Home emergency service is not worth it.
Home emergency cover via nationwide but despite calling at 7.30am and having no hot water or heating (I have two kids so you can only imagine how tough this was) and living in a central london location they said they couldn't send out anyone until the next day. 15 minutes on hold to talk to anyone. The person I eventually spoke to even said that if they didn't have a part they needed it would be another 48 hours. Not a real home emergency service! I had no problem finding another service who could come out within 2 hours.

CET’s home emergency plumbing service…
CET’s home emergency plumbing service was absolutely fantastic — Ironman Sam went above and beyond, fixed everything perfectly, took a few trips but CET ensured the same plumbing technician here as assigned. Thank you. Sam even gave me some helpful plumbing tips before leaving.
The office support staff were just as impressive, they were able to prioritise because of my vulnerable parents and having the patience to help me understand the plumbing issues , thank you and for keeping everything on track with their modern technology and letting me know exactly when the plumbing technician would arrive.
Professional, efficient, and friendly from start to finish. Highly recommend CET!

Disappointing Time Frame
We were not given an appointment in the 1st 30hrs, despite chasing twice. Then we could only get an afternoon appointment meaning we (Pensioners) had no heating or hot water for over 48hrs. Once here, the engineer identified and fixed the fault within an hour.

Had a leak in radiator which was faulty TRV the plumber turned the water supply to radiator and did not replace the TRV had call a local plumber who charged £100 with part but CET policy says they cover upto £500 parts and labour

Excellent Service from Start to Finish
The service was prompt and professional. I had a home emergency (leaking water tank) and I was given a time window of when the plumber/heating engineer would attend. On arrival I was told that the tank would need replacing. The heating engineer was knowledgable,friendly and reassuring. He gave me advice on how to prevent further damage whilst awaiting the fitting of a replacement tank. He sent a report while still here at the house to speed up the insurance process. The incident occurred on a Friday and on the Monday I got a follow up call to advise me what I needed to do next. Very pleased with the efficiency and polite attitude from start to finish.

very poor service
very poor service. will not recommend anyone. I am a mother with 2 children. drainage was blocked. engineer came he around 1930 didn't have a torch even. said she couldn't do it and he said some one will call me back. no one called cannot wait I have to get a private plumber.

Don’t bother with this disaster of a business
I only have one star because I couldn’t proceed without selecting. I contacted this absolutely abysmal company on Saturday morning at 9:15 -I was ( and still am in need of an electrician I was told they are having trouble locating a contractor but it would be resolved asap automated text messages all morning with various versions of we can’t get an electrician to you. At 3 pm Saturday afternoon I rang them again -outcome of that call was find someone myself to do the job as they can’t find anyone -if they approve the person I find I will be reimbursed !!! The lady on the next call asked me ( when I had explained everything) what can she do to put it right !!!!! My reply was obviously find me an electrician. She then asked did I want to raise a complaint I said I’d do that myself
Fast forward to Monday at 8 am I phoned again -still trying to find an electrician - if I haven’t heard from them in 2 hours to call back !!! I really won’t be bothering - I’ve contacted my insurance broker who use these people and explained it all again.
What an absolute shambles of a company - I’m now going to find my own electrician and will be sending CET my bill
Edit- following on from all of this fiasco I had a phone call Monday afternoon - the lady who phoned was really pleased to tell me she had found someone who could come on Tuesday !!!! I declined her offer.

It has been a week of being let down to
It has been a week of being let down and messed around by this company and their contractors. A week with no boiler and still no engineer in sight to fix it. The boiler was deemed unsafe and yet they said they would repair it instead. The last straw today: the parts were broken in the warehouse after apparently they werent available. We cannot find out what actually happened and I have 2 kids with special needs and no heating no hot water. I am drafting a letter to both Trading Standars and the FCA. Absolutely disgraceful, arrogant and incompetent as a whole.

We have a wet patch on our ceiling…
We have a wet patch on our ceiling with a 70cm radius; the hot water cylinder is above. The leak does not appear to be from cylinder so thought maybe a pipe. Reported it to CET but because it wasn’t dripping water they didn’t want to know.The damp is probably coming from a pipe and could be dangerous because of electrics. We have the home emergency as part of our comprehensive insurance policy which is due for renewal in March. What a pathetic and dangerous response from CET and needless to say we will be cancelling this portion of the policy at renewal date.
FOLLOWING YOUR RESPONSE.
Unfortunately, I have deleted all correspondence regarding this but the person who I spoke and who made the decision was Julie.I have since sorted the problem out by myself and since my insurance renewal is due on the 1st March I have cancelled the emergency cover from our policy going forward. Looking at the Trustpilot reviews it seems that 17% are 1* so many more people, other than ourselves, have clearly had issues by, in my opinion,poor decision making.

Unsatisfactory
Excellent response. Call quickly answered and engineer slot booked immediately. Jamie the Engineer attended on time and solved the problem. Turned out he and I had served in the same regiment, so had the added bonus of good gossip.
Sadly the fault reoccurred 2 days later leaving us without heating or hot water and with a 5 day response time, not what I’d call an emergency service.
