The attorney assigned to my personal injury case is Michael Grinsfelder. He is the worst attorney in this law firm. I have reached out to him since January 2026 and still have not been able to speak with him or get in contact. I have emailed him monthly and called the firm and I can not get any contact. This has been over a year now and I would tell everyone find another law firm who will be there for you and answer any questions that you have and also one that does not charge 44% of what you earn. They are scammers and do not disclose the percentage until after your about to receive your money for personal injury.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Daspit Law Firm to read the contract carefully before signing. My experience with this firm left me feeling completely uncomfortable, intimidated, and distrustful of their business practices.

I signed an agreement with the firm and, within hours, decided that I did not have confidence in their ability to represent me. I had spoken with Andrew Constanceli and asked what I believed was a fairly general personal injury/property-related question, and he was unable to give me an answer that gave me confidence in moving forward. Based on that interaction and my own instincts, I contacted the firm that same day and told them I wanted to terminate the relationship.

To be clear, this was within hours of signing. They had not worked my case, negotiated my case, investigated my case, or done anything that contributed to the settlement I eventually received through another law firm.

The following day, I received a call from John Daspit. In my experience, the conversation was extremely hostile. He raised his voice, called me a liar, and told me that it was against the law in Texas for me to terminate my agreement with an attorney. I found the conversation intimidating enough that I attempted to record it. Once the call announced that it was being recorded, he ended the call.

What makes this even more disturbing to me is that despite the relationship lasting only a matter of hours and despite my position that the firm performed no substantive work on my case, Daspit later asserted an interest in my settlement.

That is the part I believe every potential client should understand before signing anything with this firm. You may be dealing with an accident, injuries, transportation problems, missed work, financial stress, and a completely disrupted life. The last thing you expect is to later have a law firm you terminated almost immediately attempting to claim money from a settlement they did not help obtain.

I personally consider this behavior extremely greedy and untrustworthy. I do not recommend this firm based on my experience.

I also believe the circumstances surrounding my experience, including the way my termination was handled and the later claim against my settlement, are serious enough that I intend to look into whether they should be reviewed by the State Bar of Texas.

If you are considering this firm, please read every termination and fee provision in the contract before signing and understand exactly what they may attempt to claim if you decide the firm is not the right fit for you.

BEWARE: DASPIT LAW FIRM IS A SCAM!! They promise you the moon and the stars and then ghost you. My experience has been a nightmare and wish I'd read the reviews beforehand. This is my AWFUL experience:

I had an accident on April 28, 2024 and went on to contact them. It took THREE weeks for them to assign me a lawyer and ANOTHER THREE weeks for them to assign me a doctor. At the beginning, I was assigned to Austin Delgado, who did nothing for my case and then disappeared. Ryan Boyer took over and proved to be worse because he didn't even know how to file a claim! I researched him and discovered he used to be a criminal defense attorney with very poor reviews. Looks like he couldn't make it in that area and shifted to accidents. After Boyer, I was assigned to Luke Hartwick, who took all the information related to my accident for the first time!! It felt like I was starting over since he had nothing to reference. Absolutely nothing! How are there no files or notes to reference??!! What have they been doing to my case files all this time??!! I thought Ryan Boyer was the worst, but then came the worst of the worst!! Andrew Conticelli! This guy spent more than a year telling me, "Your case is priority, number one." Upon researching him, I realized he was more concerned about keeping up appearances on social media than his work. And then after a year, he disappeared! Then I was in limbo, with no one overseeing my case. After MORE THAN 60 CALLS, someone finally answered and said I was assigned a new attorney, yet again, Gio De León. Sigh. It has now been MONTHS and cannot get a hold of her. I don't know where my case stands or even if it still stands. They bounce you from attorney to attorney; once one ghosts you/disappears, they assign a new one. And they continue to do this with no resolution to your case. On top of all this, you are going to end up to paying 50% in attorney's fees. They're a SCAM!! This firm is a SCAM!!

