After looking online about snagging for a new build I found CG New Build Snagging. The reviews and pictures looked good and the fact Chris is independent made me think he was the man for the job and he defiantly was. Top bloke no pebble unturned would highly recommend. If you are buying a new build having it snagged is a must .

We had the pleasure of working with Chris at CG New Build Snagging, and we cannot recommend him highly enough. From the outset, he was prompt and quick to respond to emails and messages. His inspection was thorough, and within 24 hours, we received a detailed report outlining all the issues, complete with photos and references to the relevant regulations. After the inspection, Chris has remained on hand to offer advice and support for any ongoing snags, which was invaluable. His services provides priceless peace of mind, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone in need of snagging services.

Chris has been fantastic completing the snagging on our home. He facilitated completing the snagging on a Sunday morning which was very convenient for us around work and everything involved with moving in to the home. Chris explained everything to us about the snagging process and was also able to advise us on other things due to it being our first home and everything being new to us. Chris went above and beyond and was also able to get our snagging report to us the same day. Chris also provided us with blue light discount which was an added bonus. Not only was the process thorough (73 page doc), but because he wasn't in and out, and done.

He's been crucial in making sense of the ongoing mess I've had to deal with from my developer, who have tried to take advantage of my ignorance on the standards they are meant to keep to.

So the ongoing aftercare process surprisingly enough, has been better than what I got with TW. Being able to ask questions, get explanations, provided relevant links and docs.

So, very happy. You'd be surprised how much you miss when everything is new. 5 months down the line with my developer messing about, and I can still reach out to clarify issues.

Chris was recommended to us and was the best decision we had made. Moving into a new build property is great but trying to remain objective and look past the shiny new house is difficult. Chris identified and recorded a list of snags that we would never had noticed. Incredibly professional, knowledgable and all round really nice chap. Chris also follows up to answer questions and give support and guidance if required. We highly recommended CG New Build Snagging as your first port of call if you have just moved in to your new home.

Chris conducted a snagging survey for us back in July 2024 and he was absolutely exceptional. We had booked him in the day after completion but due to legal issues our completion day had to delay. Chris was super accommodating and rescheduled his own personal plans at a short notice to help us with the survey. His attention to detail was second to none and he really spends his time in and out of the property to ensure all snags have been captured. A very thorough report is then provided with pictures of any snags citing relevant regs to be sent to the developer. For the price that he charges, it’s genuinely a steal his service is second to none. Highly recommend.

When seeking a post-completion survey of my property after a year here, I can only say how glad I am to have contacted C G New Build Snagging.
At this stage, I was keen to identify issues that would be consequential from a building and construction perspective, rather than those merely cosmetic in nature.
Chris was knowledgeable, professional and very thorough. Over the course of six hours, he worked methodically through my home, from top to bottom!
He fully involved me in the inspection process throughout the day and ensured that I was understanding of any anomalies that he had identified.
I received a comprehensive, illustrated inspection report within 24 hours of the survey, the findings furthermore evidenced with reference to all relevant Building Regulations and/or NHBC Guidance too.

This is an update of my snag. My builders are continuing to fix more than 100 issues that Chris identified in my house. From all kitchen and utility room cabinets being replaced due to bubbling, to leaks and insulation fixes in the showers, to insulation fixes on most of the doors and window as well as 2nd and 1st floor floors needing replacement due to microcracking. The last issue means that we have to move out for 2 weeks but our builder will be paying for our accommodation during that time. End of warranty snagging is an absolute must if you ask me, and Chris really stands out amongst his peers.

Chris completed a post completing snagging report of my new build Avant Home. He assured me that the house was well build, but there were some issues that needed rectifying by the builders. I genuinely believe without this report, the builders would have been reluctant to fix many of the problems I had highlighted.
I highly recommend Chris.

We engaged Chris to undertake a post-completion snagging survey of our new build home. We didn’t get much notice from the developer of a completion date, but Chris was able to accommodate us the day after we moved. ‘Thorough’ almost seems an inadequate word to describe the level of detail in Chris’s survey! He spent six hours looking into all areas of our new home. Chris highlighted a couple of urgent issues before he left, and then followed up within 48 hours with a very detailed and comprehensive report, including images and references to relevant legislation and guidance. This was passed to our Site Manager, who is currently working through fixing the snags. Chris’s ongoing support has been really useful in helping us to understand some of the issues, in turn helping us to follow them up with the developer. Should we move house again (which we don’t intend to do for a good few years!) then we’d definitely use Chris again.

Chris sorted out his availability to snag our house despite a short notice from us, much appreciated!

Chris is such a detail mind person and with his professionalism we are absolutely satisfy on the job that has been done!

He shows his care on his customer (us) even after the snagging, he constantly checking on the fixing process from the developer which is brilliant!

Chris performed a post-completion inspection for us and he has been absolutely brilliant! Very knowledgeable and experienced, obviously, knows his onions incredibly well. He was very thorough, looked into spaces I would have never thought to look into and would have never thought there might be an issue over there at all. Clearly explained the biggest issues before he left and was extremely quick with putting everything into a report despite of the need for him to drive 2 hours back home from where we are. The report has been passed over to the Customer Care and developer is working now to resolve the issues.
I’d say, hiring Chris for snag inspection is the best investment into your property and in your peace of mind. It will be my absolute pleasure to recommend Chris to my friends!

When we first met Chris and were showing him the few things we had noticed ourselves, he instantly picked up on numerous things just walking through the house. By the time my wife and I left him to it an hour later I already came away feeling like he was worth every penny.

