I had my engine reconditioned with Expert Reconditioners. Great service. I spoke with Zack and he arranged collection my car to their garage and regularly updated me on the process with pictures of the issues and work being done. It’s been 6 months and engine is still running brilliantly.

Engine rebuild in Barking

Had my Peugeot Engine done from their garage in Barking around a few months back. The car drives perfect so far with no issues. Andy sent me pictures and continuous updates through out the process. The job took a week longer than expected but it was understandable as they were very busy and kept me informed. The garage manager Jefferey was kind enough to show me around too when I visited. Great service overall.

Took my mum’s car to get engine reconditioned, she was told it was fixed so went to pick it up the 1st time and it was leaking fuel, so left it with them to sort out, got a call to say it’s all been sorted so went back again 2nd time this time I went with her and it’s was running lumpy was told it will sort it’s self out, they had cut open the ECU housing with a angle grinder, they also replaced the expansion tank and had cut the hose that went to the bottle and made a extension pice as the pipe was to small, and it looks like something a child would do, anyway was told to not take it over 3 thousand revs for the first 500 miles, anyway 500 miles later went to do oil change and filter, The filter was put on so tight I had to get a mobile mechanic to come and get it off, he even had problems and said who did it up so tight, any way got it done then went to take it for first test drive and there is now a problem with the turbo not boosting, called the garage to tell them and all I got was well we didn’t touch the turbo so it’s not our problem but if you want to bring the car back to us we can have a look but we will charge you for it as it not anything we have done.
I can’t see how you can take an engine out of a car and split it down with out having to take the turbo and parts off.
I was told that price was £1500.00 plus any parts that it will need and I said fine, anyway the final bill came in at £2671.00 and the car is still not running correctly would have thought after paying that it should run like a new car.

At first, Expert Reconditioners dazzled me with their professionalism and enthusiasm. They assured me my car would be in the best hands, and I naively believed them. The moment they picked up my car, however, it felt like they drove it straight into the Bermuda Triangle.

Weeks passed, deadlines dissolved into the ether, and I was left wondering if my car had been reconditioned into dust. Calls and emails went unanswered, as if I was trying to contact a long-lost civilization. Only after I mentioned the magic words "Trading Standards" did they miraculously reappear, full of excuses but short on results.

Expert Reconditioners may have mastered the art of disappearing, but customer service? Not so much. Save yourself the headache—unless you enjoy playing detective with your own property.

I honestly wish I'd read the reviews before I allowed these jokers to take my van. They (Andy from Engine Specialist) promised to install a reconditioned engine for £1,995. After they had a week Expert Reconditioners sent me a video, purportedly of my engine, listing problems with followed by a demand for over £2,000 for various parts to fix the engine I thought they were replacing.

The garage were extremely rude to me, stating they don't install reconditioned engines and I must have misunderstood. Andy also told me and my partner I had misunderstood. The Andy I spoke to was not the Andy I made the arrangements with.

They continue to make demands for payment by BACS and are literally harassing me and accusing me of not reading the email stating the price quoted was not final. This is an email they didn't tell me about and which doesn't appear to have reached me.

These people are out and out scammers taking advantage of customers looking for a cheap way to fix their vehicles.

If I could give a minus score I would.

This company is a fraudulent front face company which is little more than a website based in London. (ALI/ZACH/ANDY which I'm told are all the same person)
They are agents to garages across the country and will tell you it's their garage/garages and lure you in with low cost engine reconstruction but then by the time you come to get your car back it's twice as much or more!!!
They add silly prices for parts that aren't required and send photos purporting to be from your car. Sent me an added cost of £1234, which i immediately thought an odd coincidence
My vehicle was taken to a garage in Scunthorpe 90 plus mile from my home address. (Two hours each way)
This tactic ensures the car owner will find it difficult to keep checking on physical state of their vehicle!
I made the trip three times to an equally untrustworthy garage. I didn't see my car until third trip as it was at the garages other site! Another liar. It was at location if an independent company who had taken engine out on their behalf.
I eventually saw my engine less car and took alternative action in relation to it.
The contact with EXPERT RECONDITIONERS was me chasing them every two weeks as that was time they said it would be done. They lied repeatedly and on one occasion said the garage was closed for Eid!! That was never ever the truth!
I have WhatsApp messages telling me the car would be ready and just needed road testing. I was away at the time and confirmed on my return on a Tuesday that I could collect it on the Friday. Another 4hour journey wasted. Garage didn't know anything about it being ready as they hadn't completed it!!! Turns out the garage was fed up of being ripped off too and customers like me turning up week after week. Garage owner stated he had got rid of them as an agent some weeks before so possible an up yours response from Expert RECONDITIONERS . The garage used was just as poor in communication and that added to the diabolical situation that I and many others are experiencing with this agent!
The garage had my car for nearly six months meaning tax, MOT expired but I felt I had to continue insuring it
Many of the reviews of repairs by the nominated garages ( if anything like my experience back street garages) show total disregard for quality and customer service. Total scam front

The organisation in question is an utter disappointment. They failed to disclose that the service would be outsourced to a garage located in Hull, which proceeded to disassemble our engine and subsequently recommended the replacement of all auxiliary components. This was accompanied by a cost estimate that, upon my own research, I discovered to be significantly higher than market prices by approximately one thousand pounds. The company has persistently sought approval to execute the proposed work, despite my concerns regarding the transparency and accuracy of the quoted expenses.

