I started off with a bundle of courses from humblebundle but i found it so good that i actually bought lifetime membership in the end, even though i have a hard time finding time for programming i really enjoy picking up on it now and then.

They are a video-based service without any provided captioning/transcript services. They don't even have auto-captions available in their video player. I wouldn't have bought a course bundle through them if I knew this - I have hearing problems which make trying to learn without captions a pain

I love that their lessons aren't just "Copy what I do and learn" instead they explain why things are being chosen and why to use them. Then multiple times throughout each video they will give a challenge which is based on what you know. You then have to try and think and implement the couple bullets they display. After you finish, you can unpause the video and see how they do it. I found this amazing since you get an opportunity to apply what you learned while still using them for help. They are also extremely responsive to any and all questions so you always have support. Also, if a newer version of software comes out they will update the course to use the new features while also giving you full access to the new course. This way you don't have to worry about being stuck with a deprecated lesson

Starting over 2 years ago now I began investing my time into GameDev.tv's courses for Unity and Unreal Engine.

The courses are always containing great amounts of content and detail (usually banging up against the course platform provider's limits), and have been continuously maintained and improved since their launch to support newer releases of the technologies and engines we are trying to work with.

I have undertaken numerous other courses both in and out of game dev by others, and whilst some have been pretty good too, my top recommendation is always for the courses that this diversely skilled team produces, and more courses are being designed and created over time as well.

Considering the relatively low cost (less than a movie / album) for what you get, the value provided is off the scales.

They are all very approachable and personable too, whether through kickstarter messages, facebook posts and replies, or live streams, I couldn't be happier with how engaged they all are with their students, whenever they aren't busily creating new course content.

I've even bought their courses as gifts for my friends and family, that's how much I'm happy to endorse them.

Their classes are a great value. The instructors teach well, and they keep the courses up-to-date as technology improves.

Experienced, friendly and awesome instructors. Their courses are filled with the right amount of content to set you on the right track and they follow the proper practices. Asides from that, the community they have built is really helpful and welcoming. The instructors engage with and respond to everyone, making your learning journey a lot easier.

Where do I begin... you are lost and confused but you only know one thing. You want to learn Game Development and you need to learn from the best of the best. There is no time to waste. You stumble upon a GameDev.tv course. You watch the intro video and are instantly sucked into a word of possibilities. From here you are bombarded with well crafted videos and challenges that teach you everything you need to know. They don’t hold your hand here. They really emphasize that students the need to take initiative and learn on their own. You continue hammering through challenges and occasionally running outside to scream because of the days when nothing seems to be working or what you are learning is making no sense. But suddenly at the end of your course journey you have something built in front of you that you recently believed was only for the talented. Not only is it worth showing to everyone but you understand everything about it. You can now take your skills and tackle real world problems. The game development world is in your hands.

Now for a more serious matter.
The instructors are ten out of ten the best instructors in the world. They really know their stuff and are excellent communicators. You will not be bored learning how to build games.

The videos are extremely well crafted and are polished.

The community they built is amazing. There is always someone out there who can help you or encourage you to never give up.

Their website is also very well made and supports the main purpose of their courses. To provide a learning environment for game development student.

Trust me you will not be disappointed. GameDev.tv is an amazing company. They care about every single one of their students and will do anything to help their students achieve their game development goals and dreams.

You want the best teachers for programming? Well here they are!

Very good teaching team. If you want to learn coding and developing games with Unity or Unreal Engine, this is the easiest to recommend team.

Provided a great experience and a very easy to understand learning course.
Nothing feels rushed and you can see they love what they teach.

I first found GameDev.tv's founders on IP torrents, and after watching a couple videos, I just knew I had to pay for it - content was great and so well made. All their following tutorials have also followed suit.

Buying GameDev courses was the best decision I ever made. The lessons are well detailed with in-depth sections that take into account people with less experience in programming. They build your skills from the ground up so you can become autonomous in this beautiful adventure which is game development. The courses are based in an education concept known as spiral curriculum (spiralling syllabus) which revisits important topics, with each encounter increasing in complexity and reinforcing previous learning.

Great Courses that make sure to try and get you learning how to do things the way the pros do it, but they are sure to take it easy and teach you step by step. I love the courses and the support that you get with them!

Having followed multiple of their courses and been part of their community for years. GameDev.tv is the best group to learn how to develop games in various different areas (modelling, programming, design, maths, etc).

I without a doubt would recommend them to anupne (and have). Their teaching style is thorough and nicely paced. They give you the tools to know how to do things on your own and then challenge you to implement tasks before showing you how they do it. This style requires commitment to following their structure and from a student perspective it's incredibly motivating to get to the points where you get challenges to work!

Out of all learning sources, gamedev.tv is by far my favourite!

Absolutely wonderful courses and community. I like that they try to get you to figure somethings out on your own. It will leave you beating your head against the wall but feels so much better when you do accomplish it on your own.

Great tutorials understandable methods. Not just a person telling you what to type to complete the course but they take their time to explain beyond the game in the course when you are done you should be able to build a small portfolio and publish your games.

Preparing for grad school was so much easier thanks to GameDev.tv; I had never coded before, and while my grad school's game MFA wasn't necessarily focused on digital game design, it was obviously a desired skill. I kind of have trouble focusing on this kind of thing, but the analogies and different ways those instructors explained things or challenged us (despite not seeing me behind my computer, haha) made me feel competent and at ease. I started with the C#/Unity course and continued later with the RPG and then C++/Unreal course. I teach Unreal now myself (to kiddos)! And now I'm finishing up grad school with a lot of confidence.
