Gala Technology Reviews 

My unpleasant experience with Gala Technology CEO, after I reviewed an unsolicited marketing email sent from a domain unrelated to the company, with no opt-out and no registered company details.

Gala CEO flagged the review as defamatory. Trustpilot reviewed it and kept it in place. What followed, in order:

The CEO emailed me personally asking me to reconsider the review, and reminded me that relationships matter "particularly in relatively small business communities".

A second email confirmed the outreach was theirs and AI-assisted, then added a postscript about my other reviews and my character, and advised me that carrying "so much negativity" would affect me personally.

When I made a routine data protection request, to be removed from their lists and asked where my details came from, his reply in full was: "The email is a commercial email. What are you going on about? Stop this bloody nonsense and run your business without tarnishing it."

The next day a review of my company appeared on Trustpilot under a pseudonym, describing this exchange and recommending against contacting us.

He then published my real name in reply to my original review.

Set that against what he wrote to me. He said the right response to an unwanted email is the delete button; his response to an unwanted review was five escalations. He said I had leapt to a public character assessment from a single email; he made a personal assessment of me in a postscript. He said relationships matter in small business communities; he reviewed my company for the offence my personal experience in reviewing his. He said I was not being a good ambassador for my company; he unmasked a pseudonymous reviewer while reviewing me under one himself.

In my opinion that is bullying: pressure applied privately, then publicly, to make a critic withdraw. And the emails follow a pattern I can only describe as gaslighting. An honest review became "a leap" and "point-scoring". A routine data request became "bloody nonsense". His three unsolicited emails to me were "opening a dialogue"; my one review was an attack. By the end he was advising me on my own negativity. Every message reframed what had happened so that the person who received the spam was the problem, not the company that sent it.

He does not appear to think any of it was wrong. I am recording it here so that anyone dealing with Gala Technology knows how criticism is received, and in case he reads his own words back and sees what I did.

Great integration with Xero payments. Massive help for our business. Everything running smoothly.

Over in Dubai tried to make a payment then when you need to verify with your bank when you go back on the app it says in progress and you carnt log back in to it not a good system. Would not recommend
