Picked up my Mini Cooper from Peterborough branch. Car not cleaned no mats tyres not inflated properly and the vehicle had zero petrol in the tank so it broke down on the motorway upon leaving the premises. Raised these issues and zero compensation!!!!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a 2020 Nissan X-Trail from Carworld.
Only seven days and approximately 421 miles after collecting the vehicle, I took it to Western Nissan Edinburgh for a major service and inspection. Nissan recorded both front lower-arm bushes as split, abnormal wear on both front tyres, rear brake pads at approximately 4 mm, and rear brake discs that were corroded and starting to break up.
For complete fairness, before purchase I was told verbally that I might need to replace the front tyres and brakes at the next MOT. However, I was not told that both front lower-arm bushes were split, nor was I given the detailed findings later recorded by Nissan.
I also specifically asked the salesperson before purchase whether the vehicle had Android Auto and was told that it did. When it did not work after collection, I was advised that I needed an original cable. Western Nissan subsequently confirmed that this vehicle is not equipped with Android Auto. Carworld later rejected this part of my complaint because Android Auto was not written in the online advert, describing what happened as possible “miscommunication.” This does not address the verbal information I was given before purchasing the vehicle or the later advice about using an original cable.
The vehicle was also supplied without the expected floor mats.
I reported the problems promptly and provided Carworld with the Nissan inspection report and quotations. Their initial response focused on the fact that Nissan marked the mechanical items as amber advisories, rather than properly addressing the specific findings or offering a practical inspection or repair arrangement near Edinburgh. An amber classification may indicate that work is not immediately hazardous, but it does not change the fact that Nissan recorded both lower-arm bushes as split and the rear discs as deteriorating.
I have had to spend significant time contacting Carworld, Nissan, the AA warranty administrator and consumer advice services simply to establish what assistance may be available. Advice Direct Scotland reviewed my case and referred it for Trading Standards consideration.
I purchased the vehicle in good faith and intended to keep it for several years. I was not seeking to return it; I asked for a reasonable solution involving necessary repairs, the missing mats and an appropriate remedy for the Android Auto representation. Unfortunately, Carworld has not provided a satisfactory overall resolution.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership. Anyone considering buying from Carworld should independently inspect the vehicle before payment, obtain every claimed feature and promise in writing, retain the original advertisement, and carefully check the warranty terms before collection.

We were helped by Monica who was amazing. So helpful and professional, nothing was too much trouble and she was an absolute pleasure to deal with. She explained the warranty etc fully and carefully.
She is a credit to Carworld.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. This car dealer is the worst i have ever come across. Despite booking appointment was greeted by the cast of thousands of salesmen, all giving off can't be bothered vibes. Paul who was listed to see finally appeared handing over key & pointing in the general direction before wandering off. Car well parked in with 3 inches of dust & knackered battery despite advising we wanted to test drive.Gave up as no sign of salesmen. Key returned to a rude & arrogant salesman better suited to standing on the door of a cheap Soho knocking shop. Really not bothered. This company clearly doesn't care about front end so god help you if you buy anything & it goes wrong.
Bought a car from here... avoid
Bought a car from here. 13 days after buying it fault came up on the dash and the car went into limp mode.
The paperwork we received at point of sale stated if there were any mechanical issues within 14 days to contact car world.
Contacted them. Was fobbed off and told to call the warranty company (got a standard 3 month warranty with the car). I said no I shouldn't have to contact the warranty company, find a garage with availability and pay the diagnostic cost etc.
After A LOT of phone calls and e mails where I wasn't giving in they eventually agreed to book the car in at their service centre 1 month later.
Anyway to cut a long story short my car ended up being in the service centre for a month. During that time there was zero communication from them. Even if they updated me with bad news or informing me of delays that is far better than radio silence
I called several times. No one could tell me what was going on other than "waiting for parts'. Bearing in mind this is MY car they wouldn't even tell me the diagnosis or parts needed.......that is when the service centre eventually answer the phone.
I followed it up with e mails, sent a recorded letter on the advice from citizens advice - again zero response.
After phoning numerous times eventually collected the car today. Yet to be seen if fault is fixed. Was promised a written report on collection but now being told it will be e mailed to me within 4 days. Again, won't hold my breath
Appalling treatment and customer service. My advice is to avoid.
