Received my unit Jun 29, 2022. Unit would only run 15 minutes after being fully charged. HORRIBLE customer service hours (I'm on Pacific Time) & experience. She was disinterested, I had to repeatedly tell her that a replacement USB cable (offered) had nothing to do with the defective battery, and she ended the call by saying that they had no replacement units in stock (no ETA given) and that I'd have to call them back "another time". She then hung up on me. The "rechargeable" aspect really appealed to me. The changing light colours feature seems pointless. I put in a "defective product" claim with my credit card company; they gave me a full credit and they forwarded this complaint to chillwell who never responded within the 45 day time limit. I took the unit to a local merchant who collects electronics for recycling. I would not recommend this product.

Don't buy this crap as they don't work!!! Replaced this crap with a $28 Walmart fan that was FAR superior. Still awaiting a partial refund after being told to keep or donate them which is a joke. Two calls no refund. Nor would they email a refund confirmation. I wish I would have read the Trustpilot review before I spent $200 bucks!

DO NOT BUY THIS. We got the units early June after a very delayed shipping, then returned right away. They received the return promptly, but as of today, Aug 24, have not refunded my account. I have called 4 times, and each time someone says something different, and to check in a week. It's been 7 weeks +/-. On one of my follow up calls with support, they said their system showed a refund was attempted on 7/16. but it got declined. They had no idea why and suggested I call my bank. I did and my bank said no such attempt showed in their system. I went as deep as the fraud department just in case, they reported the same thing. On my next follow up call with chillwell, I let them know the problem wasn't with my bank and the support person said she detected a problem with their system. Didn’t give any estimate of when it would be fixed or rather it would be fixed, and asked to give it 3 more days. I gave it 14. I called today and the new support person said he did something different and that this time I would get my refund. When I asked what he did, he skirted around and didn't explain. When I asked when I would receive it, he said he couldn't give a date but to check NEXT WEEK.

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. These are expensive little plastic pieces of garbage. I tried to return two of them within 20 days let alone the 60 days I had. Would have sooner but was on vacation. Anyways, called customer service and they said they couldn't take the open one back which is ridiculous because I had all the packaging and how can I see if I am satisfied with it for their guarantee if I don't open it and TRY it? I was told I could have them half price I said no I don't want them. I did everything to send them back but guess what? THEY didn't even want them back. Told me to donate them..to WHO WHO would want them!? I finally said what is the best you can do for me? REP said Ma'am I will refund you for them and it will take about 14 days for the refund. I asked where to send them back and she said just keep them or donate. AGAIN, they are useless. I wouldnt give them to my worst enemy. They leak, power on and off and do not cool even in front of my face with the chilled filter in place. It is more like a teeny humidifier and it doesn't even do that well. Literally dispurses water droplets ALL over your desk, nightstand or table. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT TRUST CHILLWELL!

BIG SCAM! I bought 2 chillwell portable air cond.s + an extra filter. They ran for an hr at most & did NOTHING to cool down a very sm bathroom. I've tried to contact chillwell for a mo.~ no reply back. JUST READ ON THIER SITE THEY ONLY ACCEPT RETURNS ON UNOPENED & UNUSED PRODUCTS!!! Now my emails to chillwell won't even send/go to their website 😒

Chillwell, Ontel, whatever they call themselves, are the worst when it comes to fulfilling orders. On top of that, their customer service and accountability for their poor performance are also atrocious. I made an order on July 3. Around the 18th, I got an email saying the units had been delivered to my address. I checked the lobby of my building since they also weren't at my door: nothing. I called, was placed on hold and transferred, had to repeat myself, then got a guy who told me that the items had not even left the warehouse! Mind you, what's the problem to ship when I'm in New York and the place from whence the units were coming is in New Jersey? After sending me not one but two emails saying it was delivered, it hadn't even left the warehouse!? I struggled and struggled with these people, disputed the charges with my credit card company and told Chillwell that I would. Finally, afterwards, after I completely gave up, the units arrived, only to turn out to be little toys a child would play with! What a ripoff after all that I went through to even receive them. They don't work! I didn't request a light show! All that seems to work are the different color lights you can turn on! For what? Total and complete buyer's remorse. As others have said, I wish I'd read other reviews, all of which were negative.

Paid $250 for 4 little units. Hoping they work as well as the reviews said. Should have come here first.

Reasons to avoid ChillWell

1. Took 6 weeks to get.

2. In week 3/4 I emailed them and asked for the order to be cancelled. No response. No customer service phone number.

3. Followed up about 7-10 days later, again no response.

4. 2-3 days after my follow up I get an email notification stating my order is being processed and will be sent out the next day.

5. Package gets delivered while I’m at work so I can’t send it back. Email to request a refund and shipping label. They offer $125 credit but not a full refund, even though they have a 60 day return policy.

6. I declined their offer and again, asked for a full refund and a shipping label to return since they blatantly ignored all my requests.

