racism and discrimination
> I have consistently had very poor customer service experiences at this Fred Meyer location on Molalla Ave.
On multiple visits, I have noticed different employees treating me in a disrespectful and unprofessional way. One older male employee with a beard who often works self-checkout and wears shorts has repeatedly refused to handle my alcohol ID verification directly and instead calls a manager or another employee, while he assists other customers without issue.
I have also experienced similarly poor treatment from other cashiers, including a short blonde male employee who has worked there for several months. In several situations, I was ignored, given rude attitudes, or treated in a way that felt intentionally dismissive.
On more than one occasion, employees have been unnecessarily abrupt when handling my ID and items, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. These experiences have happened repeatedly with different staff members, not just one individual.
Because of the pattern of disrespectful and unprofessional treatment I have experienced, I will no longer be shopping at this location. I also would not recommend this store based on my repeate experience
Terrible place to work for
Terrible place to work for! No support from management and HR in dealing with bigoted customers using racial slurs to me and other Black co-workers in my 3 years working there! No Black/Brown people in Management positions in my 3 years working there
Hardship challenges working here…
As an adult with a disability I have given 2 decades of my life to Kroger. I use to enjoy it at first but began to have hardships and challenges working here. Last year this company almost got an eeoc claim from me. Every few months it’s something I have to stand up for and it’s getting old. I’m burned out working for this company and currently transitioning out. This company destroyed what ever reaming trust they had in me last year and I’m honestly tired of how this company treats individuals with disabilities.
I’ve seen this company push out many good could have been workers. If you have a disability you’ll be shoved in one role and that’s it until you quit or get disabled from it. I’ve been denied so many could have been roles and it very much has to do with my disability. It’s nice to have the union protection but that’s another story. This review is about Fred Meyer. I am honestly done with this company. I am transitioning into another employment field and moving into a field that is more respectable of my skills, talents and abilities. Coupled with not holding me back just because I’m disabled and they don’t want disabled in any sort of leadership role. I’ve nudged my way into other roles and just as suddenly get booted form them like “I’m not supposed to do it.”
This is sadly the reality for us working with this company. I’ve seen many good candidates come and leave because they realize quickly what it’s like on the inside. I stayed so long because I didn’t have much of a choice. I’m not happy with how they discriminated against me last year which almost resulted in an eeoc claim.
The last couple if times I bought steak…
The last couple if times I bought steak items, I ended up with diarrhea. Anyone else have this problem. I have been a customer for 40 years
Beer section bad experience.
Yea. I went in today and got a few items ( didn’t fill up a hand basket) went to the beer department ( that’s now its own enclosure) and got a 12 pack and walked to the register and was gunna get checked out by the guy. Then an older woman came out of nowhere and told me I couldn’t check out there. I pressed her with some questions and at this point she still refused. Mind you it wasn’t even the guy at the register and this woman wasn’t the manager… so I went to customer service to tell them what happened and they blew me off too after admitting she should have allowed that guy to check me out. I am fairly young and this seemed more like a power trip than a store policy as the guy in front of me was being checked out with similar items. A few. I did file a complaint with the cooperate but for $100 ( for like 8 items) I will shop elsewhere. I don’t need to be treated like that because some grandmother ( no offense) is on a power trip when another guy was clearly being checkout out in front of me and nearly finished. And she spoke for him too. Lady get a life.
The Fred Meyer in Ballard has the best pharmacy
The Fred Meyer in Ballard has the best pharmacy I’ve ever used. Mrs. Lam, the head pharmacist has caught all the prescriptions I’ve received from walk in clinics that are wrong, or that she knows I will have an allergic reaction to.
She is very knowledgeable, kind and patient when I ask questions about medications and possible side reactions. Overall, this pharmacy is top rated in my book, and Mrs. Lam is a treasure in the field.
Rude Employee
On December 29 2025 I went grocery shopping at the Fred Meyers in Snohomish Washington like I have been doing since they open in 2008. I didn`t have a lot of items and saw that the self check out by customer service was open and no customers were using it so when I walked in I saw that the older lady that was working the self check was reading the newspaper. I politely asked her if she could help me check my items because I wasn`t to sure how everything works. This was around 10 - 10:30 am. To my surprise I got a attitude from her. She said that I should go to the check out isle. That is no way to talk to customers especially a loyal customer of 17 years. Unfortunately I didn`t get her name but Im sure they can look at their records and find out who this rude employee is. Fred Meyer needs to step up on this one.
Unprofessional, Unethical, or...?
My husband walked in with a hard-copy prescription, a 30-day Rx that has been filled at Fred Meyer Pharmacy several times. During a follow-up phone call, there were discrepancies: 1) when the Rx could be filled, and 2) new dosing directions from my doctor. Even when a rep. from my medical insurance was on the phone call, two pharmacy techs and a pharmacist argued with me over the doctor's directions and the change in dosage. It was evident that these pharmacy staffers did not refer to the actual hard-copy prescription, as they refused even to acknowledge the doctor's dosing changes. Their solution was to repeat the directions I've never gotten from my doctor and emphatically state that several customers were waiting (in other words, I was wasting their time). Within 30 minutes, my husband retrieved the hard-copy prescription from Fred Meyer and took it to another pharmacy, where it was filled without incident.
So they're just stealing our pennies 5x over now?!
My receipt yesterday was rounded up four cents so that good old Kroger could avoid giving me a penny in change 😕 I am extremely disappointed ☹️ Fred Meyer would be turning over in his grave