Was so pleased with the purchase initially and the whole experience and excitement of buying a new car has been tainted
I've also lost all confidence in the car.
Go to a proper dealership is my advice
Paul Kew
Our salesman, Paul Kew, could not have been more helpful. His good humour, product knowledge and above all his patience were indispensable in helping us choose our Nissan Qashqai.
Rubbish
Dreadful company
Found a car with them that I liked, asked a couple of questions like is there a spare key etc
After 2 days and me phoning 4 times to chase an answer to what were really simple questions I was told it was sold and it’s not their fault they couldn’t answer weather it had a spare key
WASTE OF TIME
We weren't posh enough
Having brought from here twice before without issues we were excited to stop here once again to look for our next car. Im not sure what happened when they moved from their old site by the prison to their new one, i think customer service was left behind locked in a filing cabinet.
When we arrived on site their were not staff visible so we started to browse. During the 40 minutes we were browsing not a single member of staff approached us to offer and help. We did find a car we wanted to test drive. We then had to hunt down a member of staff to help. This is when they really started to add to the hole they were already digging for themselves. We were asked about the car we were replacing and the immediate response was "Oh no, we dont take cars THAT old" Which is a good thing really as were weren't looking to get rid of it. As soon as the staff found out what car we wanted to test drive the customer service utterly failed when it became obvious we were looking at the lower end of the market cost wise.
When the car was dug out of the line up we eventually got to drive it. As soon as we got in we were assisted by the smell of very old cigarette smoke. My husband drove around the corner and it became immediately obvious that this was not the car for us for various reasons. Not wanting to waste any bodies time we returned to the garage and parked it in the spot we had got in it from. Instantly we had a sales person come out and start gesticulating to us to move the car. We were distracted to park it as far away from the sales office as possible which we did. We popped into the office to drop off the keys and say that sadly it wasn't for us, but we were open to discussing what else they had. We were instructed to take a seat as we HAD to speak to a sales associate before leaving. We set off the take a seat when my husband was told it might be a while. Looking out of the window we could see a few people who had arrived after us who were asking about high end cars with several more digits on the price tag. It was the we understood. We weren't good enough for a car garage that had been the epitome of customer service excellence before who had now decided that their target market was those that could earn them a good commission figure.
We were looking to buy outright, cash on the spot today. We might not be posh but is our money not good enough anymore.
DO NOT USE CARWORLD
DO NOT USE CARWORLD
When arriving at the dealership was greeted by the sound of someone angrily telling everyone not to buy from them, in retrospect I should have listened.
We spoke to Shakeel one of the sales team who seemed to explain everything and was honest enough to say any garage is only prepping the car to last 3 months while it is under the initial warranty. we were shown one of the cars we had seen on the website however throughout the viewing we were constantly show cars above our budget. Eventually we took a Vauxhall Crossland X for a test drive and it was ok, slightly pulls to the right and the aircon fan was squeaking. Discussed further and it was agreed these would be fixed. We paid and got the car the next day, following this, as a precaution, had we had a professional mechanic check the car over.
At this point I was horrified, the head gasket was marked as being in imminent failure, oil leaking into the coolant system and a few other error codes. We took it back that evening at 17:15 where I then spoke to someone called Mason, who flatly said they "don't deal with it" and I would have to speak to after sales. when asked how I do so as I have never bought from a dealership before he just shrugged and said to call. I tried this when I was there and there is no after sales at their call centre, at which point I asked to speak to a manager which I was told there isn't one. I asked for Mason to speak to his manager on the phone and was refused, I asked a few times and he said he would check at which point he took out his personal phone and went in the back to make a call. This went on for 45 minutes until a manager by the name of Stuart appeared from out the back office, only because he had heard me shouting. After a further explanation and trying to assert my customer rights of short term return that is allowed within 14 days. I was eventually told how to contact aftersales which had shut.
Went the next morning at their open. Had an acquaintance on the phone for support who had retired from car dealerships but had managed and owned them in the past. I spoke to someone in the after sales office, this person then decided he no longer wished to speak to me and would not give me his name and said a manager would be in at 10:30 and promptly walked into a staff only area and slammed the door.
