Really happy with the service we received from Alex at Burra. I knew what I wanted but didn’t want to make a mistake with sizes and also miss out on what other solutions and ideas I hadn’t thought of. Highly recommend this service if you are wanting to save money on cabinetry but still want the designer look and feel.

IKEA HACK MASTER
We were completely new to the thought of the ikea hack system for achieving beautiful custom joinery on a budget. Alex came highly recommended by the door manufacturers. Alex fitted us in for a consult promptly and he came with enthusiastic energy and passion. He has years of specialist experience and knows exactly how to hack the tricky details. We received our designs within a couple of days and Alex was extremely patient and responsive with all our queries and eager to welcome a tricky challenge.
We have now have stunning robes, miles of storage and smiles on our faces!

I can’t recommend Burra Design enough! Alex is very creative, knowledgeable and knows all IKEA products in and out. He has given us great suggestions for our kitchen, bar and wardrobes designs. Thank you Alex for helping us so much with our kitchen design. We had a basic plan in place but Alex was so helpful with tweaking it and putting on the finishing touches. He has an awesome in-depth knowledge of ikea cabinets etc. and what can be done. I also loved how he was very honest about what would/wouldn't look good. We installed it ourselves and chose our own non ikea sink and tap and it looks awesome - the benchtop installers kept commenting how it looked like a professionally designed and installed kitchen!

Alex was very responsive, and easy to communicate with. He made the process of designing an IKEA laundry, and liaising with the company making our custom doors for the laundry, very simple and easy. Highly recommend!

We knew we wanted So Watt fronts for our kitchen renovation, but we had no idea how to pair that with the Ikea cabinets, especially with the spacing.

Alex provided the detail we lacked. He knows the Ikea catalogue inside and out. He understands how to pair with a 3rd party panels. He understands how to design for your space.

Alex was able to get us comfortable with our overall plan, provided the detail to make the So Watt and Ikea ordering process a breeze, and even provided good recommendations on who to install it all for us.

Alex was always super clear with his communication and very quick to respond.

We will likely use his services again we we can next afford to do the laundry!

After a successful kitchen project last year we decided to work with Alex and the team at Burra on our new project which included a large kitchen, laundry, study and wardrobes. We did get a quote on bespoke joinery for various areas and the Ikea proposition (and value / cost) is hard to go by when designed properly.

The team at Burra have delivered again. The service is quick, responsive and clear. Alex’s understanding of all the little bits which add value and polish to the IKEA offer. When placing the order with IKEA their sales representative was very happy with the clear notes describing all the little extras tip and tricks noted by Burra.

We are using SO WATT face panels and the ordering process and collaboration between the businesses has been excellent.

Alex helped us design our Kitchen and Laundry and we are so pleased with the outcome! His service and communication are exceptional and he was always happy to answer any question or help problem solve with ease.
Alex expertise and product knowledge helped us tremendously and the outcome is that we were able to customize both designs as much as possible. All trades that have come in to install different parts of our overall home reno, have been so impressed with the design and finish and wanted details of who we worked with. Overall we worked out that it has saved us approx. $10k working with Alex, vs a kitchen studio (comparing like for like).

Alex helped us with our office/guest room built-ins. He was incredibly knowledgable, easy to work with, and consultative. He came up with a design that worked really well in our small and awkward space; all the while, optimising for storage and functionality. He guided us throughout the process so that we were clear on the outcome and how it would all come together. We had a shift in budget during the process, and Alex worked with us to align the project to those new requirements. This was the most positive joinery experience we've had to date (we've had a few expensive disasters) with the planning and design process, and the final outcome /quality being exceptionally positive.
