Great place to get most of my good quality guitar needs. I should have reviewed this purchase a few weeks ago but I am a brain donor and forgot! I will be purchasing new toys in the near future and fat bottom guitars are high on my list of places to look.

This is the second time I have sold a guitar to the folks at Fat bottom Guitars and it was the same smooth, professional service I received the first time.

From first contact to them sending out all the packing materials to post the guitar, Brilliant. I will certainly be using them again in the near future.

I’m really happy dealing with an honest and professional company with personal service and some unique instruments.
I’d normally be nervous about buying a high end guitar without trying it but it was exactly as described and I’m over the moon!

I sold 2 guitars to FBG in March 2026.

The communication via email with the Ops Manager was decent and helpful, and their prices offered were comparable to other guitar shops offering the same service.

HOWEVER - their payment terms are "within seven (7) working days of the item being delivered to our premises", which is already uncompetitive (another store I sold to paid out same day), and in my case they failed to meet even that deadline. After several emails, phone call, text message, eventually payment for 1 guitar came through, and then it took more messaging and another day for the 2nd payment to come through. I also received a gaslight-y message from the owner saying both had been paid and it must have been an issue with my bank [it wasn't... somehow I trust HSBC more than FBG at this point].

Of course they'd managed to photograph and list both my guitars for sale online much more quickly than they'd managed to send payment to me for them.

Reading online it seems this is their standard operating procedure going back years: ineptitude or dishonesty? You decide.

The reason any of us sell to a store rather than for a better price privately is because we want the process to be quick, trustworthy and painless, and they've failed to deliver on this.

Did I get my money eventually? Yes. Would I use them again? Not likely.

Very prompt delivery. Guitar is as described.

Fast delivery. Guitar was well packed and just as described. Very good guitar.

Matt is an excellent manager (and guitarist). I visited, came back, and walked out with a guitar I need, now becoming a guitar I love. Well done. Passion + knowledge = a winning combination.

I had a Gibson LP I wanted to sell. I made an enquiry and Ben got back to me quickly, easy questions and a few photos later, an offer to buy which I thought fair. Guitar collection arranged for the next day, all went smoothly, good friendly comms. Cash in my bank account with the time stated. Very smooth and easy sale.
