ChillWell floods the webpage with rave reviews, all written by them. This small box of a fan, gives no relief whatsoever. Not to mention, there is a product of a different name, by the same company, that sells for $39 at home depot. It is the same product. Chillwell just repacked it and markets toward people feeling the heat of global warming. You've go to give them that. Marketing. Whats new. But is is false, very little cooling. You would be better off opening your freezer and placing a fan nearby.

The product was fine at first but after two weeks it went out and they tried to work with me on a replacement which worked for a couple of weeks but unless you want to use it on the lowest setting it will not work it keeps shutting off. I was happy at first because everything they said it did but you can’t run it at top speed for too long. I gave them 1 last chance to help me and the only thing was returning the product with postage and handling so even though the gave me great discount what good is a product that doesn’t work after such a short time. I love to give good reviews but this is no getting my good review 1 only because it worked for a time. I have had no problems with them getting first a replacement unit then two refund amounts then they just sent me an email to credit the full amount so far the main issue was then working full speed at the lowest speed it does work I am posting this as to be fair with them

Hallo, wir haben die kleine "ChillWell 2.0"- Klimaanlage aufgrund der Werbung, Beschreibung und diverser guter Bewertungen für, laut Angebot, 89,99 € bestellt. Lieferung innerhalb von 3 Tagen. Die Rechnung lautete allerdings 122,18 €. Auf Mailnachfrage wurde uns in englischer Sprache mitgeteilt, dass auf den Angebotspreis noch die Lieferkosten und "Tax" hinzukommen!!!!! Da die Anlage allerdings in keinster Weise den Ankündigungen und Leistung entsprach haben wir uns wieder per Mail erkundigt, wie das 60-Tage-Rückgaberecht abgewickelt werden soll...... seit 12 Tagen keine Antwort der Firma ChillWell.
Also erstmal Finger weg von diesem Angebot empfiehlt euch H.-O.K.

This company is a big scam. They leave off their website that you have to buy the filer for 34.00 every month, I tried to cancel right away and they refused. It had not even processed yet. Look at their feedback on BBB. Almost 700 complaints on TrustPilot for not allowing people to cancel right away and not honoring refunds. The product doesn't work. 97% rating of 1 and I'm sure it would be a 0 if they could. If you don't want it refuse shipment. If you open the box they will not refund. Their money back is a scam too. One person has been waiting 10 months for a refund. When you pull tracking on their website and put info in nothing comes up. I had to get the tracking info from Paypal. This company needs to be investigated!

I read the articles that claimed the Chillwell 2.0 is the best portable a/c and is the highest rated before buying it.

I bought 4 and received them yesterday. In the review articles it claimed the Chillwell would cool down a 375 Sq ft. Room from 86 degrees to 71 degrees in about 15 minutes. ABSOLUTE LIE.

This machine LITERALLY did not cool down one of my bedrooms, half that size, one degree. The only way you could feel any coolness is to put it directly in front of you within one foot.
For this unit to be effective, it would need to be about 5x bigger at minimum. At its current size it is just too weak and ineffective.

What makes this worse is that the 60 day money back guarantee is a sham. To be eligible to return the product, according to the return policy on the website, the a/c unit must be "brand new", unused and still be in all of its original packaging. So, this means if you try it out once, like I did, and find out it does not do what it claims it can do then you are just S.O.L. because you used it. That is a sham and a complete fraudulent return policy. It is basically buy at your own risk.

I don't know how anyone could be satisfied with this product and would severely question the legitimacy of the positive reviews.

Unit won’t come on - no charger? Came with it. No instructions - won’t run at all. Junk!

Die Geräte kühlen den Raum überhaupt nicht. Es entsteht der vermeintliche Eindruck von kühler Luft direkt vor dem Gerät, da das Wasser auf der warmen Haut kondensiert. Das gleiche passiert, wenn man schwitzt, aber es kühlt den Raum überhaupt nicht.
Sogar im Gegenteil :
Es sorgt nur für hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit, die man im Sommer überhaupt nicht gebrauchen kann und die dazu führt, dass die hohen Temperaturen den Körper noch stärker stressen.
Das Gerät hat also einen gegenüber der Werbung genau gegenteiligen Effekt !!

Ich kann jeden nur davor warnen, dass Gerät zu bestellen. 1€ wäre noch zu teuer.

Und wer auf das 60 Tage Rückgaberecht hofft : Das nutzt überhaupt nichts.
Es ist nur für UNGEÖFFNETE und UNBENUTZTE Geräte !

