Terrible. They failed to take all our belongings, despite us explicitly checking they would fit as we had several large plants to take which we appreciated is not standard. We were assured repeatedly everything would fit. On the day, they said it didn’t. We had to leave a lot. That’s even though we had fewer items than on the film you send for a quote - including two fewer beds!
We were given four weeks free storage – except it wasn’t free. When the bill was sent we were told we would get four weeks free only if we first paid for 12 months. These ‘terms and conditions’ were not stated at any point. There were other ‘extra’ costs we weren’t told about either.
We tried to discuss the issues (there were others as well) afterwards but the company wasn’t interested.
To note, the men doing the moving on the day were very amenable and competent and apologised that we had been given the wrong information by ‘the office’.

Editing to respond to some of the most ridiculous points in CM’s nonsense reply below. As you’d expect, we’d seen our new house before we bought it, so knew we wouldn’t be using our old oven in our new kitchen. As there was an offer of ‘free’ storage we took it up and were told we could have four ‘free’ weeks which we planned to use for the oven while we looked to sell it. This ‘free’ storage cost us nearly £200. I have no idea what the prices quoted in CM’s fiction below are supposed to refer to – they are as unrelated to the reality of our experience as the rest of their story. The costs CM charged only went one way – up! If we had known these costs, we would of course have just kept the oven.
We raised all the issues clearly, fairly and repeatedly, including on the phone the Wednesday before I posted the review. CM was not interested, until this review. After failing to have our accurate review removed for being defamatory, they emailed asking to talk on 2 Feb. My reply, to Kirk at 14:06 on 2 Feb, explained our position yet again – I said (verbatim): “If you would like to discuss further over email, I’m happy to do so. It seems email would be best to ensure there’s a clear record for all.” We never heard back.
It’s slightly astonishing to read their reply – if only half as much effort were put into customer service. Terrible is now an understatement for our experience with this company. Hopefully they’ll treat customers better in the future. Or change track entirely and pursue their apparent interest in creative writing!

Great move in two parts with some possessions for disposal and the majority back to Surrey. From the time Vic came to see us through to Scott and the teams taking care of our belongings we were very impressed with the service. Would definitely recommend the company and use them again if we had a need.

I found the firm city moves excellent . They were extremely helpful with moving my piano and also moving other furniture . They were very careful not to damage anything and kind and considerate . I would highly recommend this firm .

City Moves arrived on time even when the traffic was heavy. They were quickly organised and my furniture was out of door in no time at all.
They delivered my furniture quickly . The whole thing was swift and hassle free. There was no time to worry or get stressed and my furniture was all in one piece. I would certainly recommend them.

Very quick and efficient movers. My belongings were well looked after and transported safely from Swansea to Cardiff. The movers were friendly and approachable. They were also patient, as the keys to the new property were delayed by the estate agents, and they very kindly waited.
I would recommend this company to friends and family, and would use them again should I need to move.

My removal dates changed time and time again. City moves were great. Just went with the flow. No grumbles just constant support. Their prices were fair too. Guys on the ground were friendly and efficient. All in all my move went really well.

Excellent service provided at a competitive price. The removal team turned up o.n time and made the move stress and pain free. I thoroughly recommend them to others.

We had an 18 ton truck and a 3.5 ton Luton for our move from Ammanford, the guys turned up nice and early and immediately got on with loading the vehicles and although it was probably over two hours, it seemed like minutes and we were on our way to Newbridge. We had taken out the delayed exchange insurance and I can thoroughly recommend it, because the bank’s system had crashed and it was a nightmare not knowing when it would be back up and running? After nearly 3 hours waiting the money transferred and it was all systems go. The weather was horrendous and the City moves team just worked there socks off, Great team of workers and I will certainly be recommending City Moves.

4 cheerful, cheeky chaps turned up in a lorry and a luton type van, Started work about 9, had all my house loaded by 12.15, the started to unload about 1 pm and completed by 4.30pm. Well impressed. No breakages, everything I labelled was where or near where it should have been.

Excellent Service. Would recommend. Made moving so much easier having city moves pack and move everything. All staff were friendly and helpful and all items packed securely. They also collected the empty boxes once we were all unpacked.

Cannot thank the guys at city moves enough for their help. They made a very stressful day so much easier. We used them to manage our move after selling our house due to separation. They were organised and made a plan to manage both moves at the same time to keep costs down for us. I had a broken foot on the day and they were so helpful, offering to carry cleaning supplies upstairs for me, climbing a ladder to retrieve something from the top of a wardrobe and even putting a shed door back on the runners when I accidentally broke it doing the finally checks! They were prompt, friendly considerate and really went out of their way to help. There were a couple of items that we didn't realise were built in the room and we needed to disassemble last minute, they lent tools and were really understanding. They took care to unload things at the new house into the right rooms and even helped out with organising storage with the office when my ex's new place fell through unexpectedly on the day. All the guys were kind, friendly and went above and beyond. Cannot thank them enough, would 100% recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future.

Well a stressful time made easy by this fantastic company! The men were friendly, professional and polite. They took great care with both properties, our furniture and belongings. I can't rate them high enough. Thank you to CityMoves!

Booking them was simple and straight forward, but the guys that they send are what make them great! The on-site team are careful with your items, work VERY hard and get you packed / unpacked with no worries at all.

They were fantastic professional and quick.would recommend to everyone.

Very professional removal men. Excellent service. Worked very hard. Friendly. Couldn't fault them. Had a hold up on motorway so a long day. But cheerful throughout

They arrived bang on time, they were very well mannered, they covered the floors and the stairs. They covered all the furniture and bedding, from start to finish loading vehicle was 1hr 22 min after the financial transfer we phoned them they were with us in 30 mins, they unloaded everything and put our furniture where we wanted all done in 1 hr 10 mins I would highly recommend them
