Beware of this online store! Prior to placing my order, I reached out to the live chat customer service assistant who was very forthcoming, and he advised that my order would be delivered within the standard time outlined on the delivery page. Despite following with them almost daily for almost a month for delivery status, I was directed to a colleague who emailed me from a “hotmail” account and subsequently informed that there were actually stocking issues with my door and I was offered a full refund which I accepted. It’s been a nightmare getting this refund which has been particularly frustrating because the delayed door already cost our home renovation and it means we’ve had no front door for a prolonged period of time. The live chat help has acknowledged that he cannot help with this and so I need to liaise directly with his colleagues on email, however they’ve been incredibly unhelpful and fully unresponsive.

speedy service, kept informed. However... I only had a few hours notice of delivery. The e-mail came through on a tuesday afternoon, about a 7.30 - 10.30 am delivery slot the next day and I didn't have time to change work plans and work from home. They still delivered and popped it in my garage but it felt a bit risky to leave an expensive door exposed. \

Great product range, great website, very informative, easy to order from.

I ordered a single door and cancelled my order within 15 minutes because of lack of information on door sizes. I Emailed text and chat box cancellations within the 24 hour period but they class a full refund minus £6.46 transaction fee which isn’t clear on their ordering process.
I feel I’ve been duped!!!

Check Howden's catalogue, DavesDoors are a middleman operation who are apalling at comms for that reason if no other. Great mark-up tho

*Caveat - Oak To Be or Oak Not To Be

Less than 2 years ago I had one of Dave’s beautiful “Oak Glazed Stable Doors” installed as advertised.
The carpenter/installer covered the door in 2 coats of Osmo UV Protection Oil similar to our large Oak Garage doors, including ends protection.

Less than two years later the surface on the upper door is beginning to “pop” and break up as it seems the “oak” is in fact oak laminate (I would list pic if I could).
In my “naivety” I truly believed I was buying an oak door.
However, on examination of the website, if you dig deep into the small print this is not the case and I should have used Sikkens rather than Osmo as Osmo can only be used on Oak, and, if you dig deep into Dave’s fine print Osmo is “not recommended”
Soooo … due to my “naivety” any warranty appears scuppered so looks like I’m in for a new £600 replacement oak stable door …

If you like your glazing with obvious manufacturing faults, this is your place to shop. No time or effort has been wasted checking the quality of the product prior to shipping. As a bonus, if you try and contact them about it, they won’t waste any of their time trying to resolve it! Come on down to Dave’s Doors, and have your pants pulled right down…

The basic door has been good. Unfortunately, the items I bought from the firm for installing the door: >large storm board for the outside – split in 2 days. Remedied it myself by using hardwood dowels.
>sash lock – seized up in 5 days and the replacement sent by the company was too small for the opening created by the joiner, so I bought my own branded quality lock
>rubber gaskets lining the frame were far too small and the rubber gasket at the bottom of the frame to stop water coming in fell out within a few days of installation. I had to remedy it myself with an oak bar.

Good price, well made and packaged, good communication and looks great after treatment.

DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE.
They have no way of contacting them. They do not reply to emails, phone calls or the love chat on website.
I tried to cancel my order via email, after not being able to contact them regarding delivery and a query I had not being answered. I then received a notification from a courier company a few days later saying that they had just received information to deliver. I've managed to cancel the delivery to not waste anyone's time. Not heard anything from Dave's doors and have had to seek out chargebacks from credit card on the transaction due to no contact availability. If for any reason they had delivered and there was an issue with the product I would imagine you'd be lost for any kind of replacement or refund. Avoid at all costs

Finally a door company that feels human. I have bought a number of doors over the years and generally always feel like another sales target. Daves Doors full service is clearly laid out on the website, with humans available on chat or email until you’re ready to chat in person. Perfect.

After purchasing our door we noticed deterioration after a couple months
We contacted Daves Door and it took them 5 MONTHS to reply to tell us we had used the wrong sealant........in case you're wondering this information about sealants is on the FAQ of their website, not obvious instructions.
If they had replied to our emails in a timely fashion the door would have been salvageable. It is now beyond repair.
To top it all the handle sheered off on the inside today, also purchased from Daves Doors for over £200.
Don't waste your time or money here

We bought a stable door from Daves, and was really pleased with it, as was the carpenter when he fitted it.

A nice hard wood, lovely design and well packaged.
