i feel like sparx in general is just not a good platform. not only does it pressure children into doing more work than they already do at school, its so un-motivational i find it hard to give myself any to do it. i just end up gettig detention

As if sparx maths wasn't shit enough, sparx science makes it even worse and puts it in green instead of blue. To put some of the problems with this nightmare fuel in short form, the checking system on typed out answers will flag the correct answer as wrong because it dosen't have the keywords the system wants, and on certain questions, if you get the answer wrong, the question will split off into usually 3 or more smaller questions which can be a highly annoying and unnecessary waste of time. Overall the experience is painfully tedious and slow, even with an assistant such as Gauth.

I don't disagree with homework, it can be useful for keeping topics fresh in you mind and can be done right, but sparx is nowhere near right, literally.
Just for example, I got a question something like
"What is found in plant meristems"
Obviously I answered with "stem cells"
Their trash ai says it's wrong then forces me to 'learn' it, the answer was correct when I checked on the second try thing where it mixes up the question, and it's all because of their ai

This one's not too bad, better than sparx maths for sure
BETTER THAN THE EVIL SPARX READER (I love english but sparx reader is vile).
This time to actually tells you the answer if you don't know it, instead of you desperately trying over and over again to get the right answer and before you know it you just ask ai to get it done.

The ai constantly marks correct answers wrong I am a top student in science in my school and no matter how hard I try the ai marks me wrong and I spend hours doing “30 minutes “ worth of homework even though my mark has never dropped below 95%

Let me get one thing clear: when I first started using Sparx Science, I somewhat enjoyed it. Crazy, right? I know it is. But I found it easy, and I made sure my answers were worded in such a way that I could get it done as fast as possible while actively trying not to think about how dogshit this website actually is.
That was, until, they added flashcards.
Suddenly, if you do not answer the question in under what seems like only a second, you are wrong. You are a failure. You are a disgrace. I just don’t get it; why are WE, as CHILDREN/TEENAGERS, being forced to answer WORDED questions with worded answers in such a short amount of time? It makes no sense. I, myself, have to take a few seconds to understand the question properly before answering, so I can ensure I have the right answer. Flashcards completely disregards that factor, instead basing learning off how fast you can answer a question, compared to actually answering it correctly. There are many others out there in the same situation, and we feel completely helpless during this task. We have to repeat questions over, and over, and over again, until we can finally memorise the beginning of that question to answer it correctly. Not LEARN, but memorise it. Those two are not the same things, let me make clear. I have not learned anything from flashcards, nor will I ever. Nobody I know has ever learned anything from them either, so I see a good opportunity to take the entire thing down. Or, better yet, simply delete the website. I’m sure the millions of pre-teens and teens in the UK would love to see the end of such a horrible, sloppy, cruel website. As of writing this, I’m currently in the middle of a flashcards task. How horrible must this website be for me to stop in the middle of rapid-fire questions to write a 1-star review about how awful it is? I do not wish for any more students to have to go through this waste of time. However, as we are not adults, we do not get any say at all, as there are more adults who believe that teenagers’ autonomies are threatening or non-existent. I wish you all the worst.

Too many flash cards and it is such a waste of time

I thought that nothing could rival Sparx Maths, but here we are. It takes the worst features of Sparx Maths and slaps more on top. Science is terrible for all of the reasons that Sparx Maths is terrible and at least two more. 1. It's the buggiest website known to mankind. Pure torture trying to answer questions, yet alone navigate the site. 2. The bane of my very existence, the true ultimate torture method, the fricking AI marking. The reason why this is in half of all schools is because it has fully automatic marking. Look, I get that schools and teachers don't want to spend time marking - ok, I get that. But at least listen to the feedback from your own students. And, out of all auto marking, this AI system is the worst. You could get a question right but without the keywords that the AI cares so preciously about, you're answer is completely wrong and should be trashed completely. God forsake this hellscape of a homework website.

I am a grade 9 student for biology and chemistry and average 8s in physics. This website is horrendous. The wording is always unclear and questions often get the definitions of terms wrong. Because I answer to a grade nine level my responses are often more in depth than the algorithm can understand and it will just mark me with a zero for most questions. I understand that due to it being an automatic marking system it cannot understand more in depth answers however this sets an awful precedent for students as they are not only forced to give lower level responses to avoid wrong answers but they are also taught incorrect definitions. I think teachers can stand to do their job by marking 30 sheets a week.

This is the only decent Sparx but still you have to do flashcards which are still annoying and this Sparx made me get 4 hours of sleep since most of the questions are on stuff that I'm not even learning. If I had to say one word about it it would be hell. Please don't exist for longer.

Sparx science is a nightmare

I will put in an answer tell me it's wrong than it proceed to tell me the answer i just put in is the correct answer. I also think thing that making students do 100% of the work or get a detention is harsh but the problem is the hints because half the time the hints DONT HELP BECAUSE IT DOSENT TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO DO.I have been stuck on a single sparx question for over 10 minutes before because the hints don't help and I need 100% complete.

this does not teach us now... take some advice from me will ya... people rush sparx because if they do no get all the question finished they will get a detention. they rush it sooo much they barely learn anything... if you take advice from me i would like you idiots to make sparx a platform where not everything needs to be perfect and when someone gets a question wrong but finished count it as finished and if they want to retry they can LIKE SENACA like omg senaca is actually good but sparx? sparx is planning some next level world domination

I genuinely think that Sparx Science is an abomination. I literally put in the correct answer. BUT if I put a capital letter in front of it or something like that. IT.STILL.MARKS.IT.WRONG. Why does it genuinely exist?! ALSO if you don’t complete it to 100% at my school (Or spend at least 30 mins to and 1hr) YOU GET A FLIPPIN DETENTION

I would like to politely request TrustPilot add a .25 for this utter abomination of a platform, because this BARELY works, I now have to do this every week on science and it takes hours. One of the worst platforms I had the displeasure of using

Sparx science. To be entirely honest it is a lot better than sparx maths and is the only kind of sparx i will willingly do. Yes it is still crap but it's still decent.

I will be honest, Sparx Science is so much better than shitty Maths. Sparx Science is way easier for me to complete
