I brought my dog for a regular check, but left with flees and eyes infection shortly after. I didn't like the hygiene standards in there.

My local vet told me my dog had…
My local vet told me my dog had conjunctivitis although showed no signs of it but had all the signs of glaucoma. He told me her swollen eye was down to having Chihuahua in her which she hasn't. Followed cvsvets complaints procedure to the letter, they didn't at all. They have not told the truth I have had conflicting information from a vet that is still there stating he felt the original vet was inexperienced but would support his colleague. They have now refused to take part in mediation which I feel would show thier lies and would result in a favourable outcome for me and my dog...... poor show cvsvets
Avoid Ambivet at Ripley at all costs
Ambivet at Ripley used to be pretty good but today I’m horrified by the total lack of professionalism. The only thing that matters is greed. I took my dog in to have his teeth cleaned & one extracted as their vet recommended in March 23. No one rang me to let me now how he was. When I rang them I was told to collect him at 5pm which I did. They’d taken 7 teeth out, he was barely conscious and when I said I’d take him elsewhere for his follow up appointments, their vet laid into me. Basically it was my fault that she’d had to work through her lunch and that I didn’t have to have his teeth done. Hello, animal welfare. Without doubt, the most unprofessional vet I’ve ever met. Awful place, avoid like the plague because all they want is money.
My dog was referred to Rosemullion vets…
My dog was referred to Rosemullion vets in Falmouth for a CT scan. This cost near on £2,000 and whilst I am insured by a very reputable company, the woman I spoke to explained how difficult it would be for them to electronically send the claim for me even though it would cost me £20 for the privilege. So I paid the full amount only to learn from my insurance company that they still will not respond to my claim electronically. On contacting the practice it appears they have send my claim to Careline, another CVS company who will take two weeks to process it! Sadly my dog may not be here in two weeks and I can do without this extra stress. Please think carefully if you are referred to any CVS vet practice.

Awful regional director....sucked the life from the practice. Got rid of all the staff that worked there for over 20 years. Dont believe what they say. Changes will happen.
Money Grabbers
Is it any wonder there are so many dogs and cats unwanted. Since CVS took over the local vets all they want is your money. All the medication is doubled in price, the vets do virtually nothing for the consultation fee, they also want £18 on top of the consultation fee for a prescription if you want to buy elsewhere via the internet, and if possible always push Blood Tests at £80 a go. While sitting in the waiting room you rarely hear anybody get a bill below £80 -150.
It must be devastating for OAP who rely on there pets for company. In my opinion Vets are just money grabbers and not animal lovers at all. No wonder there are so many animals left suffering because owners cannot afford these exorbitant costs.
Farthings vets Horsham avoid
Farthings vets Horsham which is now a CVS group falsely advertises to give 24 hour care & is run on inexperienced vets. My dog was left at the care of a newly qualified vet who had been employed only 2 months to gain experience on my dog it would seem & had no support from the senior vet, nor any follow up. It’s just a big cover each other’s back practice. They have lied about providing notes to the local 24 hour vets & took 2 months to send me her clinical notes which were extremely brief & missing many details, after 3 months of finally getting a meeting vet was not there because Farthings said they had to protect her mental well being. The vet failed to carry out adequate testing & put my dog deterioration down to an adverse reaction to morphine. My dog was deemed stable to come home & 2 hours later died of sepsis & they expect me still to pay the bill.
Avoid vets who allow this lot to buy them
I am so disappointed that this company is allowed to desecrate decent vet practices. Especially at a time when everyone is struggling, this lot but the vets then put 100% price increase onto the original price. It’s disgusting and should not be allowed. After being overcharged for PTS of 2 rats (£85) I refuse to use that vets ever again. It’s such a shame because the staff were lovely but I am not going to line the pockets of a greedy corporation
Warning and advice
Warning and advice - this company and its staff will lie and write untrue information on your pet’s medical file. I encourage every person with a grievance against them to raise legal action via money claims at the government website. Keep all evidence you can and claim compensation or your costs back. They are extremely unscrupulous.
Our dog was sent to the Earls Hall Vets…
Our dog was sent to the Earls Hall Vets whilst we were on holiday. Presented with diahorrea and wasn't eating well. Not uncommon for a dog who's been put into kennels, but the kennels validly needed assurance.
CVS guilt forced every test in the book from toxicology to MRI, claiming all the way that it was urgent and time bound to test. At each stage, we tried to agree a return to his pack in kennels, and were fought at each point to keep in there further. At one point we were told you are risking your dogs life by removing him from our care.
Nothing wrong with the dog in the end, who returned back to kennels after a 3 day caged stay and a run of negative tests. The kennels were supportive in his return and ensured he recovered quickly.
We were using this vets for years until the CVC takeover. They had a very genuine and balanced approach to everything. But it now just reeks of greed and lack of actual care.