Very incompetent firm deals with judges and defense counsel for their own benefits,do not return calls,do not show up at court hearings,do not object at trial,do not want to send release letter,steal from the injured, different attorneys work on case like if was musical chairs with no knowledge of case , ineffective assistance of counsel work with the insurance adjusters,help defendants prevail at trial conspire to steal and work with corporations and attorneys to take disabled and injured persons money this firm should not be practicing law to rob from citizens I hope their out of business as soon as possible,the judicial system in Texas is rigged accompanied by attorneys, judges, Justice's for their own interest demeaning behavior in and out of court room

First of all, as soon as my accident report came out they were calling me. I couldn't even read it yet. I was very busy so I told them I would call them back because they made it seem like I was signing something dealing with the accident report. Just being very deceitful. Few days after when I found out I immediately sent my termination letter. I got new counsel soon after. They still trying to take 44% like y'all did no work so what are you on?

By Portia Johnson. Initially , when I started with Daspit law firm, everything was going really pretty good. And quickly. My appointments were scheduled.I was told to go to doctor's appointment.I was called and told when to go. I did as told they received a $50000.Check six months ago and i've heard nothing from them. They won't answer my calls.They will not answer my emails, they just ignore me.I go to their location and they tell me that they're going to talk to someone and call me back.I'm never received a call back. I was actually offered $13000 check for my personal injury from the insurance company.I was told that just wasn't enough now.I'm being ignored By the firm , I hired to protect me and help me Portia Johnson

It seems Daspit Law's confidence exceeds their capabilities. My experience was marked by entitlement, poor communication, and a disregard for even basic professionalism. I was left in the dark about major developments—like my attorney leaving the firm-and it's still unclear to me what they did to earn over half my settlement.

If Daspit Law considers this caliber of service to be impressive, I'd hate to see what they'd call average. For a firm that invests so much in projecting authority and expertise, the reality was remarkably underwhelming.

Unless you're satisfied with less than mediocre competence, I'd look elsewhere. Just my opinion, of course.

I actually had a real good experience with John and kier! No attorney wanted to take my case but these guys did. If they don’t communicate, it’s because they have no updates. I went a year without hearing from them, doesn’t mean they’re not working. After my surgery, they took care of me financially and still got a good settlement.

My experience with this law firm was a complete disaster from start to finish. After my car accident, I was looking for a team to help me through a difficult time, but instead, I was met with unprofessionalism and a shocking lack of communication.

From the beginning, I felt like my case was just one of many, and not a priority. My calls and emails went unanswered for weeks at a time, and when I finally did get a response, it was from a different person every time. It was clear that my file was just being passed around, and no one was actually taking the time to understand the specifics of my situation.

The most frustrating part was the utter lack of progress. Months went by with no updates. When I demanded to know what was happening, I was met with vague excuses and conflicting information. It felt like they were just stalling, and I had no faith that they were actually working to get me the compensation I deserved.

Ultimately, I decided to fire the firm and find new representation. The process was messy, and they were uncooperative in handing over my case files. I truly believe that their incompetence and negligence cost me valuable time and money. I would strongly advise anyone seeking legal help for a vehicle accident to avoid this firm at all costs.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Terrible firm. They DO NOT care about the client . They never pick up the phone when you call and when they do which is almost never they lie to you every step of the way. Its impractical and unlawful to treat people like this. They need to reported to the BBB and you need to file a grievance with the BAR. Run and avoid this firm at all costs

I am writing to seek clarification regarding an email I received today, which has left me quite confused about the status of my account and any potential charges.
As you are aware, I initially retained your firm but later decided to terminate our agreement due to concerns about potential conflicts with another firm I was considering. I had communicated my intention to terminate prior to any charges incurring, and I was under the impression that no attorney had been assigned due to the holiday weekend.
However, shortly after my conversation with an attorney from your firm, I received a letter indicating that an attorney had been assigned. I promptly responded to inform you of my decision to terminate the relationship, as I believed it was in my best interest before any work commenced.
The recent email I received suggested that I may be liable for charges related to the assignment of an attorney and other services, despite my understanding that the consultation was complimentary and that no formal work was undertaken. This has raised several questions in my mind: What specific services were provided if no attorney was officially assigned to my case?
Additionally, the tone of your email suggested frustration regarding my decision to terminate our relationship, which I find perplexing given that I communicated my concerns clearly before proceeding.
I would appreciate your prompt clarification on these matters to help resolve my confusion and ensure that we have a mutual understanding. Thank you for your attention to this situation.

