Fitment Industries turned its own listing discrepancy into a 9–10 week refund process

I ordered a set of Spyder Signature headlights directly from Fitment Industries on May 20. The product listing displayed headlights with a black-housing appearance. The headlights I received had chrome housings instead.

This was not a manufacturing defect. Spyder's own website accurately depicts the product with chrome housings. The discrepancy arose from the product image Fitment Industries chose to display on its own listing. Although I repeatedly asked for clarification about the discrepancy, I never received a meaningful explanation.

I contacted Fitment Industries shortly after delivery and requested an exchange. What followed was a prolonged email exchange spanning many weeks. During that time, I repeatedly supplied the requested photographs and information, complied with each new request, and followed up multiple times simply to obtain an RMA shipping label.

Once the return was finally authorized, Fitment Industries advised that my replacement would ship once the return tracking showed movement. I relied on that representation and shipped the headlights immediately. Only after the tracking showed the package had shipped did Fitment Industries change its position and state that the return first had to be received and inspected before any replacement would be sent.

After weeks of back-and-forth, the exchange was ultimately changed to a refund. I returned the headlights using the RMA label provided by Fitment Industries and supplied the requested tracking information.

Fitment Industries then advised that the returned package could take two to three weeks to inspect before issuing a refund. I was also told the company was waiting for Spyder to issue Fitment Industries a credit before refunding my purchase.

As a customer, I find that position unreasonable.

I did not purchase these headlights from Spyder. I purchased them from Fitment Industries, paid Fitment Industries, relied on Fitment Industries' product listing, and returned the product through Fitment Industries' return process.

Imagine ordering a cheeseburger at a drive-through, receiving the wrong order, returning it, and then being told your refund will take seven weeks while the restaurant contacts its beef supplier. After that, you're told it may take another two to three weeks to inspect the returned cheeseburger before refunding only the amount you originally paid.

I don't believe any reasonable customer would consider that an acceptable refund policy.

Fitment Industries' reimbursement arrangement with its supplier is an internal business matter. It should have no bearing on when a customer receives a refund for merchandise returned because of an issue with Fitment Industries' own product listing.

It has now been more than seven weeks since I placed my order. Under Fitment Industries' own stated timeline, the expected resolution is now approximately nine to ten weeks from the original purchase date.

This was not a case of buyer's remorse, ordering the wrong part, or returning a product because I simply changed my mind. The only reason this return occurred was because the product I received did not match the appearance presented on Fitment Industries' listing.

After I explained why I did not believe delaying a customer's refund until a supplier reimburses the retailer was reasonable, communication ceased and I have received no meaningful response.

What should have been a straightforward customer service issue has become a nearly two-and-a-half-month process involving weeks of emails, repeated follow-ups to obtain an RMA, changing return terms after I relied on them, an additional two-to-three-week inspection period, and a refund apparently contingent upon the retailer's relationship with its supplier.

If Fitment Industries promptly issues my refund, I will gladly update this review to reflect that outcome.

Making it impossible to obtain the warranty.

This company is horrible. I purchased enkei lusso 18"x7.5" wheels and had them ceramic coated by them. After a 11 months they started pitting and peeling. So I contacted fitment industries and started a warranty claim and sent them pictures and they are saying its stone chips. So I mention that when you run your finger over it you feel bumps. So they said ok send us a deposit of $750.00 plus 159.00 for ceramic coating if you want the new wheels ceramic coated like your first set and we will ship a new set but there's only 7 left because they're discontinued so hurry up and then send in the defective ones in for inspection, or I can go to a tire shop and have them remove the tires and ship the wheels back for inspection. I don't know a tire shop that will let your car hang on a lift for who knows how long while your wheels are being inspected for warranty. So that will leave me without a car. The are making it impossible to obtain the warranty. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I will be going to the BBB, the Attorney General and my State Representative.

EDIT: I dont have $750 + $159 to put as a deposit. This is not fair for the customer.

John, our apologies for any confusion. Once you place the deposit, you will receive new wheels, and once received, you will swap them with the wheels you want to submit for warranty. This would mean there is no downtime for your vehicle while the wheels are inspected by the manufacturer. Our management team will reach out to explain this further.

Great service

Ordered tires and rims a second time here!! I keep coming back because the service is great. they came really fast(under 2 weeks) and they came with a bunch of protection so they didn’t get messed up from shipping. I love this place and will be ordering again.

Be very careful when you buy here

Ill keep this brief and factual. Their website cannot sort out when a car requires a staggered set up. When you cant even match the functionality of discount tire, you are doing something wrong. I ordered set up from them thinking that would be baked in and, its not. Customer service is terrible. They wont work with you much. I tried to get them waive the restock and I would buy a corrected set from them and no. Took it up with the credit card company and lost. Though I think its because the non English speaking person who took my complaint didn't understand me. I went with element wheels instead now. Guess what, their site knows more than bolt patterns. So I will be filing complaints with BBB, State Attorney General and other legal avenues available.

My package was shipped to the other side of the USA

They shipped my package to Texas… I live in Pennsylvania. The customer service said they would give me updates, that’s all they kept saying. Eventually I called in and got hung up on, then a different rep called me back and I got somewhere, she was kind and informative. I understand mishaps happen, I wouldn’t base if you should buy from them off my one experience, but this was my experience.

I’ve yet to receive a refund as they stated they would cancel the order for me

Terrible customer service, still battling to get a refund for items they want to charge ridiculous shipping for when it was listed as FREE shipping.

I ordered parts for my Supra that were listed as free shipping, they also said they were not in stock and available via backorder. I called and confirmed the items would be drop shipped from the manufacturer, that it was free shipping and they'd ship in a week or so. They didn't know these items would be shipping from Taiwan. How do you sell stuff and not know where it's located? The manufacturer will ship these items to me for 105, Fitment Industries wants over 500 to ship it to me. It's a few pieces of carbon fiber and the package is only 2lbs and 35x15x4in. I've been asking for a refund for 3 days now, every time they respond knocking a few dollars off the shipping and when I respond to get a refund they do not reply. Stay far away from this place, I've reported them to the BBB and the Wisconsin DATCP bureau as well.

Being this was my first time buying…

Being this was my first time buying rims online I was a little nervous but with fitment industries guided wheels and tires package it helped me find the exact rims I wanted and what tires I may need. Overall the it was 5 star experience from buying to receiving my rims. I only waited about a week after I ordered them so that on its own made me happy. Ohh I forgot to mention the condition of the rims, not a dent or scratch in sight.

Fast shipping

Shipping was super fast and everything was packaged really well with multiple layers of protection. Only issue was the TPMS/valve stem color—would’ve liked more options. The blue that came installed isn’t really my style. I didn’t know the TPMS would be blue; if I had, I would’ve ordered the wheels and tires separately to match my exact vision. Silver or black would’ve been a better fit for my setup.