Consequently, due to my hesitation in granting approval based on the perceived deception, I have been informed that the vehicle will be placed into storage, incurring additional fees. This is most unprofessional and has led to a breakdown in trust. I strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution and consider alternative service providers to avoid encountering similar unpleasant experiences.

DO NOT USE TOTAL SCAMMERS

Broke my van even more tried to charge me over £7000+ for a re build and will only take cash or bank transfer so you got no come back when the engine goes after there poor work 12 month warranty worthless and they have all your cash.

Now refusing to give my van back or take credit card payments so I’m protected.

Police informed taking legal action to get my van back

Absolutely fantastic job they rebuilt my hydro locked engine the car now drives better than before. 100% solid review from me. They’re experts at what they do.

Used this company based in brigg where my car engine was getting reconditioned. They collected it and said it would be ready to pick up in around 1 weeks time. After driving the car for around 3 weeks it broke down on the m1. Had to get it towed back to the garage at my expense to get it sorted out again. Once picked back up within 1 week same thing happened! They refused to collect the car and I wasn’t paying to get it recovered again. Long story short, stay away from this garage and take it somewhere else, absolute waste of a lot of money and time.

When BMW caused my timing chain to break.. my car was off the road for weeks.. all other mechanics told me I had to change the engine. I found them online and they gave the most realistic quote for their garage in HULL to rebuild the engine.. picked the car up with 2hours of the call... The rebuild took a week, and the car has never ran better.. responsive and each service since they have been thorough.It's been 11 months since they repaired my car.. and it still purrs like a brand new car.

Great work Guys ! I know the Owners of Expert Reconditioners Terry / Mark . You Guys are Just Spot on. At first i was confused a Bit as i dint know if they were Capable enough. But after got the job done they did it great. Its Almost 6 months Now the warranty is About to end and the Car Runs Like new.Great Work Guys .

Oil pump failure on my Mercedes, expert reconditioners qouted me for a garage in dagenham and rebuilt engine including new crank etc, at a very reasonable price, I’m pleased to have the car back and pleased with the information given to keep me informed on progress, nice people doing a good job of repairing my engine, I would recommend this company to anyone.

DIDN’T WANT TO PUT REVIEW ON RIGHT AWAY WANTED TO LEAVE IT A WEEK OR SO TO SEE HOW THE CAR RAN AND IT’S SPOT ON WELL HAD MY TIMING CHAIN SNAP ON MY BMW E90 M SPORT THINKING GOING TO BE SCRAP SO I GAVE them a call and they picked up from my house . And looked at car next day and told me smashed 6 valves camshaft and timing chain and said its nothing really I’m really glad I called these guys they really know there stuff, they are true honest people keeping me updated every day. well done guys. As a returning customer of several years, I can honestly say, this is a friendly, trustworthy establishment! Good cheap qoute given for garage in Enfield that is not priced low to fail your car in order to sell services! Straight forward advice and a very friendly professional customer service!

I can't believe how quick they rebuilt my van's engine. New injectors, valve seating, camshaft rectification and full rebuild in less than 3 days all in. That included the balancing if the crankshaft. Spot on guys! You don't get this kind of expertise anymore.

Expert Reconditioners are absolute life savers. After my family vehicle was damaged during a service at a different garage, leaving the vehicle unable to start and being told I required a new engine, I contacted them. Andy told me what he believed was wrong with my car; and not only fixed the problem for me (without a engine replacement!) but was Also Able to diagnose the reason refused to start and Rectify the Damage caused by the previous Mechanic. I honestly cannot thank them Enough . Very Happy Customer and Happy Family.

Great man Andy is can’t go wrong with this man he is Pleasant and helpful I have experienced great service from this place. I had my BMW X5 engine rebuilt from them at their garage in HULL and they kept me up-to date with progress by sending me pictures and text messages. I hope to see u guys again for any problems in the future. Stay safe

Excellent service would highly recommend especially as I was told by my car manufacturer that they wouldn’t be able to fix the engine it was better to buy a new car but my car now sounds brand new after having my engine fixed and the cherry on the cake it came back clean!!