They are terrible. Go to another firm, they are scammers. I’m still waiting for my settlement for a year and a half. I’m reading these reviews and it seems that they will take whatever they recoup from the insurance company. Do your research first so you won’t end up like me. They will be taking about 50 % of 30,000. Then I have to pay for my medical out of my portion

I honestly wish I could give this law firm a -0. After my accident I contacted this firm n was set up with a lawyer, after signing the contract I didn’t hear anything for a couple months or so. So I took it upon myself to reach out to them. I got in touch with an assistant that told me my case was being handled by someone different. Remind you nobody contacted me n told me this. So after this person who took over my case contacted me. She explained to me that whomever was handling my case didn’t have all the documents. So after getting all said documents. We finally get an offer from the insurance company. Which was refused by my lawyer after contacting me. After no communication for about 2 months i reached back out to my lawyer and ask them what’s the hold med up for the counter off. She tells me that the individual who caused the accident can not be found so they had to do something like sue his current insurance provider. This was 4 months ago. Since that day I’ve called, texted n call n texted and still yet I’ve yet to hear back from these people. These people do not care about you n whatever you got going. My wife was involved in an accident and hired Thomas law firm n her case went total different n had a great experience. I’m thinking very hard about fire this company and hiring someone else to represent me because this is getting ridiculous n I wish I never hired these people. They suck!!!!

I specifically asked this firm if they were helping with the 3M lawsuit, they told me yes. However, after receiving a welcome email, I have not heard back from this firm, even after sending numerous emails, calls, and leaving numerous messages, and I've never once been contacted back. I wouldn't use this law firm if they were the last one on earth. Take heed and do not waste your time!

The are horrible!!! Very slow, they don’t commumicate!! I took them over a year to settle my case. It took another two months to get a check from them they charged me 44%

I definitely would never recommend this firm. This is my first time dealing with these guys and I can promise you it will be my last. The communication is horrible. They tell you different things. I’m contacting the bar association today.

In August 2023, my mother recommended this law firm. Though she referred me to her lawyer, I was assigned Gary Saunders, who helped me find treatment for my injuries. By November, after a month of unreturned calls and emails, I was informed Gary had left the firm, but no one had notified his clients. I was then assigned William Morrison, who stopped responding after our first call.

After completing my treatment, I was assured all necessary documents were submitted to my lawyer, but I couldn’t reach William. I was directed to his paralegal, Trish, who claimed they were missing medical bills from my physical therapist, despite him insisting they had already been sent. After resubmitting the documents, I was told everything was in order, and my deposition was scheduled for February.

When I followed up for a specific date in early February, I got no response. Frustrated, I reached out again and was told they were still waiting on documents that had already been confirmed in December. This constant back-and-forth and lack of communication became overwhelming. Eventually, they scheduled my deposition for May 2024, but even then, I faced issues like missing Zoom links and late responses. The deposition was handled well by someone else, but after that, I heard nothing.

By June, I still had no updates, and my mother, who originally referred me, regretted doing so. As of October 2024, the same problems persist. Despite numerous attempts to contact the firm, I’m still being told I’m missing documents that were confirmed received last year. This firm received payment from my insurance in September but continues to ignore my calls. Their lack of communication and compassion is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this law firm to anyone.

Zero stars should be an option.
Don't trust Google reviews. They are manipulated and I have proof. I have personally talked to people who have left negative reviews that magically disappeared giving them a perfect 5 stars again. If you don't believe me, look at Yelp. That is where the truth really is. They can't get those ones taken down.
If you are already a victim, PLEASE file a grievance with the Texas Bar Association. Post your honest Google reviews. As long as you are telling the truth, they can't do anything to you, even though they may try and bully you or bribe (I have proof of that too).
