They cancelled my appointments a lot!!!

They have cancelled my appointment 4 times now. They are useless company. I have no choice but to use them as they are working with Scottish power. They ask for no details or description of where the electric meter is at the property. Mine will require two engineers to access it. I was told this after I booked a day off work and waited in for them. The engineer took pictures and notes, they have now told me there are no pictures and notes. It's painful dealing with this company, they have no respect for people's time and money.

Appointment cancelled last min

After Scottish Power continuing to suggest i install a smart meter to improve their billing accuracy an appointment was booked for between 12-4pm with calisen to install elec and gas smart meters. I had confirmed the appointment the night before and again earlier on the day and was assured this was going ahead, i was then called at 3:10pm only to be told they had to cancel due to unseen circumstances. Thank you for waisting my time, Great service ...

For the second time, waited in and off work for smart meter installation between 8-12 only to be rang with cancellation at 12.05 depsite only confirming again that morning.

Disgusting customer service.

Had an appointment booked 4 weeks in…

Had an appointment booked 4 weeks in advance only for them to cancel at the last minute, Rebooked for 4 weeks later only for them to not even turn up, Got a phone call from them 3 days later apologising and then saying they couldn't even rebook an appointment, Astonishing customer service considering it was their fault on both occasions hence the apology, Strongly advise against dealing with this company,

A really poor service

I was booked in for a smart meter installation. My time slit was between 10-2. At 12.53 I received a call saying that due to unforeseen circumstances the engineer wouldn't be able to attend today.
I had to take time off work and wait around for them.
This is the second appointment that they have cancelled.

Dreadful Customer Experience!

I am writing this on behalf of my 77 year old mum, recently widowed. She has her electricity with Utility Warehouse and for the last year now, they have been writing to her advising that she has to switch her meter by the end of May 2025. The letters keep telling her to arrange this direct with Calisen Metering who we have been trying to get through to since this whole saga began. We keep being fobbed off, being told there are no engineers in this area yet can’t be guaranteed that they will get one out before the cut off date. They are absolutely useless and between them and Utility Warehouse, have left my mum feeling extremely anxious, vulnerable and disappointed at the incompetent customer service. I will be taking this to the local press and social media outlets if this doesn’t get sorted soon. Do not use this company!

An appointment was made for the…

An appointment was made for the Scottishpower smart meter replacement. He came between 8 and 12 o'clock. He asked if we were going on holiday because the house was not nice and he got jealous of the bags he saw and waited for 5 minutes and left without doing the job. I definitely do not recommend it.

A credit to the company.

Calisen rang me 4 days before my appointment to check everything. On the day I was able to track the engineer's progress as he travelled up to Skipton. He arrived 10 minutes early. Michael, the Bradford engineer, was brilliant - prompt, polite and professional. His work was tidy and he explained everything as he went along. I was very happy with his work. He is a credit to Calisen.

Thanks Joel for excellent customer service

Joel the Calisen engineer who fitted my new electricity meter was extremely professional, friendly and informative. He arrived on time and made an excellent job of fitting the new smart meter. He tidied up after himself and explained the features on the smart meter. He also left me with a leaflet and explained ways of saving energy and how to set my own budget if I wanted to. A very professional service and I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

A positive experience with our engineer Alex…

I didn’t read Calisens reviews before our appt & I’m glad I didn’t! However, I can only be honest & say we didn’t experience any issues at all. Initial appt was booked by them, but then I had to rearrange with about a weeks notice. The guy I spoke to was charming & managed to fit us in a week later. Our time slot was 12-4 & the engineer text me directly the afternoon before to confirm the appt was still good which I did. Our engineer, Alex, arrived just before 2 & replaced both are electric & gas meters. He was friendly, chatty, told us exactly what he would be doing & answered any of our questions. He was efficient, very tidy in his work & left just before 4. Really nice guy who we would both recommend. Our power contract is with UW & we’re in the Heathrow area for reference

Expert installation engineer …

Joel the installation engineer who came to fit our new smart meter was clearly expertly experienced in his trade.He completed the operation very smoothly with a minimum of inconvenience to ourselves and having tested all of our gas appliances to ensure that they were working correctly he advised us how to control the unit before leaving.
One other thing that some people may not appreciate was he left our home totally clean and tidy.
A credit to his employers and as importantly to himself.

Didn't turn up...

Booked an appt via scottish power for a smart meter installation. Booked a 12-4pm time slot, waited all day and a guy rang at 3:45(!!!) to say due to 'unforeseen circumstances' the appointment won't be going ahead. No decent notice given. The guy on the phone then said to suggest a time to rebook the appt, I said I'd call at another time. He said if I don't rebook now the appt will be missed...yes of course it will be missed, no one's coming?! I said I'd book at another time, he then said he can offer a date and time in may/june.... I said I won't be telling you for the third time I will not be rebooking and he then went on to suggest calling back to rebook. Absolutely appauling customer service. This company needs to understand some customers book times and days off of work for this! You had 4 HOURS to give notice but called 15 minutes before the end of the time slot. Ridiculous service.

Dreadful

Took half a day out to get a smart meter installed. Near the end of the installation slot we received a call advising that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the appointment was cancelled. Surprised they didn't foresee it, since the same thing happened a few weeks ago. I have no faith that the same wouldn't happen a few weeks from now, and I'm sceptical that there was ever an intention to attend. Judging by the other reviews here, this is pretty much par for the course with Calisen.

Terrible Company

Joining all the other customers trying to have a new meter fitted to replace RTS meter, 4 appointments made, 1 attended but not successful, 3 failed to attend, last one without even a cancellation call, shocking service

UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW ....

Please see my previous review, this is an update if you can call it that.......
This has now been ongoing for 4 months with 3 failed attempts. How is this company still in business ?
My teletype switch meter will be shut off shortly and ill be left with no working meters but no one seems to care ! I've complained and complained but to no avail. Its now looking like I will have to contact the energy ombudsman as I just don't know how to get this resolved as it just seems to be falling on deaf ears !

Annoyed as booked half day holiday

Had an 8am-12pm appointment so booked half day holiday. At 11am got a call saying engineer was not available to attend today. When I questioned the fact he had texted the previous day to confirm the appt they then said he was called to an emergency and there wasn't another engineer available in the area. Not impressed by this or other similar reviews. Will I have to waste another half day holiday for a no show.

Meter reading

Had smart meters fitted 27th March 2025 id sent my readings on 26th March everything was fine until I got my electricity bill 28th March to discover the engineer had sent the wrong readings from the old meter which caused scottish power to believe I was using over £40 a day in electricity. I'm now left with the hassle of trying to sort it out, it may well be an easy mistake to make but it's his job and shouldn't have happened

Poor non showing x 2

Had them cancel on me twice at the last minute to fit smart meters, after taking 2 half days off my work for them.
They then tried to re arrange another date, and I was told there were no more dates available in my area at the moment, and to go back to my supplier again.
Worst company - AVOID

Vile sub contractor for British Gas

Vile sub contractor for British Gas !
Engineer caused damage to my front garden expensive plants and new sprouted bulbs.
He also parked his car on the property while he attended the rest off the estates houses.
This company declined any damage and I even supplied the ring door bell footage, Cheryl needs re training ! Trespass civil notice served for any future visits on my property without me being present. ! Apparently the engineer is a skilled gardener and can see under soil to extent of damage he caused my lack off due care and attention, ! Avoid this company at all costs as it seems to be a running thing with damage on property from this adhoc company
