Horrendously expensive
Horrendously expensive! The guys were here for three and a half hours in total to remedy a blocked external drain. They fixed the problem but charged over £1100. That's over £300 an hour - nice work if you can get it.

I’m sorry to read your review. We genuinely welcome both positive and negative feedback, but we feel it’s important that the full circumstances are clear.
You initially contacted us to investigate a blocked drain. Our rates are always explained on the phone and then confirmed on site before any work is carried out.
Once on site, it was evident that the drain was affected by a large fatberg, heavy scale build‑up throughout the pipework, and some root intrusion. We provided a fixed cost for the complete works and did not charge for the initial investigation. This fixed price was explained in full, and you agreed to proceed.
Our policy is that once the initial investigation/clearance is completed, any further work is always carried out on a fixed-cost basis so customers know exactly what they will pay. If at any stage you were unsure or unhappy with the cost, you were under no obligation to proceed. You were free to take time to consider, speak with family members, or obtain alternative quotes, but you instructed us to go ahead with the works.
With regard to the suggestion that we earned “£300 an hour”, this does not reflect how our pricing works. We have not increased our charges for eight years, despite significant increases in operating costs. Like all businesses, we must cover a wide range of overheads —20% VAT, including staff wages, vehicles, insurance, fuel, equipment, materials, office and software costs, and more — which means the amount you see on an invoice does not translate directly into hourly profit.
We are sorry that you feel disappointed, but we are confident that our charges were made clear, agreed in advance, and reflect the work required to resolve the problem.

I’m sorry to read your review. We welcome both positive and negative feedback, but it’s important that the full circumstances are clear.
We first attended on 8 May to clear a blocked toilet. It was immediately apparent that the toilet needed to be removed, which a plumber then did so that we could return on 14 May. On our return visit, our engineer again attempted to clear the blockage using both high-pressure jetting and a CCTV camera inspection.
The CCTV footage showed heavy scaling throughout the stack, which had significantly reduced the internal diameter of the pipework and was preventing the toilet from draining correctly. We therefore provided you with a fixed-price quotation to remove and descale the affected drains, which we then sent to you by email. You replied confirming, “Please go ahead.”
You were under no obligation or pressure to accept this quote, and you were free to take more time to consider or obtain alternative estimates.
We appreciate that £3,300 is a substantial amount of money, but this charge was not simply for a “drain clearance”. It covered the additional remedial works required to properly clear and restore the system.

Rich & the team at drain division were very thorough, respectful and polite. After completing the initial investigation, they presented a number of options and explained what was required and why. They kept me updated throughout and even helped me clear the area beforehand, which was an oversight on my part but was very much appreciated. Wouldn't hesitate to use again in future.

Excellent service Louie arrived within the time slot given with a phone call 30 mins before very helpful and explained what was happening during the job to unblock a soil pipe with all prices stated before work started very good price another company drain doctor attended day before and quoted double the price. Professional and Efficient
I have had a problem for years with the sewer drain as it is pitch fibre. I phoned the company on Monday pm and sent them a copy of the camera footage from another company. I was called back next morning and arranged an inspection for the next day. It was carried out and the problems fully explained . They contacted the office who provided a quote which I accepted and to my surprise were able to carry out the work straight away . Fantastic service and the work was carried out very professionally and efficiently. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and cannot thank the guys who carried out the work enough.
