The team were excellent! I didn’t feel a minute of stress across a 3 day move due to the professionalism and efficiency of the team! I am heavily pregnant and they did everything for us. Luciano, Simon, Aj, Joe and Surge - thank you sooo much!

If I could give this place a -1000 I would.

I booked a removal of my 1 bed flat 2 weeks prior to my move date. The service over the telephone was top notch along with the follow up email confirmations that gave me complete faith in this company delivering.

Fast forward to the AM of my move date, no sign of the removers. I waited for 45 mins past their due time, nothing. I called the telephone number, no response. Over an hour later, I finally had a call from the company to say “the van had broken down” (first lie) and could I rearrange for TWO DAYS time!! I’m not sure this company understands how it works when you sell a property- you are LEGALLY obliged to be out of the home. After I outright refused and told them to locate their contingency plans which I’m sure they’ll have in place, they finally sent their sister company (Aussie man with a van, btw, they’re all owned by the same company, so all equally useless) around THREE HOURS after they were due to arrive. The amount of panic and stress that consumed me during the unknowns when you have to be out of a property I don’t think they fully comprehend.

I had arranged for the movers to assemble 4 flat packs on arrival of my new home, of course, this wasn’t on their job sheet therefore they could not do this. The actual movers in end were fine, however, I did not appreciate one of their workers sending me a what’s app message a few days later, checking in on me, which was not required and I deem this as harassment.

The removal men advised that Gentleman & a Van had in fact, not even made my booking, so the “broken down van” was a complete lie.

I did not receive ONE apology email or phone call from the company (Amy booked my move).

I called my bank immediately and ensured no further payment could be taken from this joke of a company.

If you’re looking for a trustworthy, honest and reliable removals firm, Gentlemen & a van are not in. Don’t be fooled by their name into thinking they’re trustworthy.

Will never use again.

Terrible customer service. I enquired a week ago to get a quote. Their customer service rep, Lauren, asked for an itemised list of everything we needed transporting. I responded promptly and sent photos. They were slow to respond to the point of being unresponsive. No quote received, but instead I received an email from Lauren but this time from a ‘Master Removers’ email address. Avoid. Seems like a scam. There are plenty of other good removers out there.

Absolutely outstanding service from start to finish, from the initial quotation and assessment (Mark - thanks), to Michael bringing a great selection of packing materials and showing strength I could only wish for, through to the unbelievably talented trio of Tom, Louis and Carlos - who did our removal. They were the ultimate professionals and their productivity was off-the-scale. They were courteous, nothing was too much trouble, respectful and had a good sense of humour. They would be my first choice if I were ever mad enough to move again - instead pleased receive this endorsement of a great team.

This is the company to use! We had quite a complex move involving first moving items to storage and then a big move a month later. On the weekend before the big move we realised we had totally under estimated how many boxes and other stuff we had. Lauren did an amazing job getting an extra Van organised from a sister company plus additional G&V crew and avoided disaster - all within a few hours. The big move went smoothly. Thank you so much for making this happen. We could not be more happy with the service. You guys rock!!

Buyer be ware: It is one thing to over charge for good quality service and safety in not breaking or damaging furniture but to lie and inflate hours, number of boxes used and also break brand new furniture is simply unaccepetable.
There was also nothing gentle about this company. On arrival, Mark screamed and walked out when I asked that they use wraps around the new furniture and not use bare hands. The team of two then took a 45 minute break outside after one hour of work. This was a one bedroom with all clothing and other smaller items had already moved or packed. There was only living room and bedroom to be packed.
When delivered, I noticed Mark was in a rush to run out, when I pointed out the brand new desk and TV stand were damaged, he had answers ready and claimed they were damaged before. He then had me sign a folded paper which I now in hindsight realise why it was folded without me being able to see what I was signing. I was then presented an invoice with double the number of boxes used (of which I had photos), unknown number of bubble wrap when nothin was bubble wrapped, and two extra hours for moving when most of it was spent on a break. All in all, this was a fraud! Additionally, when I asked the company to submit the damage to insurance, the lady, Lauren claimed the damage was there before with no proof (I have proof they weren't). When I insisted, Lauren said she hadn't charged me for insurance and then submitted it to insurance.

I was dreading a small but important move, including that of family heirlooms
and artwork. I feared needlessly: Gentleman & Van turned up in the form of two
young men, Nick and Jai, who not only fulfilled the definition, but turned the day
into an outright pleasure, such were their personable natures, agreeable approach to
the endeavour and professional efficacy - diligent and thoroughly agreeable. I have a
bigger move ahead and would not consider another service. No hesitation - the best.

Amy from head office / bookings was fantastic. She was incredibly diligent and responsive - really helpful in accommodating changing moving dates, incredibly nice to deal with, made the whole process very easy.

Tom and Louis who moved our things were fantastic - so speedy, very attentive and very careful with our things. They were speeding up and down stairs with heavy goods like it was nothing! All in, a very positive experience at a very fair price.

They were so efficient and made sure my belongings were safely packed for transit. They were also cheerful and just got on with it - exactly what you need when dealing with the stress of a move. I would definitely use them again and cannot recommend them highly enough. Mark and Phil were just great!

Shane and Simon were great!! They were careful, efficient and great at arranging everything into a storage locker. I definitely recommend Gentleman and a Van and would use them again.

I cannot in good conscience recommend these guys. We used them because we like to use people we know. However, we were moving overseas and it was chaotic at best. Some of the stuff to go into storage ended up in Bermuda and the Bermuda stuff ended up in storage! I have not had any clothes since January and now they can't even find them... The packers did an OK job but they could have done better and the head guy spent most of his time on the phone! Despite all the mistakes, and a 5K invoice, they are holding our pictures (which should be in Bermuda) hostage until we pay the disputed storage invoices!

Same as other bad reviews. They caused around £5k of damage and loss, but because I didn't report it in 7 days, nobody wants to hear about it. Packing was awful, boxes mislabelled. No care taken at all. Heavy suitcases dumped on top of designer armchairs. All they have offered is to get a restorer for my dining table damage, which is trivial compared to the overall damage and loss, and they still have not arranged him despite 2 months having passed. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

We had a great experience with Gentleman & A Van who recently looked after our house move. The whole process was pleasant and stress free throughout, from the estimate to the removal day. Every person we dealt with was equally professional and friendly. We highly recommend Gentleman & A Van!

Not only were Gentleman and a Van able to accomodate us at short notice, but they were also MUCH cheaper than many others that had quoted us. The two gentlmen that arrived to help us move were second to none. Nothing was too much for them, they were very kind, proactive and helpful on what was already a stressful day, they brought a huge calm and reassurance.

When they arrived to the house they laid down flooring so that nothing got damaged and took everything to its appropriate room, even offering to move things around after theyd placed them.

They were just brilliant, could not speak highly enough of them.

Would 10/10 reccomend.

The team have been kind and very accommodating. The two gents who helped me and my mum move were extremely polite and the service was extremely efficient. Definitely recommend!

Exceptionally good service, great value, lovely guys who came to transport my business to my new studio and they were super careful - not a single dented corner on a box