TL;DR version:

1) Does not cool rooms as advertised. My regular oscillating fan does a better job.
2) It actually INCREASED heat in my room and made it feel soupy.
3) Unit does not hold a charge.
4) Their return policy and customer service is awful.

Longer version:

What got me: the "reviews" on their site and on search engine results. I put trust in reviews. If other people are confirming a product's quality or usefulness, I'll give heavy weight to that and give it a go. Thousands of 4.9 - 5.0 reviews couldn't be wrong, right? Plus, Chillwell's website offered some seemingly unbeatable offers and a slick user experience.

I didn't see the Trustpilot reviews until today. Wish I had!

I bought two units about a week ago and received them just yesterday.

They include "for best results" instructions with the product which supposedly enhances cooling effectiveness.

This means you have to go through 2 extra steps (which they leave out of their marketing) to get an alleged cooling effect. Those steps are:

1) Put the cooling filter/sponge in the freezer for an hour (which you have to replace every 1-3 months apparently at $30-35 a pop)
2) Put ice in the cooling unit

Wish I had known you had to do this for maximum benefit, but I went along with their instructions, anyway.

I also attached the "super cooling" attachment (cost me an extra $40 or so) which is just a water container you freeze and attach to the cooler to supposedly enhance cooling.

All in all, I spent nearly $200 on my purchase and applied the "for best results" steps to get things cool.

The result?

After 3 hours of using the unit, my small 12 X 12 room did not cool down by even one degree. In fact, it may have gotten HOTTER. My regular oscillating fan which I've had for 7 years did a better job than Chillwell. The room next to me was cooler than the one supposedly being cooled!

Moreover, it felt "soupy" (humid) in the room. I suppose this shouldn't be a surprise since it's a humidifier, but that part isn't emphasized in their marketing.

Wish I had read the "real" reviews before buying this product, but these are buried in the search results amongst a bunch of hungry affiliate-type websites and fake review sites.

It's really concerning that so many of the search engine listings praise this product or mislead the user into believing the reviews are unbiased. Even the ones that say "Honest Customer Warning" or "Buyer Beware" are review sites promoting the product! Highly unethical and manipulative.

I'm thinking Chillwell, which is earning quite a bit of money from its marketing campaigns, is behind hiring companies to spam or craft websites with positive, misleading reviews so they lull you into selling you a cheap, ineffective product.

The only site where I got helpful (and honest) reviews was here at Trustpilot, and nearly every review there mirrored my experience: not as advertised. Wish I had seen this before falling for Chillwell's slick marketing.

Many people in the reviews here point out the horrid customer service and even more horrendous return policy. They only issue partial refunds on products you have not used, which is a preposterous, unethical, anti-consumer policy to have. If your unit breaks on the first day? Tough luck! You are stuck with it because by opening the box and using it, you can't return it for a refund.

That kind of policy ONLY benefits Chillwell and is an extremely poor and predatory manner to keep your money.

Bottom line: Do not buy. These are glorified humidifier fans from a slick, scammy, shady company with a horrible return policy. They do not cool even small rooms and the units turn off randomly even while plugged in.

Do not fall for the glowing reviews of this product of which it SEEMS there are thousands. The reviews are most likely 100% fake or paid for, and their refund policy benefits only Chillwell.

What a great disappointment because it seemed like such a promising idea.

Habe den chill well 2.0 bei der Firma Chill Well bestellt. Dann kam heraus, dass es ein Fernsehsender Jadoo TV ist. Wollte zunächst stornieren, da die Kosten für Steuern und Versand erst nach Abschluss der Bestellung ersichtlich waren und mir das Ganze dann zu teuer wurde, ging aber nicht zu stornieren. Also Email geschrieben. Die Antwort war, dass man die Annahme verweigern muss, um keine Kosten für den Versand zu zahlen.
Leider konnte ich nicht wissen, wann das Paket ankommt, also wartete ich ab und siehe da, es kam heute, aber es stand schon vor der Wohnungstür. Keine Verweigerung möglich, d.h Kosten für den Versand müsste ich komplett selber bezahlen.
Zum Artikel selbst, den ich dann behalten habe, er ist sehr laut, nichts für das Schlafzimmer und kühlt eigentlich auch nicht wie versprochen, außer man sitzt direkt davor.
Ich kann nur sagen, nochmal werde ich bei dieser Firma nicht bestellen, besser wegklicken.

