I suppose the biggest thing here is peace of mind when you take out the cover. Fortunately I so far have not had the need to draw down on the policy so I'm hoping that will never happen. If it does then I'll be on to do a follow up review or comment.

Definitely worth considering
We recently rented a car in Spain for five days and a neighbour recommended CarHireExcess.ie. We’d never used separate car hire excess insurance before, but the saving was substantial.
Booking directly with the rental company, the car was going to cost us €181 including their insurance. By taking out a one-off CarHireExcess policy for around €16, our total cost came down to €52 for the car plus €16 for the excess cover.
That’s a very decent saving over just five days, and we’d happily use them again.
They also offer an annual policy, which looks like it would make even more sense if you rent cars two or more times a year.

When something actually goes wrong and I have to claim.. then and only then can I review your services...
I believed your product information and I paid you for the said services.
I can't comment on that transaction further you gave a price I paid the price.

Exactly as it should be.
Very straight forward. The car rental company in Italy initially wanted me to take out extra insurance but there was no argument when I mentioned that I had CarHireExcess. Fortunately I didn't have to make a claim.
