I live in the UK. After my Porsche Macan S was stolen in December 2024, I purchased a second-hand Toyota RAV4 Excel. Soon after that, I bought a Disklok (small size), which fitted over the steering wheel and its protector. Last Monday morning (31st August 2026) I received a phonecall from the police, saying that my car was blocking someone's drive. I looked outside and my car was gone. The thief had managed to reverse the car out into the road and turn the steering wheel, but then abandoned the car 200 yards (183 metres) further up my road, half on the pavement. I guess the thief realised that they would find it too difficult to continue driving further - so good news: I got my car back !

Solid Peace of Mind After a Loss — Highly Recommend Disklok!
Having had my previous Land Cruiser stolen, security for my new one was my top priority. After researching the best physical deterrents on the market, I decided to purchase a Disklok.
Because of high demand, the item was initially on backorder. However, the Disklok Canada customer service team was exceptionally thoughtful and understanding. They kept me informed throughout the delay and even offered a 20% discount for the inconvenience, which was a class act.
When the device arrived and I got it in my hands, the boost in confidence was immediate. I no longer have to constantly stress about whether my new Land Cruiser will still be in the driveway in the morning.
A few practical observations after using it:
Weight & Handling: The lock is undeniably heavy and feels solid. It takes a short learning curve to handle it comfortably, but once you get the motion down, installing and removing it becomes quick second nature.
Pro Tip for Installation: Because of its weight and bulk, be mindful when swinging it into place so you don't accidentally knock your windshield or side windows.
Must-Have Accessories: I strongly recommend picking up the steering wheel cover and the carrying bag. The cover prevents any potential scuffs on your leather steering wheel, and the bag keeps the heavy lock secure and tidy when driving.
Bottom Line: Overall, the Disklok is a serious visual and physical deterrent. It looks extremely intimidating to potential thieves through the window, which is exactly what you want. It's well worth every penny for the total peace of mind it gives me.

Product doesn’t work as advertised.
The product disklok moves the steering wheel as well when the engine is on. This means a thief can simply drive the vehicle to a location and cut the lock off.
As claimed by disklok, the lock does not spin freely when the engine is on. It only spins freely when the engine is off and the vehicle steering lock is engaged.

We’re sorry the product did not meet your expectations, but the test described does not demonstrate that the Disklok has failed.
The Disklok is designed to be fitted while the vehicle is parked, with the engine off and the steering lock engaged. As your review confirms, under those conditions its outer shell rotates independently, preventing the steering wheel from being gripped and operated normally.
Power-assisted steering may move the wheel beneath the Disklok once the engine is running, but the large steel enclosure remains attached and severely obstructs safe steering. A thief cannot “simply drive away” as though the lock were not there, they would still need to physically defeat and remove it.
We remain available to review a video of your installation and confirm that the correct size and fitting procedure were used.

Customer Service of disklok Canada is pathetic. This lock is not fit for RAV4 LE 2026. The steering wheel can still rotate significantly with the lock as handle is small. A thief could easily drive the vehicle away with the lock attached. I returned the device but ended up paying both ways shipping cost approx $58.I escalated to CEO but he was not willing to listen my version of story.

We strongly disagree with this review.
Disklok does fit the Toyota RAV4 LE 2026. This has been confirmed by multiple customers with the same vehicle model.
When you claimed that the steering wheel could still “rotate significantly” with the Disklok installed, we asked you to provide a short video showing the issue so we could properly review and verify your claim. You refused to provide this evidence.
You then chose to return the product. As clearly stated in our return policy, shipping costs are not refundable unless the return is due to an error on our end. Since no verified product defect, fitment issue, or company error was demonstrated, the original and return shipping costs were not refunded.
We take customer concerns seriously, but we cannot accept unsupported claims as fact when the customer refuses to provide the simple evidence requested to investigate the matter.
The high quality I was expecting.

The product works great
The product works great. I can sleep again at night. My airbag system was stolen from my Honda Civic 2018. This product is easy to use and covers the steering wheel very securely.
I did not have to wait too long (about a week) for delivery.
