parking company kept sending threating letters for non payment of fine for a car i did not own or a name that was not mine because i though someone someone had registered a car in my address contacted dvla told them situation they said the car is not redistered in my address and more or less said it is a mistake by the parking company they also sent me a letter to show the parking company so all i can say it was 5 star service thank you
Useless government sysem
My wife had a reminder to apply for her 70 licence. She opted for 'on line' completion. It would not authenticate her identity on the Gov portal or on her driving licence details. The system said that her authentication had failed and to click below to opt for the old system as this one was new. She clicked and a terminal error came up. She reverted to paper. Who programs this complete rubbish system?

Applied for the reduced rate of car tax as I have a blue badge didn’t know it was available so filled in a V10 ,sent my V5and all my PIP award documents requesting for it to be backdated, only received one year and not 3 so called and so very unhelpful staff told me that I have to send V5 V10 and PIP award back again why they hadn’t taken into account was that over the last 2 years I have had 3 cars but all with the same registration no now waiting for them to come back,my car tax is due on 01/03/26 called again and I have to send all the documents back again in the post with a cheque or postal order to cover the reduced rate tax . What I want to know is why documents aren’t scanned on the system in this day and age and why I keep having to send them each time I contact them, if my documents aren’t back in time for my renewal I have to send everything back again, have the most well travel car documents in the uk. DVLA please join the 21 st century,really a cheque or postal order in this day and age , my bank was flabbergasted as am I

Just about to lose my job as they have had my CLEAN MEDICAL HGV renewal form since 21-11-25 & have still not issued me my license back. The DVLA are utter A Holes, went online to retain my plate prior to selling my car and it bombed saying i had to do it on paper! Mint, so the timescale just jumped from 30 seconds to possibly a month when i have a guy waiting to buy the car!!! Its been over 2 weeks now and nothing, cant even speak to registrations as they “are not customer facing” course you cant! I bet they cashed the postal order the day they got it, but the 30 seconds it must take to swap it back to the original reg… lets take a month on that! Car iv owned for 2 years, plate i bought from the effing DVLA and have to continue paying them when i want to keep it, what checks need doing?? Utter crap they cause nothing but problems never solutions and give you generic responses from google when you call! Like any other government outfit… money money MONEY
Useless Online Application!
The Login App to prove identity DOES NOT WORK. Trying to renew my Driving Licence online is a total FAILURE! Another totally incompetent Government Service! The document ID check does not work. Holding iPhone steady, right distance, dark background, in focus, but refuses to scan. USELESS! Have to apply the old fashion way, through the form and post.
False information
Applied to renew Vehicle Tax on DVLA website, entered correct C Card details but was told my payment had failed. Tried to apply again, web-site message says my vehicle has been taken off the road in the last 5 days.
Searched site - says my vehicle has been taxed? Checked credit card web-site - payment has been taken. Something wrong here.
Renew by post not on line!!
I just wanted to renew my licence (over 70).. I should have done it by post. So complicated on line and had to set up an account etc. and download an app .. Took me best part of an hour. I am quite computer savvy but awful experience. Not sure I have completed it properly and telling me it will be a digital licence! and expires on a different month... Older retired people will have difficulty. Do it by post!

Utterly atrocious organisation, I had the misfortune of speaking with an imbecile masqurading as a customer service representitive, who clearly did not understand the very complex action of "Listining", she would not let me speak, or talked over me, and then simply hung up on me, it is time we got back to OUR GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS working for the benefit of the British public instead of trying to navigate ways on how they can extract more money from us -NOTHING IN THIS COUNTRY WORKS ANYMORE

The DVLA appear to be in chaos and new govt instructions have not helped as they simply do not respond. As an over 70 I have received the letter for a compulsory eye test which i have attended. The letter sent to me is in the 2020 format which still bangs on about COVID. It really needs to be updated. Moreover, I am still waiting for my 3 year licence to be renewed. This was due in Nov 2025. I have complained about this and though I have a claim number, there is no response from the DVLA. In fact they make it difficult to contact them. The phone number provided is always busy.

When will this website start taking these scammers and bots seriously instead of letting them book tests before real people?

Tried several times. Gave up and went to the local post office and it went smoothly. Thanks to the lady at the Post Office in Abbeyview Dunfermline for your polite, efficient , friendly and helpful service.
DVLA: ruining lives with impunity
After a brief loss of memory (I was NOT unconscious) I surrendered my licence to the DVLA, ceased driving and was seen by a neurologist. After scans and tests the diagnosis was transient epileptic amnesia and I was declared fit to drive if I went a year without another episode (of memory loss). The episode was on 13 September 2024. I applied for the return of my licence for 13 September 2025. Four months on, nothing heard. I call, I write, I complain to the Secretary for Transport, Heidi ALEXANDER, and my MP, Damian HINDS. Ms Alexander is 'extremely busy' and does not reply to non-constituents. Mr Hinds kindly wrote to the new Chief Executive of the DVLA, a Mr MOSS, - but nothing has been heard. I made a subject access request of the DVLA - the response shows they have not even considered, much less decided, the return of my licence. The response also shows they have recorded inaccurate information about me: I requested the erroneous information be corrected - per GDPR. They refused! (Remember the Post Office scandal?) The reviews you see here show the DVLA is at least manifestly incompetent, ruining lives with impunity. Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander needs to be removed from the role as a matter of urgency. It appears Mr Moss has already left - I think I should apply for his job; I'll have to work from home, I work a three hour week (unless golf interrupts), and I ignore correspondence - a marked improvement!
