Excellent service given to me in terms of their returns policy, the assistance and advice given by Andrea was exemplary - she went to every possible effort to ensure our shopping and returns experience with this company was exceptional and ensured our replacement shoes arrived in adequate time for the occasion. BUYER BEWARE. Inferior quality. Paying for the name only

BUYER BEWARE. Purchased men's shoes with a retail price of over £500 pounds as a gift. Less than a year later the soles are falling apart. I believe they use substandard manufacturing processes in their factory store or their products are just inferior quality. I'm now trying to make a s75 claim as they are refusing to repair or replace the faulty item. Highly recommend purchasing from NPS Shoes & Solovair in Wollaston. Never had an issue with their shoes or customer service and am sorry I listened to a recommendation to try this company. My friends were surprised at both the lack of quality and the lack of customer service and will also no longer use this company for their footwear.

We reached out via Trustpilot to request further information, as we were unable to identify your order from the details provided. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response.

Based on the information available, we believe this relates to a case we have already reviewed. The shoes were returned to us and inspected by our team, and the condition was found to be consistent with wear and damage through use, with no manufacturing fault identified.

We did advise that a repair could be carried out on a chargeable basis; however, this option was declined and the shoes were returned.

We appreciate this may not have been the outcome you were hoping for, but we stand by the findings following inspection and apply the same standards consistently across all cases. Cheaney HQ

Absolutely blown away by the customer…

Absolutely blown away by the customer service.

Louise and the repairs team have done an outstanding job with fixing my husband's leather boots. They were relatively new but he got soaked in a downpour and mould had started to grow inside the boots, in really hard to reach areas. We sent the boots in to Louise and the team and they have been beautifully restored and look like new again. Louise was so responsive and helpful and we are so thankful for such an incredible service from Cheaney. We won't be going anywhere else when buying shoes or boots - a huge thank you from us.

I love my Cheaney shoes but….,,

I love my Cheaney shoes. However it is super frustrating that they haven’t emailed me or are able to place an order for my shoe size that has been out of stock for weeks now.

Are your customer systems integrated with your planning and gross demand forecasting tools? They should be!

My shoe were delivered after christmas…

My shoe were delivered after christmas when should have been by 23 rd . They arrived and left heel felt very out of sink. I tried to call customer service. All on holiday for two weeks. Took to shop . Suggested wear in the heel hurt severely leaving pain. For days after . Eventually after many calls after they returned i sent back by shop to check. They said they were fine. Spoke to the condescending production manager on phone . eventually . Insisted a second pair should be sent for me to make choice . Tried both original pair still felt awkward in left heel . I had to take the second pair . Wearing now and no problem with this pair at all . There had been mention if nails coming through which are in fact tacts . I was told by lois i would receive some compensation for all my troubles . When called by shop assistant this was laughed off by her and denied . £ 800 pair shoes no proper heel production inspection and then problem in denial anything was a miss by production manager . And then no compensation and laughed at and lied to .
Never ever again. Never ever by from Cheaney it is not Churches at all nor the very good Crocket and Jones that were open christmas and i have always got great shoes from .
Don't buy Cheaney . Its shody production and Customer Service at Factory end . The Shop Man Alfie was fantastic . Though . Covent Garden

Regarding your attempts to contact customer service, our factory and offices were closed over the Christmas period, as is the case with many UK footwear manufacturers. During this time our customer service team were unavailable, which unfortunately meant we were unable to respond until we reopened in the New Year. However, it’s worth noting that all our stores were open from Boxing Day and as your original purchase was from in store they would have been able to help.

We are sorry to hear that the first pair felt uncomfortable in the heel and caused you pain when you tried to wear them. The shoes were inspected by our Production Director, and no manufacturing fault was identified that would explain the issue you experienced.

To resolve the matter, we arranged for several replacement pairs to be available for you to try at our Covent Garden store, and we are pleased that the pair you selected now fits comfortably.

As we have already replaced the original shoes with a brand-new pair, I’m afraid we are unable to offer any further compensation. We do, however, appreciate your feedback and hope you enjoy wearing your new pair. Cheaney HQ

Always pleased happy, but…

Never had a less than a favourable experience with repairs although my pair of suede boots returned by post this morning, to improve on the ‘out of box’ experience perhaps a little more time in refreshing the ‘nap’ and I can only suggest marks left by the polishing of the edge of the Daimite sole?

