EdEx - Education Recruitment Reviews 

Really wanted to trust the reviews for this one but unfortunately despite it initially seeming really positive and being promised a job, I was ghosted after paying £65 for a DBS (which is more than they cost!) and despite following up repeatedly I have heard nothing since December.

I actually have confirmation they lie about the jobs as I have contacts high up in one of the schools and although the recruiter said had a job open, this job never existed and they were not looking for anyone to fill any roles even remotely similar!

Furthermore, communication was terrible after the first two meetings. They really load it all on initially, contact you minutes after you apply and schedule a meeting for that week and a follow up for the next week. After this? Radio silence. There was another meeting scheduled, but George missed the call. I was contacted by someone else after following up, but they were unhelpful and also stopped communicating.

Also, one of the references I put down said that she’d been getting spammed with messages from them even as little as a day after receiving the initial reference request.

All around terrible service, I wasted time and money and hope on this company based on the reviews and I am so disappointed.

Through EdEx, I secured a position as an MFL teacher for this September, and I couldn’t be happier. George was knowledgeable, communicative, and supportive throughout my contact with him. His guidance and attention to my situation was invaluable, especially when quick decisions were needed. I feel that his advice on the interview process and positive approach played a huge part in helping me find a school that I am genuinely excited to join. I am very grateful for all his support and would highly recommend EdEx to anyone looking for a teaching post.

Honestly awful recruitment service. Spoke to someone named Ryan ages ago, then he parred me off to someone named Joe, Joe helped for a little and then I had to chase in order to be remembered.

I feel like they have big talk on LinkedIn etc but when it comes to actually helping they don’t. I feel like it was directly not helping someone like me and I did take it personally but who knows. They just give big talk without any action.

Ryan was absolutely amazing and helpful at finding me a placement close to my home. He managed to find me the perfect school that I could fit into and answered any questions promptly with a lot of information. Making me feel informed and confident in my abilities to secure the placement. Would highly recommend Ed Ex.

I have seen multiple adverts by this agency on job boards for positions in my local area. So, I applied. After not hearing anything I called up the agency only to be told by the person that I haven't been contacted because there are no jobs in my area. So maybe stop spamming job boards with fake vacancies you don't have.

I had an extremely positive experience with EdEx. Joe couldn’t do enough to help me land an amazing role. From the start he was genuinely friendly and approachable! Great communication and preparation for my interview/trial to where I felt completely at ease going in. Highly recommend EdEx if you’re looking to find a role in the education sector.

It took less than an hour to be contacted by EdEx after registering with them.

Josh has been incredibly supportive and helped me find the perfect fit for me.

I’ve had a very disappointing experience with EdEx Education. They contacted me once about an interview, but it was for a school that was clearly not a good fit. After that, I didn’t hear anything for a long time.

A year later, Josh messaged me on LinkedIn saying he wanted to speak. We agreed a meeting time, but he didn’t show up. He apologised and arranged a second meeting, and again he didn’t attend. I followed up on LinkedIn and by email with no response. I also emailed again about a role they advertised that I was interested in, and still received no reply.

Overall, this has felt unprofessional and a waste of time. I wouldn’t recommend them based on my experience.

After months of agencies that have been flaky, uncommunicative, or just unhelpful, Edex have been the perfect people to work with. I had a job that I love within a few days of Ryan contacting me, and he's offered all the knowledge, support and encouragement I needed to feel at home in my new role. I cant reccomend Ryan or Edex enough to anyone looking for a job in education.

I would recommend using EdEx to help you to find your next teaching role. They can be quite slow with their communication at the beginning which can be difficult as you are not sure if your applications are progressing however once they find a role they think will suit you they support you throughout the process. Ryan was very helpful and helped me find a great teaching role

Dishonest and Unprofessional – Avoid This Agency

My experience with EdEx has been nothing short of appalling. They placed me in a fixed-term LSA role at Harris Academy St John’s Wood, then completely abandoned me once the contract ended due to budget cuts — something I had no control over.

When I contacted them to ask for help finding another role, Ryan Bingham told me I’d be “too expensive” to work with now. Completely unacceptable and insulting.

Since then, I’ve applied to several of their advertised roles and repeatedly emailed a recruiter named Becca — who has ignored every message since July. - (We’re in October now)I’ve also called their main office numerous times, only to now be met with an automated message saying I’m “not allowed to call this number.” They’ve actually blocked me for no reason at all.

I even contacted George, the director of EdEx, to raise my concerns — and unsurprisingly, he hasn’t responded either.

This company is dishonest, unprofessional, and clearly doesn’t care about the people they claim to represent. Once they’ve used you to fill a role, you’re on your own. I would strongly advise anyone considering EdEx to stay well away — they’re only interested in profit, not people.