He came across as knowledgeable and thorough and quite simply left no stone left unturned, taking nearly 9 hours of his time after a long drive to our house to make sure things were correct. You could tell he genuinely cared, and after the unfortunate building regulations failures discovered even offered to contact the construction director himself to make sure things were rectified. He also immediately made plans to check in with us when he was working at another house on our estate a month later, simply because he wanted to make sure things were sorted for us.

He sent videos and photos throughout the day as evidence of things he found and nothing was too much trouble to explain.

Our house unfortunately was of poor quality and was nearing thousands of snags, yet he still took the time after such a long day to ensure the report was completed for us to progress things as soon as possible with developer. Nothing was too much trouble for him to explain or walk through.

On top of all this work related comments, he was also a genuinely lovely bloke.

We met our neighbours today as he happened to be showing his mother the plot he had reserved whilst I was reading the water meter and I had no hesitation in recommending Chris to him.

Many of these problems would cost Chris fee to sort or cause very expensive issues left unchecked down the line so we saw this as an investment in future proofing our home. More so than this, Chris found some fire safety issues in the garage which were under our one year olds bedroom. It doesn’t bear thinking about the potential consequences if we had not booked his services.

I can’t fault Chris or his service, and would recommend him to anyone needing snagging done.

Chris visited our property late last year, spending over 8 hours conducting his meticulous inspection process including thermal imaging. There is nothing he will not see due to his experience & expertise, but others including myself would never have identified. During this time and at the end of his very long day he will take time to talk you - specifically showing you those more nuanced issues. We were already impressed that much, we immediately recommended him to personal friends and neighbours who were similarly impressed.

Sadly our property wasn’t in good standing, with over several hundred issue identified. Despite this, I received the extensive & detailed report in full within 48 hours including a photograph and description for each item. This is extremely helpful when working with your builder to remediate or confirm they’ve actually remediated the issue in the first place.

Unfortunately, our house builders did not respond positively to the report and the contents, however our personal friend’s builders did despite saying ‘you don’t need a snagger’ - the reaction you get depends on your builder rather than Chris or his report. Despite being paid in full prior to issuing the report, Chris has supported us personally for months - engaging in written technical correspondence with the builders, visiting the property when passing nearby to inspect key items remedial works, giving me briefing notes ahead of key meetings as my complaint was escalated. After all the rebuttals of the builder on the initial report, every single item in the end was accepted without Chris asking for an additional penny.

If you’re deliberating on whether to use Chris Greenwood, stop looking anymore. He is personally invested in you and your home, should you be fortunate to get a relatively clean report then you can know that it is of the standard it should be, if you should be unfortunate that it falls short, he will be alongside you throughout the entire process. Either way it’s the best money we’ll have spent EVER on our home!

Apologies for the delay in this review, but I want to commend Chris for his exceptional work. In late Jan, he meticulously inspected our house, leaving no stone unturned. His professionalism and thoroughness were evident throughout the process. Chris's attention to detail ensured that nothing was overlooked, knowing that builders tend to cut corners.

Every penny spent on his services was well worth it. We have been recommending Chris to other buyers too.

Chris, I must say thank you for carrying out a thorough investigation and compiling the identified issues in time within 6hrs of completion.
The job didn’t end there, he put himself forward when Taylor Wimpey started their antics to annul some raised issues, helped to defend the right course of action to be taken.

We asked Chris for a post-completion inspection on our new build home two days after moving in, and I highly recommend him for anyone looking for piece of mind.

Chris spent a full working day thoroughly checking every aspect of the home down to an incredible level of detail - including places you wouldn't even think to examine. He came armed with various tools including a thermal camera which immediately identified several areas of missing insulation, which simply wouldn't have been found in a typical visual inspection.

In total, Chris identified 115 issues in a new build home by a housebuilder with a relatively good reputation - issues he rightly pointed out might not necessarily affect the immediate enjoyment of our new home, but could cause problems or affect or investment further down the line unaware to us.

Chris also offers assistance in the post-inspection engagement with the housebuilder, so he doesn't just identify snags - he actually helps you see them through to full resolution in situations where housebuilders might try to avoid doing so.

A 5/5 experience with a thoroughly decent guy with a huge wealth of snagging talent and industry experience. We highly recommend Chris and CG New Build Snagging.

UPDATE - 16 October:
If I could rate this higher than maximum, I would. It's been a long journey but we finally had the final repairs identified by Chris carried out this month by our housebuilder - there's so many things that me and my partner see around the house where we think "imagine if we'd just let that slide, or if that hadn't been snagged so early on". Everything looks great now. We've not had a single argument of pushback from any of the snags identified thanks to how detailed Chris' report was. Quite literally the best value for money we've ever had from a service - thanks again to CG New Build Snagging.

As proof of how good Chris is, even the customer care lead at our housebuilder mentioned she'd referred her own son to get a survey carried out by Chris for his first home a few months ago, and that Chris found a bunch of snags to be corrected from the housebuilder over there as well. High praise!

We had CG New Build Snagging come and do our post completion snagging on our New Build. The best thing we did they compiled an in depth but clear snagging list for us to give our builder. He found things that we would never of picked up on. Christopher was professional and obviously knows is stuff. Was impressed with the attitude not only to find the snags but to praise what good he found.

We will be booking him again for the 2 year snagging.

For anyone buying a new build an inspection is essential. There were so many problems and issues with our new home. A lot of them we would not have known about. Chris has been brilliant. He is very knowledgeable and knows the required standards. He is friendly and very approachable with any questions or anything you are unsure about. Thanks for all your help and support.