I ordered the tiger moth high leg boots in colour whisky.. absolutely perfect extremely well made very comfortable you can tell by how they are made that Joseph Chaney and sons are masters of their craft with outstanding skills at making shoes and boots... My son ordered shoes totally 1500 dollars for a wedding they have not shipped after three weeks and he has emailed and they have not contacted him to find out about the order yet they charged his card.

Great Service

Many thanks to Ann and Met in Leeds for arranging a sole replacement on my much-loved boots– they’ve come back looking fantastic and with much better grip. I’m also very thankful to Kirsty from the customer service team for helping me with the a special order of two pairs of shoes, which I absolutely love! Thanks again for your patience and advice.

Spitalfields’ Cheaney were fantastic after failed online order with Cheaney.co.uk

Ordered a pair of Bexhills from Cheaney.co.uk online and received (late, without notification of a mishap having occurred their end) a battered box with what looked like a worn pair of Bexhills (not worn to excess, of course, but enough to be not new: maybe a return … who knows). Anyway, the return happened relatively smoothly, but I still needed a new pair of shoes, what had now become URGENTLY TOMORROW for an important event. Called their shop in Spitalfields (Brushfield St) and was told they’d have the pair for me to try on the next day. Went round there, and, indeed, they had managed to get a pair for me in time. And this time NEW, UNWORN and looking quite fantastic (as Cheaney’s always do). Service at Spitalfields was excellent and I could wear my new shoes to said important event with joy and pride. Thus, A HUGE THANK YOU to staff at the Spitalfields shop! - After yet another damp squib of an online experience, virtuality seems ever less appealing, and shopping in a SHOP, talking to REAL PEOPLE, who know their stuff, is the way forward! THANK YOU SPITALFIELDS!!!

Outstanding customer Service and Support

I initially had a lot of problems with my password and was unable to place an order. And customer service were absolutely brilliant - I never write reviews, but for Cheaney I have made an exception. They even made a pair of shoes I had bought lighter for me, as I preferred the lighter version they used to sell.

Cheaney: Heritage Brand, Zero Integrity & Privacy Breach

Cheaney should be ashamed of itself.

I received a pair of their loafers as a gift — brand new, in the box. Before even wearing them, I went to the Spitalfields store because they felt tight. The salesman told me to “wear them in” and even sold me a £60 shoe tree.

I trusted their advice. The result? Severe pain, shoe bites, and bleeding injuries. I provided photos of the damage and even sent a picture from the very first day I wore them.

Instead of accountability, Cheaney dismissed my injury, denied their own staff’s advice, and claimed the shoes were “worn.” They implied I was dishonest — twisting the facts to avoid responsibility.

And then came the most disgraceful part: during this dispute, their staff actually looked up my LinkedIn profile. That’s a blatant privacy breach, completely irrelevant to resolving the problem, and deeply unprofessional.

So let’s be clear: Cheaney’s so-called “heritage” and “craftsmanship” mean nothing when the reality is a brand that hides behind policies, gaslights customers, and crosses privacy boundaries rather than doing the right thing.

I’ve binned the shoes and I will never buy from Cheaney again. If you value your money, your dignity, or your privacy, stay away.

As mentioned in our previous correspondence, and on the other review; without proof of purchase - such as a receipt or a screenshot of the transaction from a bank statement - we are unable to verify where and when the shoes were purchased.

Furthermore, even with proof of purchase, we are unable to offer exchanges on shoes that show significant signs of wear, as is the case with your pair.

We had offered to apply a leather softener to help improve the fit; however, the shoes were returned requesting a replacement in a larger size, which we are unable to accommodate under these circumstances - Cheaney HQ

Great service from Cheaney Shoes

Great service from Cheaney Shoes. I bought a pair of “Dover”suede loafers but unfortunately Cheaney only make them in “F” fitting which they say will fit most people. My feet must be wider than most as they were too tight. The return procedure was easy and a credit was very quick. I am disappointed as I liked the shoes which are well made in Britain.