I didn't even buy one. The YouTube diagram for this product shows that it's nothing but a humidifier. You don't need that in an already sweltering room.

Save your money, folks and buy an actual air conditioner.

1. I went online to purchase a Chill Well. I input my payment info and it said it was invalid. So I aborted the transaction. I then went online again to do it. Then a page flagged to say that there's a promo on. Buy 1 unit at $89.99 and the second is $49.99. I went ahead and provided the payment info. Before I could finalize the transaction, I had second thoughts and aborted the purchase.
2. The next day, I check my bank info and found out that chill well charged both purchases in spite of my aborted purchases. The transactions were not finalized and no confirmation numbers were provided. CHILL WELL WENT AHEAD AND CHARGED FOR THE PURCHASES.
3. I called them right away and explained the situation and the lady apologized and said that I could return the packages as long as they are not opened. Nevertheless, my husband opened it and I decided to keep the unit.
4. A few days later the package with 2 units were delivered. I then called customer service and said that I would return them. I was told to take to the post office. I asked for a return label and was told that it was not necessary. I went and it was refused because there was no return label.
5. I called chill well again and told them what happened. Customer service then said that I pay for the return and the COST WOULD BE REIMBURSED.
6. I did that and enclosed the receipt for the return. Then chill well sent me an email and said all refunds have been processed and thanked me for the purchase. I DID NOT RECEIVE THE SHIPPING COST and was told that chill well does not reimburse for the return even though three different customer service agents said that I would be reimbursed.

I told customer service that the agents represent the company and all three cannot be saying the same thing if such a policy does not exist.

To date, I have not received my shipping cost and find it so frustrating that the company is so dishonest. This is amounting to fraud and I will be reporting to the Fraud Department.

I wish I could give this product a -zero. This product does nothing as described, the reviews are fake. Contact the seller for a refund, they said they would do a partial refund. I paid a total of $129 and they issued a refund of $9.62. Horrible product, true scam DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. JUST BUY A REGULAR FAN IT WORKS BETTER.

Do not buy this product it sucks ! They are not telling the truth when they say if you are not happy with product you can get a full refund . They do not give you your money back at all . It doesn’t cool off anything g and they need to charged all the ti e . Do not waste your time or money on this product .

Unit is overpriced and not very efficient. Would not hold a charge. Company refused to accept a return gave a 30% refund instead. Advertises that the unit can cool any room. That is false.

with a full charge it ran 2 hours the first time, 1 hour 40 minutes the 2nd time and only one hour the 3rd time.

The chillwell 2.0 blows cooler air then a small fan. It has to be very close to you to feel anything at all. I was first disappointed when I went to purchase it from the company and thought the total was going to be $80 but then the shipping added up to $100. They also try to get you to buy all the extras before you check out. I should have known when they say “limited time deal” or “they are going fast” I did receive it in a week which is good. They also don’t give you a shipping confirmation which was strange. You have to look it up on a separate website. I did watch some reviews on YouTube before buying but most of them must have been payed advertisements. “to good to be true” There was a few YouTubers that were honest. The replacement cartridge is $34! So not looking forward to that. I also thought about returning because they advertise this great money back guarantee but get this- It has to be new and unused!!! How is anyone going to decide if they like it if they can’t try it first? So with that I am stuck with it and will use it when I am cooking in my hot kitchen this summer. I have to keep it on the counter at full speed, with a frozen cartridge, cold water and ice on top to get any kind of cool air blowing. At full speed with the boost it only runs for just under 1 hour then you have to plug it in or recharge. They are asking way to much$$ for this and it’s replacement cartridges. With what I get out of it it’s worth half or less of what it’s sold for.

This little portable AC unit is actually the worst purchase ever made. It claims to cool at least a 350 s.f. room 'within minutes'; it couldn't even cool a room much smaller than that. Plus the fact that it keeps turning off and won't let it be turned back on until about 40 minutes has passed. Additionally, the $10 electrical plug (to attach to the USB cord) sold by Chillwell got REALLY hot during recharging; the quality and safety of this plug seems sketchy at best. And in order to get a complete refund the product 'must be unused' -- and how, may I ask, would a consumer know that the product is horrible and ask for a refund UNLESS they ACTUALLY USED it? Their offer is for the consumer to keep it, but get a partial refund. So to reinterate: the product does NOT do what it claims and the return policy is also somewhat suspect as far as fairness to the consumer.
