Gabe is the best teacher I've come across. He breaks things down into simple bite sized pieces, allowing you to fully digest the concepts. The quality of the lessons are outstanding and he interacts/ responds to every comment! Always extremely helpful. Definitely the best investment I've made in a long time!

Drum Beats Online is an amazing platform. Gabe has created a very clear and easy to follow system from drummers to develop their craft! Whether you are picking up sticks for the first time, or are an experienced drummer looking to refine your talent, DBO is the way to go! There is no stone left unturned, and Gabe is there to personally respond to and help each and every member!

I was playing for about a year with no lesson, and I was pretty beginner, played fast and sloppy but thought i was good, and i started watching drum beats online on youtube, so i was like "oh, this seems like a good teacher" so i signed up, and i got it half a year later(by that time i hadn't made any progress, and i was kinda at a stopping point) and already off the bat almost a month in and im already making so much more progress, i can play a lot more cleaner now, i make better drumming videos, because whats cool about DBO is that it isn't ALL drumming lessons, like gabe has a course on making better drumming videos, getting endorsements, tips for touring etc. And he actually got me into I Prevail which is one of my favorite bands, overall i think joining DBO academy was my best move as a drummer so far ( I mean besides getting drums)

4 months in DBO Academy.

Pros
1) I learned some nice and easy beats/fills.
2) Sheet music for every lesson helps me to understand patterns.
3) High quality videos and normal explanation of movements.

Cons
1) I didn't find info about double bass tips: swivel, flat foot, ankle motion...
2) I am interested in punk/hardcore style and in DBO I didn't find a new hooks for my style.

Joining DBO Academy was one of the best choices I could have made to jump start my drumming journey. It’s fairly priced especially compared to in person lessons. The courses are well designed and structured to help you grow step by step. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who has ever wanted to start drumming.

I love the site. So, I saw drum beats online on YouTube with their free videos and I had learned so much just from the 20 simple rock fills. The fact that have will talk about, show you at a normal tempo and then break it down and slow it down so that following along isn't impossible is just amazing. When I got to join I jumped on it immediately.

Once there it was easy to navigate the site. Starting was great since the videos you wanted/ needed came one after the other rather than trying to hunt all over for what you thought was the next step.

Also, having the positive support from both Gabe and other students can really set yourself at ease and want to continue. I've learned a lot and can't wait to learn more.

Hi I'm delighted I joined DBO i was doubtful at the start to join and have no regrets now Gabe Helguera is an extremely talented man he's skill extraordinarily and I think he takes drumming a new level hes way of teaching is brilliant breaks down beats and fills so easily and you can understand what's he is playing the videos are super helpful and the practice along are the best if anyone is think of joining go for it you wont regret it

Gave, you’ve done an incredible job creating DBO. The platform is easy to work, and the separation between skill levels is so incredible!

I was uninspired to play drums and would often skip playing. Because I had no structure at all.
After I joined DBO Academy I went from 10 minutes of practice to 30 to an hour.

Fantastic website. I prefer DBO over other lesson sites like Drumeo any day. Same variety of content, but I feel DBO has better advantages and is easier to use. I've only been on here for a week but with the amount of lessons I did, I feel more confident than I did. I learned so many good warm-ups to practice, new fills, etc. Join if you're thinking about it!

My Experience With The DBO Academy is AWESOME!

Hi. I love taking lessons this way. I’m just not sure since I’m doing the beginner lessons I switch back-and-forth from different beginner lessons. Should I do this or just stay with each lesson until I feel like almost mastered it?

DBO academy is more than just online lessons, its a family. I started my drumming journey 9 months ago with absolutely zero experience. Since then I have grown from a beginner to an intermediate drummer and feel so much more comfortable behind the kit. Gabe is an incredible drummer, and an even more incredible human being. He really makes all of us here at DBO feel at home.