Lacking in Customer Service and Dishonest
The pharmacy is unhelpful and in fact goes out of their way to make things more difficult. I am handicapped and use their drive thru option for safety reasons. But it is currently out of service.
Last time this happened they sent someone out with my meds and asked for my drivers license and I had to sign for the meds. No problem.
But today, they refused to do so and even went so far as to tell me that it was illegal (something they had done in the past) and hung up on me. YOU NEVER HANG UP ON A CUSTOMER!!! If I did that at my job I'd be FIRED!!!
If I could rate them even lower I would. They have no comprehension what constitutes customer service.
Johnson Creek Blvd Grocery Pickup Issue
I was attempting to return a grocery pickup item at the Johnson Creek location which had an expiration date of only two days after I purchased it, but was told that I couldn't return in store& needed to call the# on the receipt , where I might possibly receive a refund & to either donate or give away the expired meat- ridiculous. I shared that I've often had to return expired or close to expired foods & was told it was a corporate issue but this is on the store level. The front of store manager was absolutely horrible and lied that I was ignoring the policy and demanding a refund, and when the grocery associate leader arrived. He was absolutely rude and unprofessional as well, greeting me with, "What." Whether or not corporate changed or is just now enforcing this policy takes customer service away and burdens customers. I'm not at all surprised a corporation is acting in this manner but I will be loud about it. How do you have 2 leaders in a store who contribute harmfully to an already escalated situation? The only 2 individuals who helped were Kate & Desiree. Desiree actually asked the front of store person to leave because she could see his presence was only making matters worse. The only feedback I was trying to share was that food can be checked better to prevent this from happening before it's bagged. Matt (horrible grocery associate leader) asked why I didn't just return it when I got it and realized it was about to expire..."I said that's what I'm trying to do!" Smh

I threw away my receipt for a cord I purchased in electronics. Olga had a such a great idea to repurpose that cord if I couldn’t find the receipt, but I didn’t even bother looking for it. I’m an avid gardener and Olga set the discord is great for tying up plants. Because the rubber around the cord protects the plant. She said, cut off the ends and tie knot and it works great in the garden. I’m glad I couldn’t find the receipt. Thank you, Olga and Fred Meyer, which is the best store I’ve ever shopped at.

Rude employees have a gang of sorts in…
Rude employees have a gang of sorts in the Anchorage store on Dimond. The barista at Starbucks got mad because I didn't tip him. The Deli manager woman is a bully. Cashiers ask me to round up my total for the hungry. Well heck, I am hungry and I buy groceries for myself. They hate their customers.
Fred Meyer is a dump
Fred Meyer is a dump! I've been working for them for almost a year and they are practically paying slave wages for labor with zero incentives! They allow people to be extremely lazy every day and rather than do something about it they instead get on the people who bust their butts every single day while allowing the worst employees to continuously screw everything up! The store is absolutely filthy and everything about it is disgusting! You would think this store would at least try in regards to keeping their store clean but they don't! Walmart is so much better and it's crazy to even say that but it's true! I work overnight at Fred Meyer throwing freight all night and we don't even have a manager or any security guards or anything! If two employees got in a fight up here nobody would be around to even stop it! They should close every store nationwide because they are a disgrace and they cost so much more than other grocery stores! I can't even tell you how many times I have found items on the shelves that have been expired for months! Take your business elsewhere and stop going to Fred Meyer
Disappointed in employees
I have to say, I always shop at Klamath Falls Fred Meyer, today was a true disappointment in their employees. I heard 2 employees talking quite loud about the murder of Charlie Kirk saying how they didn't care he was shot because they didn't agree with his views. What happened was not right on any level and to express almost like they were glad he was killed was so inappropriate. Do better with
your employees.
I did a store pick up on friday the 5th…
I did a store pick up on friday the 5th for $401.95. Was charged immediately. I picked up my order that same day. The following day the 6th I was charged AGAIN for the same amount 401.59. The 1st charge went through in 2 days. The 2nd charge has been pending for 5 days.
No one will release the charge. Bank cant until its done pending and fred meyer wont refund me.
Horrible company. They had no right to charge my card again the day AFTER I picked up my $400 order!
Talked to corporate on the phone they wont help.
Went in to Redmond Fred Meyer. Asked for the store director and was told they wanted to try to help before calling him. The service desk called corporate. They still wouldnt release the unauthorized charge. Her store director said he wouldnt help me either and wouldnt talk to me.
I will never shop at fred meyer and any Kroger store ever again.
Homeless camped out inside the store
The store on Dimond Blvd in Anchorage has no security- a homeless bum camped out in the Starbucks seating area with all his stuff all over. He left it there and went outside to harass shoppers like me. I reported both incidents and the greeter tried to find someone to help but no one came. Shame on you Fred Meyer ! That store is dangerous now.
