetence and terrible customer service where you are in essence held to ransom until you return the incorrect orders they keep sending out. Avoid.

I ordered 8 mortar boards and paid an extra £10 for express delivery only 4 got delivered. I paid £193 for half an order. Beware i should of read the revbefore buying. Ive contacted my bank to claim half my money back hopefully. Its 2026 this shouldn't be a thing anymore.

Terrible company!! Do yourself a favour and go by the genuine negative reviews as I know for a fact the good ones are fake, put on by employees and friends of such!

Ordered a Matt white bath panel which was a light cream colour not white! Contacted customer service and have been emailing them regarding this issue and the reply I’m sure is from someone with a very low IQ. They will not accept the fact that it is not white, repeating the reply with “but that’s what you have ordered”. Complete waste of time and I will never order from this company again. Dreadful.

What a joke this place is ordered 5ltrs of Barrettine oilbase wood preserver. Delivered in a small cardboard box and wrapped in cling film on removing the wrapper the tin was full of black dust!! plus the bottom of the tin was full of rust. On taking photos they came back with tge excuse that its stored on shelving by 2 open doors and maybe another tin might of leaked causing the rust "an oilbase product wouldn't cause the tin to rust" .... Will say they did say that i could return it under there returns policy which i could of at my expense of paying for the return P&P I definitely wouldn't recommend this place plus would never use this place again

Purchased joint-it fine grey sand for block paving. The product itself is really good and ideal for block paving. It brushes in really well and sets hard once watered and cured. The problem is that I purchased the grey colour as I have grey paving and wanted to finish in a colour match of similar colour. The bag of sand shows a grey cement colour strip to show the colour of its intended content, just the same as the buff version does. Once applied, wet and cured, the sand sets at a colour that is more like a beige with a few speckles of grey within the mix. If the colour was a cement grey like advertised it would be perfect but it’s disappointing to see that this is not the case.

Having purchased from this company in the past, I enquired about 2 tins of Ronseal 5 litre decking oil at £29.95 each plus £4.99 postage. I received an e mail from them advising the items were still in stock. I went to place the order but then found that the price was £30.85 each.
I rang the company but was told that on 1st April the price had increased.
The goods were in stock but the price was more ???
Was this an April fool joke?
Very poor way to treat a customer. How can the price increase when the goods were still in stock.?

I received a delivery despatch notification next day after my order, to say their courier company is delivering without ETA. Gave it 2 working days nothing from their side no email not a call. And the delivery tracking not progressing.

On the third day I write them, they respond on an email “we had to order these from our supplier, they are due with us today and will be sent on a 24 hour service to be with you tomorrow”. At this point I had to reschedule my contractor for the day after trusting what they told me. Next day comes, and nothing gets delivered. At this point I lost trust didn’t expect them to honour their promise, I called them in the morning and they confirmed that they have my items in stock now but they missed the cut off for delivery, they promised…??They promised To deliver the next day..AGAIN, they did not deliver. Next day the very same thing happened and guess what?! They did not deliver AGAIN. And the saga continues, so far I have not received my order yet.

Worth mentioning when I eventually managed to get through to them, the chap was really nice, but didnt get my order any earlier. I can understand delays do happen, but why dont they just notify their customers proactively and instead wait three working days until I contacted them? Most importantly , why to promise trice and not honour it trice?! You do mess up people’s works and make them incur penalties. I can’t see myself using them again after this experience.

Build and plumb communication and dispatch was good but never got the products. DX Xpress let build and plumb down big time. Delivery for Tuesday, paid for next day delivery to get them on Tuesday, ordered on the Saturday. First they went to the wrong depot supposedly. Then it was rearranged for today, they weren't going to deliver them today. Can't take the risk of them not arriving so had to now order from elsewhere instead. Shame

Absolutely disgraceful company. Made an order through Amazon then cancelled instantly because it was the wrong product ordered. They refused the cancellation and sent the item anyway knowing that it cannot be returned due to it being a restricted product. They where very rude arrogant and no help whatsoever. Was happy to return but they made it so difficult for this to happen. Ended up going through Amazon and getting a full refund from them not these fly by nights! I would avoid these like the plague.

Really poor experience.

I bought a pair of expensive Buckbootz safety boots from Build and Plumb. After a less than a month of normal use, one boot split across the toe cap area and both boots now leak water. These are marketed as durable work boots — they shouldn’t be failing like this.

I sent all the photos they asked for and then heard nothing for nearly two weeks. Eventually I was told the “claim” had been sent to the manufacturer, who rejected it and said it was accidental damage. Build and Plumb have simply accepted that and told me there’s nothing more they can do.

No proper investigation. No real attempt to stand behind what they sold. Just passing the blame.

When you buy from a retailer, you expect them to take responsibility if something goes wrong — especially with premium-priced safety footwear.

Very disappointing and not a company I’ll be using again.

Outstanding service and competitive prices . Recently ordered multipanel boards for shower renovation . Saved a considerable amount vs other big name diy shops on same items . Last minute addition to the order was not a problem and they managed to refund the delivery fee . So helpful I would never hesitate to use them again ! Thankyou to everyone at build and plumb
