We are sorry that you did not find the platform intuitive and you also found it difficult to navigate. Our goal is to make CENTURY accessible and straightforward for all users, which is why we have made significant changes to both the guardian and student experience. We are always working to improve the user experience, and your comments will be considered for future updates.

Regarding the platform not effectively teaching or explaining mistakes, we would like to offer some clarification on how CENTURY is designed to address this. Students can focus on 'Learn' content created by our curriculum specialists. This content teaches the learner a particular topic. Videos and slideshows allow learners to go through at their own pace and then test their knowledge using assessment questions. As a misconception is made, feedback is provided to the learner, and they can unlock the correct answer should they wish to learn in this way.
'Test practice' on CENTURY assesses a student's understanding of concepts. It provides questions to apply learned knowledge and can be repeated, and learners can reveal the correct answer once they have attempted the question..
To help you get the most out of CENTURY, we recommend exploring the "Grow and Strengthen Recommendations" feature, which is designed to help address misconceptions and solidify understanding using our AI-powered system.
You can also make use of our Mock Tests and Test Ready Nuggets, which you can find on our help page linked below. This will help assess your child's performance and track any misconceptions.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your frustration with CENTURY’s diagnostic tests.

We understand that receiving a score you’re not happy with can be disheartening. However, the purpose of diagnostics is for CENTURY’s AI to assess where you might have gaps in knowledge. Although you won’t receive immediate feedback in diagnostics, the results are used to populate each student’s learning path with nuggets to fill in those gaps, so you can progress more effectively in your studies.

A lot of teachers set diagnostics before starting a topic when not all content has been covered, which is another reason why we don’t share feedback or display results. We also wanted to let you know that teachers can reset diagnostics, allowing you to take them again. This can be a great way to track your progress over time.

Regarding your point about "answers that make sense" being marked wrong, we encourage students to reach out to our support team (support@century.tech) with any specific questions or concerns about their responses. They’ll be happy to investigate any cases where an alternative answer might be considered.

Regarding your concern about the loading animation, we have not received reports of this being an issue within our CENTURY community, but we take this seriously. I’ve passed this information onto our Product and Tech teams for further exploration. If you continue to experience issues with performance, please feel free to reach out to us at support@century.tech so that we can investigate further and assist you.

In terms of viewing answers after the test, for Mock Test results, you can view your learner’s performance through the stanine score and spider diagram, which shows how they performed in each topic. This is available on the Guardian Dashboard, and you can hover over each topic to see the percentage score.

The dashboard also provides topic recommendations based on your learner's performance. While we currently do not offer downloadable question-level analysis for Mock Tests, we encourage learners to work on the recommended topics to reinforce any areas that need improvement. Regarding your feedback about not being able to return to previous questions, this is because once you have typed an answer, the platform reveals the correct response to provide immediate feedback and aid learning. For Test Ready Nuggets, which do not have the timed aspect, you can reattempt questions with a different set of questions to strengthen retention of the material provided. We encourage you to take advantage of these nuggets to further reinforce learning.

We also understand your concern about not being able to skip questions. Whilst completing nuggets, learners can skip questions by clicking “I don’t know”. During a nugget assessment, it’s possible to return to the learning material during the assessment, as this may help to jog your memory. If after checking the slides or video, you still don’t know the answer, you can click “I don’t know’ in order to ensure that the platform can then recommend appropriate learning.

In the 11+ mock tests, learners have the flexibility to move back and forth through the questions, allowing them to navigate as needed. However, for the ISEB mock test, we’ve designed it to reflect the actual testing experience, where skipping or revisiting questions is not permitted. This is to provide learners with an authentic mock test experience that mirrors the real exam conditions.

For retrying nuggets, learners can browse for specific nuggets in the My Subjects section, select a topic, and filter the nuggets based on the appropriate category (Learn, Bond, or ISEB).

To maintain engagement, we offer varied content types, including videos, interactive slides, and practice questions. We also have gamification in the platform in the form of badges and streaks for work completed. CENTURY creates a personalised pathway for each student, identifying strengths and weaknesses to provide targeted content and tackle the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach.

Secondly, concerning the financial investment, CENTURY is designed to be a cost-effective solution in the long term. It reduces the need for extensive manual marking and provides detailed analytics, saving teachers valuable time. We offer various pricing options to accommodate different school budgets, and we work with schools to ensure they see a return on their investment.

Thirdly, regarding the reduction of human contact, the aim of CENTURY is to supplement, not replace, the very important work of a teacher in the classroom. CENTURY is designed with learning science and neuroscience in mind. One area where you can see this is in the Recommended Path, which uses interleaved learning. This means you'll see English, maths and Science topics mixed together. Interleaved learning can help you remember what you've learned because it strengthens the connections between different subjects. If you wish to focus on one particular topic, you can filter your pathway by clicking the filter button in the top right-hand corner of your path.
Diagnostics, which you'll find in the Recommended Path are there to help you begin your CENTURY learning journey.These initial assessments allow CENTURY's AI to understand your current knowledge, highlighting your strengths and where you might need a bit more support. The platform uses the results from the diagnostics to create a personalised learning path with nugget recommendations tailored to you. This approach aims to focus your efforts where they'll be most effective, helping you use your study time efficiently. If you would like to self-direct your learning, you can also use the "My Courses" tab to choose specific subjects and topics.

Our maths content is created by experienced teachers with a deep understanding of educational standards. It is designed to align with the requirements of the most popular exam boards and is a trusted resource used by CENTURY schools around the world. Our videos use the principles of cognitive load to make sure that images and animations complement the learning concepts. The chunking of the learning into ‘nuggets’ alongside the AI also ensures that you receive the right level of challenge.

For Mock Test results, you can view not only a stanine score but also a spider diagram showing how you have performed within each topic. This is accessible via the Guardian Dashboard. As you hover over each topic, you can view the overall percentage scored. This results dashboard will also display topic recommendations based on your performance to help direct future study.

Though we do not have downloadable question-level analysis for the mock tests, we hope that our content and AI recommendations will help guide you to success.

The more you use CENTURY, the more accurately the platform tailors your learning pathway, adapting to your strengths and areas for improvement to ensure you get the most relevant support.

Mock tests mimic the experience of the actual examination, including the timed test, the range of question types and the style of exam.

Our Mock Tests are designed as generic practice for a GL test, just like the Bond books. Individual local authorities, or in some cases individual schools, have control over the exact content of their tests. As a result, the platform develops the learners’ skills rather than trying to replicate a specific test for a particular school or area.

We apologise if the Mock Test allocation allowance wasn’t clear from the start. Guardians are given 8 mock tests per billing month to assign to their learners. This is platform functionality and your Mock Test quota is always visible to you within your Guardian Account.

Our Mock Tests are designed to best prepare your learner for their exam, including the test layout, timed aspect and question types. As a Guardian you are able to view their Stanine score and also their topics for areas for improvement.

To ensure your learner can continue to make progress once the Mock Test quota has been used, you also have access to unlimited Test Ready nuggets. These allow you to see where they are answering right and wrong in your Guardian account.
