Poor service & misleading website

Disappointing service. Purchased two items for £180. Was charged in Euros and goods were held at Customs for an additional customs charge. There is nothing on the check-out page to say that customs fees are payable on top. There is some small print saying that there may be a customs “process” but that doesn’t mention fees or additional charges. I was not aware that items were coming from out side of the EU to me in the UK or that there would be a customs charge - this isn’t on check-out page, on order email confirmations, on order invoices or in the terms and conditions on the C2G website. It is in some tiny small print on the Q&A page hidden within another question which I had to be directed to by C2G customer services.

I’ve been in discussion with C2G since - as it seems numerous others have - to complain about this. The responses have largely been defensive and borderline “it’s your problem” and not accepting of the fact that their website is misleading and misrepresentative of what customers are paying for. Numerous other reputable sites who ship worldwide do make it clear that items are being sent from outside the UK, and customs charges are chargeable in addition or they work them out for you and you pay them on check-out (eBay, FarFetch - both super up front about this). I don’t understand why C2G aren’t making this clear on their website.

I haven’t had a good experience with customer services. I’ve now overpaid for the items which I could have got for a better price elsewhere for much faster delivery (I still haven't had the items). I wish I’d read the TrustPilot reviews first. I will never use this site again.

We would like to reassure you that, following the UK's departure from the European Union, it is in UK law that orders over a certain value could be subject to customs processing. Since this process is controlled by local customs, we have no power or way of predicting it, and it is impossible for us to control or provide the possibility of advance payment.
In addition, not only is it explicit on our website that we are based in Portugal, but it is also stated in more than one place that orders may be taxed by customs and that we are not responsible for these costs.

Very poor dispenser

the dispenser continually choked and little to no spray came out despite shaking it thoroughly each time. Very frustrating to try and get a spray application.

I'm sorry that delivery took longer than expected. For standard shipping to Canada, transit time is up to 25 business days, but the norm is to take up to 10/12 days. Unfortunately, your order was awaiting delivery for 7 days, for unknown reasons.
For faster shipping, next time choose express shipping.

Payed extra $$ for a faster delivery and it took up to 18 days to arrive! It was supposed to arrive in only 5 days. Costumer service took 4 days to answer my email. Horrible experience

regarding your comment, which we appreciate, we inform you that:
Your purchase occurred on Saturday and was shipped the following Monday. It arrived in the destination country 4 days later and waited for customs clearance for 4 days. It was delivered the day after customs clearance.
As we had the opportunity to explain, customs time is not counted towards transit time because the logistics operator cannot intervene with customs.
Unfortunately, some orders take longer at customs than expected, but unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this situation.
Likewise, transit time counts from the moment of shipping and not from the moment of purchase. Even if that didn't happen, your order took 10 days to arrive, not 18 days. (perhaps there is a mix-up with another order you have placed).
Regarding email responses, we always try to respond as quickly as possible, but sometimes the response takes a little longer because we need data from the logistics operator (for example) and this always takes around 12 to 24 hours.

Cosmetic2go US Customer Experience

When it comes to international shipping to the US we have had a hit or miss experience with Cosmetic2go. When the packages do arrive they have always been the correct products and quantities, however 2 times the packages were either lost in transit or held at customs indefinitely. Now while this isn't the fault of Cosmetic2go trying to get reimbursed for the undelivered packages has been a nightmare we have been able to get one reply from them so far and all they stated was that the package was stuck in customs and that it'd get to us soon which to this day 2 months later it still hasn't showed up. Now when it comes to their shipper of choice TNT (FedEx) they have been very bad with how they handle the packages. Truth be told 7 of about 8 parcels that we ordered had multiple units damaged or bent so when it comes to personal use there is no problem, but when it comes to commercial use I would advise against using Cosmetic2go for these reasons.

TLDR: They offer great items at great prices but filing claims is a nightmare and items arrive damaged (bent, crumpled, useable) 60% of the time. (US BUYER)

I would be more than happy to fix my review if we could work out my problems. Thank You

I had to pay the custom bill on top…

After paying all what I was requested by the website I got an email from the custom that I had to pay more money. I replied I paid everything to the seller, few weeks later a letter with a fine, I had to pay but after this episode no way I am going to buy something from this website ever again!!

a) at checkout there is an alert about the possible payment of customs fees and taxes
b) these fees and taxes are decided locally by the competent authorities in accordance with a series of specifications that in most cases it is not possible to anticipate, so it will always be the recipient of the order who makes any complaint
c) therefore, it is the buyer's responsibility to be fully aware of local customs rules (and these change from country to country) to ensure receipt of the order and know that there may be fees and taxes to pay
