Poor communication on when deal would close in terms of how quick the money would be due. Then harrassed daily by reps to make sure that I would pay, even though I had three successful transactions in the quarter. Taking a break from Equity Zen in favor of Forge and Hiive.

Smooth but with room for improvement
The process is relatively smooth. A few things would have made this better. #2 below would liberate a lot of funds I could use to invest in EquityZen, and I'm sure I'm not alone.
1. More detailed financial disclosure on the pre-IPO companies offered. More is always better.
2. The ability to invest from one's 401(k) or IRA. For me, funds would have needed to be withdrawn from those accounts, a taxable event, and then invested. I think someone once mentioned IRA and 401k companies that you work with. I didn't get far enough to figure out whether they could be a solution tax-wise, because the administrative fees they charged accountholders were so high it wouldn't have been worth it.
3. It took several attempts for me to get an intelligible response from customer service, Are you using AI? It felt like I was getting generic responses that didn't not answer my question.
