Garage door key was snapped off in the lock by a relative. Called Dawes doors the day after it happened. Engineer was sent out that day.....great!

That's about as good as it gets. 28.95 non-refundable call out fee (no harm yet) engineer described the issue, happy with this.

Engineer then hung around before he left and asked twice if we'd paid the deposit. Can be seen as being intimidating to some. Once paid, he was happy and mentioned how much the cost would be. Ok absolutely fine. 3 weeks later (after the promise of the part being ordered that week and 5 working days for it to arrive) we are still waiting and have had to chase them up several times.

Spoke to their head office. Prompt reply but got absolutely nowhere.

AWFUL! I would give no stars if I could. I should have cancelled the call out, it felt wrong from the first phone call. Customer service from booking it in to an engineer arriving to the quote with the most patronising man Philip was the worst I have ever experienced. I would not recommend. They make their money from the call out charge, send an engineer who doesn’t have the correct equipment/ skills so they can’t do the job and then quote a ridiculous amount. 1 hr later another company with better service fixed the job in less than 10mins and charged reasonably for something they could actually do. You’re just money grabbing poorly skilled tradesman and making a business out of it which should be stopped

No clear time for call out, explained my limited availability and gave times I was not available. Told a call would be made and an hours notice given. Tried calling to check status of call out and after 3 separate attempts of being on hold called from a different number and was answered immediately, call blocking being used on the number you originally call from. Asked the status of call out and James very unhelpfully explained the 1 hour notice and I reiterated my availability was now within that one hour window and why I was starting to panic. No clear customer care and no urgency. Business practices like number blocking are very suspicious and clearly an attempt to avoid customer complaints.

Can’t fault this company for prompt visit and choice of time slots. HOWEVER the quotation is not free. £30 just for call out which is taken off of you go ahead with work. The guy who came out was great - polite and knowledgeable. He does not give you the price. This is done by a call centre a few minutes later. Outrageously high price for a repair. £468! I refused the price and had to pay £30 anyway. Had a local repair firm out an hour later - £60. Garage door now working fine. Buyer beware

J the engineer was polite efficient and very professional completed the job fixed the garage door on the same day. I would highly recommend J and the company.

Good communication, good technical repair. Very pleased.

An authorised Hoffman dealer did it for £163 plus parts for the same springs

Quick to come out and assess what needed to be done and supplied a same day quote for work needed.

Promptly arrived. The guy will not give a price. Has to contact office. They come back 10 minutes later with a ridiculously high quote.. I had the same problem 2 yrs ago. 95 pound to fix. Price today 200. No thanks have a local company tomorrow. Between 95 and 125 pounds

Do not use this company. They are not Dawes Doors but Wudhus Ltd and they charge over 3 times the going rate. £594 for 20 minute job to replace snapped wire, rusted spindles and retention a garage door. Since found out this should be circa £150. There are other 1star reviews saying the same. They didn’t respond to my complaint.

Arrived quite quickly. Worked non stop repairing garage door. Friendly chap.

The garage door was expertly re-programmed and checked in about 20 minutes. The resultant cost was £90.

Called at 11.45 fitter arrived around 2.15 did an adjustment on the garage door that was faulty very pleasant man explained what was wrong and what needed fixing here about an hour job done ,we were really impressed with the quick service and would definitely recommend most highly.

Arrived on time very polite engineer new his job gave sound advice took time to explain options never pushed into any work needed quite happy with call out fee very reasonable for time spent thanks to all concerned much appreciated by two eighty six year olds

Great job, guy was really friendly and got the garage doors fixed in an hour. They attended in <24hrs after my initial contact and kept me updated throughout.
