This company does not have a return policy. Ive been trying to return a dress for 2 weeks. You must contact them by email and it takes a day for a response. Each time I am offered a discount of differing amounts to keep the dress and spend money (50%) discount for something else. The dress is poor quality and looks nothing like the picture. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY

If I was able, I wouldn’t even give them a one star!
The swimsuit arrived in a pathetic plastic bag without a receipt.
Opened bag and the swimsuit was totally different from what I ordered and paid for.
After numerous emails, including everything they requested in their return policy, a refund of 15% was offered. I demanded a full refund, but they continued to say that most customers are happy with the 15% and keeping the product sent, and that it was VERY expensive for the customer to send it back anyway.
Eventually they offered 30% refund.
I was SO sick of hearing their crap, I finally, reluctantly, accepted the 30% refund , which I have received.
A SHOCKING experience!!

Shoes I ordered looked Nothing like they did online. They expected me to cover the shipping back to China. When I informed them the shipping charges would be more than the cost of the shoes they refused to cover the postage and only offered me a 32% return. DON’T shop here. Goods are cheap knockoffs.

Ordered some cute "walking shoes". Turns out to be some unlined collapsed, vinyl water moccasin one size too small.

Web site says money-back guarantee, but when I asked for a return an AI engine generated email responses offering a percentage of the Purchase price amd I would have to pay shipping .... to China.
No mention of that on their home page.

After three email "negotiations",.requesting a refund, I was finally offered a replacement at a different size and I can "keep" the too small pair.

We'll see what happens but I don't recommend doing business with this company.

The response below references a "refund" which was really a store credit to apply against a new purchase at their website.

Customer service continues to lack.

The item took a long time to be delivered, although there were updates. When it did the fabric felt horrible, silky but, thick and artificial. The item advertised certainly looks embroidered rather than the printed fabric I received. I contacted customer service to be offered a 15% refund and insult to injury - I could keep the dress!! finally 30% refund has been promised, but we'll see. This is to save me the hassle of returning it!! They also said return postage would be $30-$40. Never again.

Should have known better! Clara and Hayes website said nothing in their return policy about only offering a % of the price on a return. Now I have 2 dresses that I don’t like and they are only offering a 15% refund. How did I fall for this?? Never been scammed but can’t say that anymore.
Update 8-10-26 - I have supplied you the information you requested (the order number and the reason for the return) however, you have not replied.

(CH-117410). That’s funny because on the email you sent me regarding my refund of $28.32 references the above order number. I do not want to be contacted by your company effective today.

Please everyone check their information yourself. They have made it seem they are based in NY but they are not. The warehouse address it’s a residence in NY not a warehouse, because everything comes from China.

I wish I could upload screenshots of all the back and fourth emails with your customer service. They were all very quick and reassuring but nothing came from them as it’s a way to not get bad reviews and just let customers wait for months and forget about it.

I purchased a coat. Came in after a month looked nothing like the picture. I called and was told I can keep it and get back $23 from $145 I payed, I declined and I went through the return process. The item has been in GUANGZHOU, China since December 2025. It is August 2026 I keep reaching out they keep saying we are looking into it. FedEx is telling me the package is waiting to be picked up but no one wants to pick it up. At this point I don't care for the refund as I know I won't ever get it, but why keep lying. Your better off ordering from Shein

I purchased a pair of pleated pants in an XL. There was no size label on the pants nor was there a size on the package. The pants were quite small. I had my goddaughter try them on because she typically wears a size 4. They BARELY fit her. I notified the company. They asked me to send photos of the pants, the packages they came in, and the area where a size tag should be (showing no tag). I did all that, and I also sent a photo of the new pants on top of a pair of size 12 pants to show how small the waist is. Size 12 is typically L or XL. I asked them to send a new pair of the correct size. I also offered to return the pair I did receive. They said they would give me a $16.95 discount on a different pair of pants. (I paid twice that for the pants.) When I responded saying I would prefer that they just send the correct size of the same pants, they asked for more photos with a tape measure. The time they spent arguing with me and asking for more photos must have cost more than the cost of the pants. What ever happened to "the customer is always right"? I might understand if these were an expensive pair of pants, but they were quite inexpensive, and the quality wasn't great. I would suggest finding another store so that you actually receive the item you order.

I ordered a dress which did not match the description on the website plus the fit was terrible.I contacted them immediately that it did not fit me and I wish to return it. They offered me 10% of the cost and to keep the item.
I contacted them and asked them for a full refund once and a return label to and post back.
I was them offered a 20% refund of the total cost to keep the item as sending it back could cost more than the actual item. I checked the refund policy which states. ‘ Not the right fit? Return within 30 days, hassle-free.‘
This is a scam company who take your money and then offer you 10 or 20% back under the pretence that it will cost you much more to post it back for a full refund.

Imagine how much money they pocket from customers who wish to return items !!

There is another sales entity using the Clara & Hayes name but the email given is slightly different than this company. They are a complete ripoff as another person has posted here. Please be careful with which company you order.

Be careful. Product was a cheap polyester, badly stitched. Returns are NOT hassle free OR free. They want you to pay an international shipping charge which was most of the cost of the $50 item. Had to request three times, as they kept offering 20% refund, then 25%. Dispute finally resolved in my favor.

The boots are really comfortable and it fits perfectly. Runs true to size. They have their size charts available at the page so it's pretty easy to choose the right size for me. So far, I'm loving these boots!

I ordered the wrong size, reached out to support and they offered me free replacement. I only need to pay a small fee for the shipping. How awesome is that? Thank you so much you saved my day.
