Fantastic and original idea - ordered for a 40th birthday. Very nice presentation box and the bespoke champagne label finished off the set really nicely. Great communication from the seller and arrived very quickly.

Ordered a 'Times' - an edition for a specific date in 1940.
Needed to speak with Bygone News pre-ordering as delivery was complicated. Gentleman at 'Bygone' couldn't have been more courteous and helpful.

When you go shopping, you will come across many nonsense websites, which sell newspapers of historic value but go straight to bygone news. These guys are bloody good. If you want quick, literally, QUICK delivery of an original newspaper of a certain date, go to them. I used Bygone News after an awful experience with another website that sells “historic-newspapers”. I regret not going to them earlier. Believe it or not, received the newspaper in 2 days! Bygone dispatched the order the very same day, and I received it a day after that! They are a family run business who are not outsourcing newspaper procurement. They have their own warehouse and have a good knowledge of the original newspapers. When I was confused about the newspaper I wanted to buy, I spoke to Paul and he was super, super helpful and understanding. THEY ARE SUPERB!

I ordered a newspaper for my dads 70th birthday, although I have not given it to him yet I just had to write my review. I 100% recomend this company. I did try other companies but all they had was an Ulster paper and my dad is not Irish. Bygone news had what I wanted. Inside does have a bit of clear tape and is slightly worn on some folds, but this just adds to the authentic look of the paper. I am so pleased with my purchase and will definitely use them again. It was quite a shock to read, no murder, rape, stabbings, kidnappings or anything else bad. How times have changed!

I have just purchased a newspaper and a book from bygone and am more than happy with their service. They were superb at keeping me informed of my delivery (even gave me a one hour window of delivery time the day before delivery, AND included the delivery drivers name - how friendly is that?). The item itself was worn (but NOT tatty) and a slight fusty smell but what would you expect from an original paper from 1961? I would have given the company five stars but what I feel let them down was that I paid for my paper to be in a gift box (on their site it shows a nice blue presentation box with gold writing on). However, when it arrived it was simply in a plain brown 'pizza' style box - a very basic packaging. Come on Bygone, this isn't good enough, I now have to go out and purchase a proper gift box.

Not happy with the service at all, item arrived damaged, it may have been damaged in transit, either way at the very least the packaging was not robust enough.

I have bought certificates from this company several times and they always arrive with 3-4 working days. The information given is always interesting and they make good presents for people who are hard to buy for.

As the date for the paper was on a Sunday I was charged an extra premium as they told me they are more rare, then I get an email telling me it will be a reprint, but the price was the same as an original surly that should be cheaper