7. Still no response.

8. Will be calling Capital One to dispute charges, since they aren’t cooperating.

ChillWell / ChillWellShop.com is a scam. Sure they are cute but they don’t work in humid climates.

Went to the website to check out their devices. I put the unit in the cart to see what the total cost would be after shipping and taxes. The submission form said that it would let you review your order before it would complete. It never went to a review page, After I closed out of the web page without completing the sale, It processed without my consent. I notified the company immediately that I did not initiate the sale and to please cancel it. I tried contacting their customer service number and never reached a person. It took the company 3 weeks to email me back and say that my issue had already been resolved. They never even addressed my issue to begin with and I still have not gotten a refund for an item that I've never received. BTW, They got an old address from Paypal which I never had a chance to see. Do not purchase anything from this company.

Horrible waste of money...Out of 6, only 1 will work for an extended time and not leak...OPPS, it just died...SOOO...Out of 6, 6 aren't worth a crap....OHHH...And they wouldn't return our calls or emails or send us a return label...So guess who got screwed and who got $400 richer...DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT...Seriously.

It doesn't cool and only runs about an hour before it loses charge. It can't be used plugged in because the cord is too short to reach a socket. I have emailed them several times with no response. P[ease do not purchase this piece of junk.

This is the single worst purchase I have ever made online. This thing is a piece of junk. It doesn't do what they say, doesn't cool any room but will cool you when it's two feet in front of you blowing straight on you. My unit leaks water all over my desk constantly and after 40 days, two of the blades on the fan snapped off and rendered the unit completely useless. Stay away from this cheap piece of junk at all costs.

Everything they say about these units is a lie. They do not work at all. trying to return them is utterly impossible. DO NOT BUY THEm. You will never get your money back.

I should have read the reviews 1st. When I did, I wanted to cancel the order. I emailed but no response. I then called the number listed on the confirmation email NO RESPONSE. I called and the line was continually busy. When I did finally get thru the gentleman asked my name and I only gave him my first name. He said that he was going to place me on hold. I said, don't you want my order number or anything he said no I have your name. Million customer and he just knew who I was by my first name. I was placed on hold for 30 mins. I called back and was again place on hold for 20 mins. I began to think this was a scam website and notified my credit card to stop payment. All of a sudden, I received an email from Chillwell mind you this is 7 days from my order date that I was magically one of the "lucky few to have reserved a spot to get in on this early". I plan to return but no return address other than what comes on the box and also have to pay return shipping because they would not respond until I stopped payment. DO NOT BUY FROM CHILLWELLSHOP.COM. VERY SHADY.

I just got my mini AC in the mail (7/9/22) and it came broken. I could hear it rattling around inside the box before I even opened it. When I did open it, the back of the unit was hanging off and a chunk of plastic was broken out from the top side of the unit which I later found inside the packaging. It was not encased in Styrofoam to keep if from being damaged in shipping. It came in a thin advertisement box and that box was put inside a heavier cardboard box and shipped to me. I tried calling the company to no avail. I was put on hold indefinitely. I tried emailing them several times and got no response. This is another scam from China which is where it’s manufactured. I didn’t know that at the time or I would never have bought it. It’s overpriced at $89 and when you pay for S&H, it come to $104.
Please don’t buy this!! I don’t know if it works because it was broken when I got it but if the customer service is any clue as to the product itself, I’m guessing it’s a piece of crap. The unit itself is incredibly flimsy and I’ll bet this company gets complaints all day long which is why you can’t get through to them.

Beware of this company, my product never shipped. There is no response to customer service emails and they never pick up the phone. I had to take it to my credit card company.

Awful product, battery only lasts about an hour, very little airflow. Tried to contact company via email and their number to return the product. No email response, on hold for ever. Stay away from this product.

SCAM

Scam company, they did not ship the product. Call centre put me on wait forever. Unable get a refund because they do not answer their email.

Per the guidelines for reviewers, I believe I am writing this within your expectations.

I received illegal Spam emails from Chill Well. Per the US Can-Spam Act, sending email marketing to individuals without permission is prohibited. The fine issued per individual illegal email sent is over $43K per occurrence.

The law is clear; product marketers, even those using a third-party marketing agency, need to comply.

This company is purposely deceptive, which makes one ask questions about the authenticity and quality of its products.

I have a screen capture of the email address from the email message. If they were an honest company, in my opinion, they would not use a randomly generated email address for EVERY email sent, and it would be from their company. Instead, the company sends messages with a random address to avoid future emails from being blocked. I believe this speaks enough about their intent to be a legitimate sender and a business one can trust. Sales are more important than breaking the law.

They will ask that I use the unsubscribe tool; however, it's known in the industry that one's email address only becomes more valuable to these marketing agencies once confirmed using the tool. The marketing company might not send me an email regarding the unsubscribed product; however, they will sell my verified email address in multiples.

I am not asking for much.

Be a good company, respect individual customers' wishes and privacy, do not be deceptive, etc., and obey federal laws protecting consumers.