One good vet at our local Pines…
One good vet at our local Pines practice. In the seven years we have spent over £65,000 on vet fees. There was a script that was given to us out of hours (£25 cost) and not paid at the time. We received a demand notice for the £25 the bill was paid immediately. Two weeks later we received a letter saying we are unprofessional and we have been excluded from the practice. The administration is abysmal and when I send a copy of the bank statement they claimed the money had not been received. Why undermine long-stating patients with mostly decent vet care with incompetent management.

Steer clear
since my vets have been taken over by this company and the vet I trusted has left. My dog has been subjected to a procedure by a nurse (I made an appointment with a vet) which totally traumatised him. I am not saying all practices are bad but I am looking for an independent vet who actually cares about animals over profit.
Money grabbing
I started working in a small practice in south/west Wales when it was independently owned. EVERYTHING changed once CVS bought the practice. Very rapidly the overall feel of the practice changed. Staff noticeably very stressed, clients very unhappy with the service they were receiving compared to costs. Prices increased, some more than 10X! The staff treated like numbers, targets to hit and changes to hours meaning a lesser salary or to work more hours for the same salary. This then resulted with a number of staff leaving. The regional manager descends from a purely business background and this you can see clearly. A very arrogant man that poses no actual consideration to real life people and the ability to live on the very low salary that he thinks is acceptable. I will never work for a CVS owned practice again, staying well away and will deter friends from doing so also.
Couldn't care less
Asked for further information from me. No further communication.
Little care for animals and even less for the people who pay the bills.
after dealing with this surgery for…
after dealing with this surgery for multiple pets I had no idea it had been taken over by this huge in my opinion factory conglomerate. from my experiences has no concern about anything else than taking people's insurance money. I have spent tens of thousands of pounds with this organisation and my next door neighbours in one case spent over £10,000 they treat you like you are a number. their attitude in customer service stinks do youur homework before taking your pet to accompany that can only be interested in profits not from my experience animal welfare
I don't want to give any stars
I don't want to give any stars, they are a huge business who have to date bought out 450 vets practice throughout the country, and abroad. There is no real pet care anymore, only targets to meet, and pressure to earn the company money, rewards with new equipment if the practice make loats of money for them, relying on the insurance companies for huge payouts for there unneeded treatments to boost there income, what a state of affairs this has all become, anyway I have been treated very badly, my dog had the wrong operation and was lost on the taable, but after hearing nothing at all for 9 months no tel calls and we have answerphone on all the numbers, no letters I thought they had done the decent thing and not charged for there mistake, well its 9 months since I lost my pet only 4 years of age, and you guessed it a huge bill has come. Don't use EVALUTION VETS IN THORN, they are part of this group, they make many mistakes and there are several more mentioned on social media. My horse vets for repro work are also in this group, but I will not be using them anymore either. Its all about the money not the care, all the cock ups are never the vets fault, but this one was, I have every single visit on tape recording everything that was said to me on my visits there, giving me assurance i had nothing to worry about. but she died from there negligence and doing the wrong operation.
