I had my solar panels and battery storage system installed by DCL Renewables in April 2026, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.

From the initial consultation through to installation and aftercare, the whole process was professional and well organised. Akhil ensured that the inverter, batteries and solar panels were delivered a day before the installation, which helped everything run smoothly.

The installation team, led by Florin and Jonny, arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed everything to a very high standard. Everything was left neat and tidy, with excellent attention to detail.

DCL also handled the DNO approval, MCS certification and all the necessary paperwork. I received all the required documentation for export within a week of installation, which made the whole process stress-free.

What I particularly appreciated was the follow-up support from Akhil after the installation. He contacted me a few weeks later to check that the system was working well, that I was receiving my export payments and that I was happy with everything.

Since installation, the system has performed exceptionally well. The solar panels and battery have exceeded my expectations, helping to significantly reduce my electricity costs while maximising my solar generation and export.

I don’t often leave reviews, but I felt DCL Renewables genuinely deserved one.

My system was installed in December 2025 and consisted of 18 in-roof solar panels, an 8.4kW inverter, 20kWh of battery storage and an integrated EV charger.

Because I chose an in-roof system, where the roof tiles are removed and the panels are integrated into the roof itself, the installation was considerably more complex than a standard solar installation. And, to be completely transparent, not everything went smoothly.

Some of the roofing work was carried out by a subcontractor, and I had concerns about the way part of the in-roof system and flashing had been installed. I actually contacted the manufacturer of the mounting system myself for an independent opinion, and they confirmed that my concerns were justified.

This is where DCL really impressed me.

Once I raised the issue, they didn’t try to dismiss it or pass responsibility onto with the subcontractor. They worked tirelessly with the subcontractor to make sure the installation was put right before everything was finally signed off.

Since then, there have been a few other teething problems. I experienced several occasions where the EV charger failed to automatically start overnight when scheduled to take advantage of my cheap-rate Octopus electricity.

DCL worked with me through software updates, testing and troubleshooting, and the reliability has now improved considerably to the point where I believe the issue has been resolved.

There was also a manufacturer recall of the Sigenergy inverter. DCL dealt with that promptly, obtained the manufacturer-approved replacement and came out to swap the inverter with absolutely no fuss.

Another issue involved the panels installed on my flat roof. During the sales process I had been advised that bird protection wouldn’t be necessary because the gap beneath the panels was supposedly too small for pigeons to get underneath. Unfortunately, experience proved otherwise! I ended up with several nests beneath the panels and a considerable amount of bird mess, which I had to clean up.

Again, when I challenged DCL about it, they responded positively and came back to rectify the problem as part of their warranty/workmanship commitment.

And that really sums up why I’m giving DCL Renewables five stars.

It isn’t because the entire experience was plain sailing – because, in all honesty, it wasn’t. It’s because of the way they navigated the rough seas.

With something as complicated as a solar, battery and EV charging installation, problems and unforeseen issues can happen. For me, the real test of a company isn’t whether they can claim that nothing ever goes wrong. It’s what they do when something does go wrong.

Every time I have raised a genuine concern, DCL have dealt with it professionally, courteously and, most importantly, actually put it right. They have stood behind the installation rather than disappearing once they had been paid.

I also want to give a particular mention to Florin, DCL’s Chief Technical Engineer. His technical knowledge is exceptional and he has been a genuine pleasure to deal with. There have certainly been occasions when I’ve challenged him quite strongly because I wasn’t happy about something, but he has always remained calm, courteous and professional – and then concentrated on actually solving the problem.

He has responded to my WhatsApp messages, sometimes even outside normal working hours, has always come back to me when promised and, ultimately, has made sure the issues were sorted. He is an absolute credit to DCL Renewables.

Finally, there’s the most important question with any solar installation: does it actually deliver?

Since the system was installed in December, I have already received £540.56 from exporting surplus electricity back to Octopus Energy on my current tariff. That is, of course, in addition to the savings I’m making by generating and using my own electricity and making use of the battery system.

So, despite the challenges along the way, I remain extremely pleased with the system and with DCL Renewables.

Five stars – not because everything was perfect, but because when things weren’t perfect, DCL stood behind their work and made them right. For me, that’s exactly the sort of company you want installing and supporting a system that you expect to have on your home for many years to come.

I recently used DCL Renewables for a rooftop solar and Tesla Powerwall installation, and the entire experience was absolutely fab. What really blew me away was that they managed to complete the entire installation in just one day without compromising on quality!

I want to give a special shoutout to Akhil and Florin for making this such a great experience. Akhil handled the sales side of things and was brilliant—he was informative, honest, and made the quoting and planning process completely seamless and stress-free.

Florin acted as both the project manager and lead installer. He was a superstar on the day of the installation. He ran the project incredibly efficiently, kept me in the loop, and ensured the workmanship was top-notch. The system looks incredibly neat and is already running perfectly.

Florin is definitely the man for the job. Professional and totally efficient and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

Florin and his team did a great job installing 16 x Aiko 475w panels, 27kw sigenergy battery, 12kw single phase inverter and Gateway last christmas. The installation took a couple of day.
Florin explained each and every step during the install. I didnt get any problems. Florin called me to advise my inverter needs to replace due to upgrades made. He came and sorted this on Thursday 20th without any hickups. I highly recommend Florin and his team. Top guy.

Choosing DCL Renewables for my solar project was the best decision I could have made. They set a gold standard for trade installations by being efficient, honest, and incredibly neat. I had a full system put in, consisting of 16 solar panels, a Tesla Powerwall 3, and an Eddi hot water diverter to catch our surplus energy. Right from the start, their behind-the-scenes operation was flawless. A massive team of coordinators kept things moving smoothly through pricing, site surveys, and grid paperwork. The timeline was incredibly impressive.

Delivery to installation: Just 2 weeks (delayed only by necessary DNO paperwork, which they chased up for me).

The actual physical installation is spotless. It is completely clutter-free with all cabling neatly hidden away. A huge shoutout to Gary, who walked me through the entire layout before mounting anything. He meticulously helped map out the component placement so that adding more gear in the future will be completely hassle-free. The crew's professionalism under pressure was spectacular. They had to handle the Eddi plumbing up in a stifling loft during a massive heatwave, yet they stayed polite, focused, and pleasant throughout the entire ordeal. After dealing with several solar companies who used aggressive, high-pressure sales tactics, DCL’s transparent pricing and relaxed approach was incredibly refreshing. They made a massive home upgrade entirely stress-free. I will certainly be returning to them for future work.

I've recently had a Sigenergy battery+inverter and 12 solar panels installed. Florin and the entire team were very supportive with all the system design and layout to maximize roof space and system output. They went beyond their way to accommodate my requests and provided detailed explanations for the installation process throughout the entire day of install. Everything was installed in a tidy way and they cleaned everything to leave things nice and tidy. Overall it's been an extremely positive experience and I'm happy with my choice.

After nearly 2 months calling around and getting quotes and surveys,we decided to go with DCL Renewables as being local to us and also when Toma came round to do the survey he got his remote control drone out and done a full birds eye view with correct measurements using the software on his laptop.
We sat down and talked through everything and Toma understood straight away what we wanted plus we just clicked when we were talking also the price was good,we got a south facing garden with a loft extension and outbuildings, the only option was to install on all our flat roof spaces,we managed to get 20 panels on as we wanted to maximise all our space,we had a 10 kw inverter and 2x 9.04kw batteries and a full house backup system with Sigenergy (in the process of ordering another 9.04kw battery) the max output worked out just under 10kwh which is brilliant.
All the team where brilliant and the work was done to a high standard plus they handled all the paperwork.