Once I spoke to the manager at 10:45 she told me they would need to do their own diagnostics before they would even agree to anything, despite showing them the official print out of error codes and the head gasket colour test. After not getting anywhere for another hour eventually agreed on the grounds everything was in writing, eventually got confirmation the next day that they were authorising the refund, after waiting 3 more days with no response I spoke again to aftersales and was told they would not do the refund without the documentation from DVLA, thankfully it had arrived and I took it over to them, it then too another week for them to finally clear the money.
DO NOT USE CARWORLD
They do not provide any information other than the service book. Their is no pre-delivery inspection document and they only have 1 service person on staff, all other work is not done by them if done at all.
Very good experience buying a car
Very good experience buying a car. Sale rep Paul C and was helpful in ensuring the car was ready to go
Terrible experience
Terrible experience – avoid this dealer.
I bought a Nissan from this dealership on February, and it has been nothing but problems. The day after I bought the car, the engine warning light came on. When I returned to ask about it, the staff dismissed my concerns and told me that modern cars have lots of sensors and that warning lights are “normal” because there are too many sensors. That is completely unacceptable. .. got faulty car at 13000 avoid this place …
I also discovered that parts of the car had faded paint which appeared to have been temporarily covered up before the sale. When the weather became warmer and I tried to use the air conditioning, it only blew hot air. I had to pay £120 out of my own pocket to get it repaired.
As a first-time car buyer, I feel I was misled and sold a faulty vehicle. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dealership. Please be very careful before buying a car from them.
I paid about 13000 and what i got like this car. Awful
AVOID THIS PLACE
I would highly recommend against using…
I would highly recommend against using CarWorld. I had the unfortunate displeasure of being looked after by Scott. He was selling me products before I test drove the car and made it very clear his priority was on the sale, not making sure the car was right. While I appreciate this is a valid sales technique, when I’m looking to part with nearly £40k I would expect better service.
After getting the sales pitch and being told the wrong deposit amount needed if I wanted to buy, we took the car on a test drive. The route was really good for a test drive.
At the end of the test drive Scott left to talk to another customer. Having waited for a short while, I left. The car wasn’t right for me and I didn’t like Scott’s manner.
Today I get a phone call from Scott asking me why I “ran off” without speaking to him. I told him that the car wasn’t for me and he was too busy sorting out a different customer. For which he then accused me of being rude. I asked to speak to a member of management, but apparently one was not available.
I am sure the lack of a sale has hit Scott’s pay packet, but his behaviour actively turn off any potential sale and subsequent phone will mean I will not use and actively discourage others using Car World.
If I could give less than 1 star I would
I purchased a vehicle from Car World on 10 January 2026. Within days, warning lights appeared and I reported these to the dealership. Before I was able to return the vehicle to them, it developed drivetrain and charging faults and became undrivable.
The vehicle was recovered to Car World and retained for approximately two weeks. I was subsequently informed that they had been unable to identify any faults and the vehicle was returned to me. However, further faults continued to occur.
A local garage later identified an issue with the 12V battery and, following further drivetrain faults, BMW diagnosed a fault with the EV battery. According to BMW’s assessment, the fault was consistent with a condition that existed prior to my purchase. Car World’s proposed solution was to carry out the repair themselves; however, BMW advised that repairs attempted without specialist knowledge could potentially worsen the issue.
Despite notifying Car World within the first month that I wished to reject the vehicle, the matter remained unresolved for several months. I sought advice from Citizens Advice and eventually instructed a solicitor, who sent a letter before action. Car World subsequently agreed to provide a full refund, although payment was received considerably later than expected.
In my opinion, the after-sales service and communication fell well below the standard I expected. While I am pleased that I ultimately received a refund, it should not have taken five months to resolve a matter involving a vehicle that I was only able to use for approximately four weeks.
The process was lengthy and extremely stressful, involving numerous phone calls, emails and ultimately legal action. In my experience, communication from Car World and between members of staff was poor. I frequently had to chase for updates and was often told I would receive a call back, which in many instances did not happen.
Based on my experience, I would not choose to purchase from Car World again. Also be aware car world has 2 profiles on trust pilot.
