Julie and Daisy handled the lease…
Julie anf Daisy handled the lease extension and sale of my flat.
They communicated promptly and clearly throughout the process and were far, far better at getting things done than previous solicitors I've used.
The one fly in the ointment was that the funds to cover the Leasehold had to go through the usual anti money laundering checks which, given it was coming from my parents, ended in them having to travel down to Burton's office to have their IDs checked, a full daytrip.
My issue with this is that at the end of the process the funds used to cover the lease extension came from the sale, so that entire trip was completely pointless.
In the grand scheme of things this is a small gripe though, and I wouldn't hesitate to use Burtons again.

Dear Jonathon,
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that Julie and Daisy kept you well informed throughout your lease extension and sale, and that their communication and efficiency stood out compared with your previous experiences. We will be sure to pass on your kind words to them.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the anti-money laundering checks. We understand that these requirements can sometimes be inconvenient, particularly when they involve additional travel. As solicitors, we are legally required to carry out anti-money laundering and identity checks whenever the regulations apply, regardless of how a transaction ultimately concludes. While we appreciate that, in hindsight, the trip may have felt unnecessary, these checks are an important part of our legal and regulatory obligations.
Thank you again for your understanding and for your recommendation. We look forward to assisting you again in the future.
Kind regards,
Burtons Solicitors
